@FF2, great read, I’ve worked for several HIGHLY successful people, not the folks with a thriving mom and pop business but rather leaders of global companies that were started as grass root companies and their leaders grew them into global superpowers in their industries.
The one thing all of these people have in common is they can be complete and total assholes at times, throwing temper tantrums and berating the person that just screwed the pooch big time.
But you get them away from their 20 hour work day and they can be some of the most caring and kind folks you’ll ever meet.
Trump falls in that category for sure so if it boils down to Biden versus Trump who do you think I’m voting for? The guy that was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has tried to set a new record for days of vacation taken while in office and has made a lifelong career of sponging off of the American people or the guy that refused his paycheck when he was in office; worked 20 hours a day while in office, has experienced bankruptcy and bounced back to regain his billionaire status?
BTW I’m all for term limits for ALL elected officials.

When Trump came up I turned my nose up..I am going to tell you a story and you can call me a liar. I wanted to be a delegate to the Texas party . So I went to the Caucus . It was held at a local HS . So here is ole FF2 dressed and ready to present . Here comes six bus loads of black people . Where they came from who knows . Anyhow the chose the delegates from this group …..It was rigged. The insider party people fluttered around like bugs.

Of course I was disappointed ,one of the couples we run with called me and asked if we would be interested in meeting Trump. My friend is a realtor and Trump was talking to the realtors It was for campaign contributions I told my friend no way I would pay a dime to see that guy. To us it was a lot of money , my friend paid ..Understand we live in Texas nd people are passionate about certain issues . Trump walked in to warm welcome not a MAGA warming . He sat in a steel chair with his hands on his knees. Straight up stiff as a board . The first question was the border ….Trump said NO , I’m going to build a wall , I don’t want Illegal immigration….people moved closer . Someone asked a question about taxes …His answer didn’t take long . He explained his tax plan and said he would be ending a lot of the regulations holding business down . Most of the people there were business people .
But actually he was a serious man and very , very direct no lawyer type talking. Never once did he talk of his billions .

We became Trump supporters . We canvassed and met many what you think are important people . When Trumps
Campaign people met with us they were brilliant . They were mostly New Yorkers . But they treated as human beings .We met Trump later that year in the Woodlands Tx . He was on fire there ,it was a group of maybe 200 before his big rally . The man was working like a dog he was very serious . A live wire. .

Over the years we have met a lot of politicians mostly lawyers , you know how lawyers talk . I used to HATE Ted Cruz . When you get him away from the cameras he is a regular guy . Rick Perry and his wife are fantastic . When you talk to Rick about Trump he just laughs and says that guy made me work like a dog.. I was talking to Morgan Luttrell about if they ever were on AF one . Morgan laughed and said you dont get any sleep Trump is running through the aircraft asking questions. Talking to everybody . Morgan tells a story that he worked for Rick Perry in Energy . Donald Trump came in Ricks office and asked Rick ….Who is over Cyber security for the Energy industry.
Rick told him welllllll. Trump looked at Morgan and asked ..who are you ? Morgan told him he worked for Rick and he was a Navy Seal and had training in cyber security . Trump told Rick , put him over security for the Energy industry.

My point is Trump is not the ogre he is made out to be . I can relate to many things he does Is he perfect NO .
My family was active in politics when I was little my father was a union organizer . I used to see these democrat congressmen asking my dad to work hard . They were all lawyers , with slick down hair. Did we get rich off any of my dad’s work …NO. …I encourage you to become active meet your congressman , senator . You will be surprised most are not bad people ……..Michael Berry a local radio guy always says …Politicians themselves dont. believe 30% of what they say.

A personal WTF for me is I can't remember the last time I actually voted FOR someone instead of against someone for president. Another WTF is that even some of the people that I know that have voted for/support Trump have outright told me they think he's an asshole. You can sum up Trump's 2024 bid for presidency in one word, REVENGE.

FWIW - This is about the person and not politics. Long before Trump was president he came across as an arrogant bully prone to temper tantrums when he didn't get his way. He has not changed as far as I can tell, and that scares me. People don't make their best decisions while having a tantrum. It also makes me wonder WTF makes people think these are acceptable traights for a person filling a role that make them the most powerful person in the free world.

Some think that these traights allow him to get things done. When have you EVER interacted with a person with these traights where you wanted to help/support them to get anything done? The best people at getting things done make you think it was your idea to do what they're trying to get you to do. They do it through concensus, not arrogance/bullying.

If on a sinking ship and one life vest remaining, these folks would give it to Trump before putting it on themselves or their spouse.

A friend was investigated for saying something to the effect that Obama's security better be well prepared because someone would probably take a shot at him sooner rather than later. He was overheard talking at a diner around the time of the 2008 election and some Obama groupie reported him for making a threat. It was months before those idiots stopped questioning everyone he knew.

@Someonescoming; I agree with you, I did not mean that we must support him in all of his actions but simply from the standpoint of "he is the man in the office at this time so he is deserving of our support"

From a political standpoint I'm more of a "no incumbents" kind of guy; you get one term to do your best, grab your lifetime benefits that Joe Schmo and I will never get and then get the hell out of there.

It wasn't an "I'm gonna do this to the Biden", it was a "Trump's gonna do this to Biden" statement. Not sure if rises to a level of criminality.

He wouldn't be the first person I've seen here giddy at their belief that seeing Biden hanging from a noose on the steps of the capitol is just a matter of time. But if the Secret Service investigated everyone who said that there would be at least a million people rounded up, including at least 20 from SLS.

I certainly hope whomever threatened the president, as well as anyone that cheered the OP on, has been removed from SLS, or at a least from the forums, permanently. The powers that be made a big stink about FOSTA but threatening the PotUS is a MUCH bigger deal . Under 18 U.S. Code § 871, threatening the President is a Class E felony. The maximum sentence is 5 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, 3 years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.

I can't report it because the person who posted it blocked me, but I've written to Wayne. Don't know if he's seen it yet.

Not many things in here rise to a level where I would consider reporting it. Not sure how much worse it can get.

I see those trailer mounted cameras around here often, but Im pretty sure it has only been the home Depot and Lowe's parking lots.

I noticed the trailer mounted security camera was chained to the light pole too. No one had stolen the wheels/tires from it. Yet.

This WalMart is in Brooklyn Park. They closed the WalMart in Brooklyn Center- spitting distance to the not-so-nice part of Mpls. that's in the news all the time. WalMart said that store was no longer profitable.

I figure that meant they couldn't stock the shelves fast enough for the shoplifters and just gave up.
