See that Notes (or a portion) were added to the Beta site. However the entire note cannot be seen. Also have the ability to add to the Notes.
Feedback for beta.swing.com
Would like to see Members age on the Profile Pic.
Would like to have members who are not interested in our age group not show up on searches.
Thanks.
We are on many sites all around the world, and here are the things that ALL OF THEM DO and SLS does not.
- email notifications. Every site in the world gives you options of being notified by email when you get a message, a like, a friend request, etc. SLS makes timely communication impossible.
- immediate profile edits. All of them have the same TOS - no phone numbers, kik names, telegram handles. Yet all of them allow you to see your edits immediately, not wait 24-48 hours to find out you mistyped a word and now have to wait another day to correct it. Does SLS really need a very over-worked human to check every profile?
- likes/pokes/nudges. Sometimes you just want to say "hi" without saying "hi'.
- more options than Straight/Bi-c/Bi. A very high percentage, if not a majority, of men are flexible about same-sex contact. They are not bi, not bi-curious, but tolerate or welcome incidental or intentional touch. Currently they need to communicate that as "open-minded" or "not homophobic".
- and, obviously, age. That makes no sense. Every site we've ever been on asks you to input your year of birth. If someone wants to lie, that's on them, but SLS is the only one that makes it inaccurate by default.
Thanks for giving us this opportunity.
I am not sure about others... But I feel the layout for all the categories is must to large. Why do we need to see the images so large?
I am using Safari on an Image with an HP Monitor, nothing fancy. You are really wasting a lot of the landscape.
Are you trying to design this for a mobile app? That may explain it.
Try as we might, we have been unable to sign into the Beta Site. Checked, Rechecked, and Triple Checked our Login & Password.
Have tried to sign in on Chrome, MS Edge, FireFox, and FireFox safe mode....
W/o being able to sign in, we can't give any site feedback.
If the site is switching over to the Beta as the Alpha at some point. They best get the sign in figured out.
Fail
1st there is no point in beta testing something partially finished. There is no way to say ok it is good. But as of right now it is 100 percent useless
# 2 when you hover over profile can not see who they are meaning female couple and what they are interested in without actually opening up their profile
Couples get enough males . Us single males should not have to open a profile to see if they like singles. the hover on original page is great
# 3 and your biggest issue with your site is we get. zero notice if some one sends a message this is an easy fix if you an not fix I know people that can fix thi s simple matter. this sis such a simple fix and has been non existent for SLS for a decade now LOL no ROFLMAO
Mind you I like SLS I say this to help you s i have been in computers since the 80's So please fix simple things that should have been fixed 10 years ago
I suggest you look at fet and see how fast you get a message a couple contacted you. because waiting till i sign on to say hello makes people feel like you are not interested.
FIX THE EMAIL it is simplest of fixes we know what is wrong with it
Howdy. Like the updated site, however a like or flirt option still didn't show up. That was a major flaw of the original site, and I had hoped it would be avaliable here, but no such luck.
Please, make a flirt or similar option to at least indicate interst, it would help break the ice.
Thanks!
Overall I like the beta site. Although I noticed the stories are missing, hopefully they will make there way into the new site?
Love the new site. It would be nice to have a like ?? feature. Just to let someone know you’re interested. It helps someone know you’re open to talk etc.
Love the site!
While the new site looks nice and up to date. Something I didn't notice immediately is that the notes that users make about people listed don't appear in the compact cards but do appear in the tall cards. Revealing the tall cards requires another step to see notes and members' physical stats. The wide cards are not attractive or very readable. In the Search results, I think distance should be listed more prominently, perhaps in a similar way that cards elsewhere have the mileage overlaid on the card image.
On the plus side, members' photos are richer, larger and clearer in the new site. The message box is larger and easier to read. It will all take some getting used to, but it appears that the functionality of the original site is preserved, which is good. Thanks for involving us members in the redesign process. I know how long and arduous it can be. Good luck.
When you hover over picture you get their stats.
We are working on options for this. Unfortunately mobile devices do not have a hover and members have to long press which most people are not aware of.

We have added the concept of cards where you can see the stats from all members either to the right or below of the profile picture. You can try out the cards feature on the menu. Additional information will be added to the cards soon.

We may also add a preview icon to thumbnails work similar to the mouse over.
It would be nice to hover over the pic and get the profile. Once you check the profile and look or post messages it takes you back to the beginning page.
Looks great!
I read your message carefully and I believe I understand what you are saying and asking for.

If you click on a profile, view it and then go back you remain where you were in whichever results that you were looking at. However, if you open a profile then send them a message then click back twice it takes you back to the top. We will have a discussion about what options might be available for this, possibly a resume button

When you view a profile and use the Back button, it should take you back to where you left off. It does not take you to the beginning. If you are seeing that happen, please let us know where and what device and browser you use.

Overall I like the new site. I would like to see an option when searching for people that if you are outside their age range, they do not show. Similar to how you can check off looking for single guys.
As others have noted, everything is too large on screen.
Additionally, the old site gives people a quick summary of a lot of different information whereas the new site is extremely clicky to get to one part or another rather than just selecting that area from your homepage.
Is it possible to set up a similar Homepage setup on the new site? My thought is the new site looks newer but isn't nearly as functionally efficient.
That's the first thing I noticed and it was frustrating. Will use the old site as long as possible.
There is a project on the books to allow the option to have small medium or large icons.

As for the mouse over effect, it does not work on mobile devices so what we have done is initiate a "Cards" function that allows you to see all of that information in line. We are also considering options for something similar to a mouse over but one that would work on all devices.
Regarding the search filter. Please separate STR and BI in the filter, and add T while you are at it. The search is useless if one cannot find what they are looking for without having to sift a mountain of what we are not looking for.
The filters are on our list to be enhanced as well as additional genders and orientations

Hey love that change is coming one thing I think that would help is a like button where couples or singles can see if you liked them to make it easier to connect to avoid unwanted messages if they aren’t interested by showing they viewed you but didn’t like you back
I gave the beta site a look-see today, and absolutely hated it. HATED IT! If you want to add functionality, that's quite alright but to change the entire look/feel of the site to a ton of other sites with the exact same look/feel? The logic of that escapes me. Shame, as I have enjoyed this site for more years than I care to say, but if the beta site is going to replace the current SLS site, I'm probably a gonner. To paraphrase the late great George Harrison, "All good things shall end."
While I definitely understand your point of view, we have no choice but to modernize the website. The biggest complaint we have is that a site is old. Additionally the existing website has numerous items that have us backed into a corner such as membername change. At some point sls must be either retired completely or overhauled in order to alleviate significant concerns as well as keep up with the times.

One thing that will help I will have fasttracked. We will set the default mode to a new mode called SLS Mode which will make the swing.com default mimic the swinglifestyle.com's color scheme as closely as possible. I believe as the new site flushes out and members see the new features that we add most members will find the new site to be far better. There are many new features on the way that members have been asking for for a long time.

A few items for consideration... We agree with others that everything feels too large, maybe 25% or so, at least on a desktop. Too much wasted space, not enough information in tha space allowed...
Other items:
1 - Filters should be able to filter by any piece of data you have in the screen
2 - Name change should be possible, if for no other reason to fix people's atrocious spelling ;)
3 - Age should not be a relative item. DOB should be required and adjusted as it goes (then everyone won't be 59 anymore"
4 - All gender identifiers should be current and available
5 - Couple combinations should also be as accurate as the members would like them to be. MF, FF, MM, etc...
6 - Should be able to change relationship status if it changes over time single, couple, etc...
7 - If you block whispers in chat, don't send a notification every time someone whispers, it defeats the purpose
Thanks for working so hard on all of this!
These are excellent.
Why not be the first major lifestyle site to get up to date with orientation descriptions? At least Bi-comfortable, hetero-flexible, pan-sexual and transsexual?
Name changing is really important. There are so many people with names like coupleXXX when they are now a single or vice versa. We want to change ours but will lose everything by doing so. Maybe limit how many times it can be done?
Also, in the messages, having folders to sort would be great. Searching through dozens or hundred of messages to find someone is difficult.
Having a list of "play preferences" would be nice. You could list your kinks or desires and then have that be a part of an advanced search.
Additional orientations is on our list.

Name change is problematic due to the database structure. We want that too and will get there one day.

Can you provide more detail on how you envision folders working.

Additional extended profile options for desires, kinks etc. are on our list.
Please hurry with the name change! :)
Orientations will put you ahead of the other sites.
For folders, they could be used created and named (best)
or at least set folders such as
friends
saved for later
interesting
fuckable
etc...
A perfect example is we are traveling in January to a locale we visit for playtime and have to search back a year to try and figure out how to reconnect and reach out to those interested in us but where the timing didn't work out.
We will discuss adding orientations but this is likely a bigger project than is seems.

Member created folders is a great idea but will likely take some time to get.

What we can do is add distance as a sort item to messages so that you can update your location and then see Messages from those nearby. This could be added in a week or two.
Ability to change screen name for sure!!! No reason for this, especially for the ones that have paid for a lifetime membership. Only reason we have not done it is because you lose everything with the current name change. We don't want to go through the pain of retyping and re-submitting all the pics!!!
Being able to change a member name is something we would Love to add but our current system makes this an incredibly difficult and time consuming task.

The creation of swing.com is a major step toward this goal. Swing.com and the app do have this ability but swinglifestyle does not and until that site is retired or has a complete overhaul it is simply not possible. Once Swing.com is complete, swinglifestyle will either have a complete overhaul or be retired. Members can use either site with the same profile, no additional payment is required.
