One dead and thirty injured on a Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 flight from London to Singapore. The plane experienced turbulence and dropped 7000 ft. .. Boeing is in trouble again. Singapore Airlines is top notch but also part of the Star Alliance . They normally fly airbuses .

Starting a 3 days ago, someone was wandering around in front of out house- face glued to their smart phone. They approached me and explained their pet had come home missing it's relatively new GPS tracking collar. The App said the collar was in our yard.
Nope, haven't seen it. But you're welcome to look and I'll look around and be careful as I mow... Yesterday they approached me as I was in my backyard. Their App said the collar was now in my garage. WTF? You're welcome to look... They didn't look but I start looking in the garage as they walked home- face buried in their phone's App. I find no collar in my garage but...
A few minutes later they returned as I'm still looking- they found the collar. It was in their yard. They found it because the collar apparently also "beeped" and she heard the collar beep. No idea if that was a setting they just realized and turned on because they had been looking for it for 3 days.
Some tracking collar- you have to be within a few feet of it to hear it and the App says it's 300 feet away from where it really is.
2 nights in a row. Got a call from my "bank" about fraudulent charges on my account. They had quite a bit of info but it was obviously a scam. Their phone kept cutting out and could hardly hear them. Lol.
We aren’t cruise people , most of our friends are . We will go back to Pattayia in October . We stayed at the Classroom Hotel , three star right now we are seeing 29.00 a night. One block from the boardwalk 15 yards from
2nd street , lots of entertainment and Baht busses . Close to night shopping at indoor and outdoor markets. Like most resort towns it looks bad during the day. When the sun goes down whoa so many new sights you will need neck surgery. Thailand is known as the land of endless smiles. Hate to say it but tons of westerners and Australians.an NZ.
Agree FUN just looked at rates from Casa Marina in Key West vs Jaco Marriott Los Suenos ... amazing the difference in money and what you get these days in USA nice resorts vs overseas!
Oct we have Italy, France, Spain already planned on a 12 day cruise with Delta airfare which was on sale with cruise cheaper than anything locally for 12 days!

With the way our property taxes keep going up and up and up, homeless at every major intersection,pot hole filled streets, I could go on….. we’re looking at retiring in Mexico or an island somewhere. Cost of living is so much cheaper and available services (medical,dental,etc.) are just as goods here in the states, not to mention, we’re sick and tired of the huge political divide here in the US. Don’t get me wrong, we’re both patriots and love the US, we just don’t think we can retire here and afford to live the life we want to live when we do.
We drove up to Nashville yesterday , not like it was years ago. Lots of street people and we just don’t care to see that . I know it’s everywhere . I think we are going back to Amsterdam in August and back to Bangkok in October .
We can spend 2 weeks in Bangkok cheaper then 5 days at Fantasy Fest in Key West. Key West wants 500 plus for a room at Fantasy Fest plus 15% tax. Bangkok is 29 / 40 US for a nicer room . Any club you go into or party in KW is nearly 80.00 couple. These are vanilla party clubs.

Since I have a doc appt tomorrow, I tested for Covid when I got home from out trip yesterday. Test came out negative, so it's either allergens or a mild cold. Already feel better after being home a day.
I masked up on a business trip a few of weeks ago because a guy opposite and the row behind was coughing up a lung. Made my skin crawl. Did not mask up coming back fro Eurpoe last September despite a guy one row up and two seats over with a nasty cold and no mask. Sure enough I had a cold two days later and my Girlfriend the day after that.
Ran across my mask coming back from Tessessee last week when I was desperately searching my travel pack for earplugs. Toddler one row in front was screaming like a little monster. Took about forty minutes for that kid to finally scream herself out. Thanks fot the reminder to replenish my supply.
Maybe it’s in our heads , pretty much over it but it sure makes you feel bad for a day then cough and sneeze for a week . Thanks god for Coricidean max.
We don't mask and been on several flights to/from Europe and the West Coast as well as several cruises with no issue here.
Starting on a regimen of Airborne multivitamins a few days before my flight and continuing through out the trip has always worked well for us.
I know you are being sarcastic flip but we masked on our recent flights to London and home and not so much as a sniffle.

Sore throat , coughing and aching all over. Covid.
We are finishing up on 6 nights in London and 4 in Paris. All of us have been coughing and sneezing a lot.
This morning the Mrs was coughing into a napkin and saw tiny black flecks in the tissue. Between all of the car traffic and subway travel, we think that's a large part of it. We'll test for Covid when we get home.
If it is Covid, it is yet another mild case for us. It would be the 3rd time for the Mrs and 2nd time for me.
So you are on the long part of the flight from Singapore to Manchester . The shades are pulled all quiet and then you hear people coughing …….All you can do is say oh …..Last fall coming back from Amsterdam , year before same deal returning home from the Dam.

"A middle school worker in Georgia is out of a job after a student drank vodka from a water bottle that she reportedly brought to school.
Officials said 39-year-old Alexandra Lambert admitted to bringing the water bottle full of vodka to a middle school on Thursday in Morgan County, Georgia.
Officials said the student thought he was drinking Mountain Dew, but soon realized it was something other than soda and reported it.
A breathalyzer test revealed that Lambert was three times over the legal limit."
@ funfor2houston, we went to Houston yesterday morning for grandkids stuff, via HWY 90.
As we came into Liberty we noticed flooding, the Trinity was way out of its banks. Flooded all the way to Dayton. Coming home this morning 90 West bound was closed and it was 2 way traffic on the east bound side between Dayton and Liberty.
We got close to Harvey flooding north east of Houston . We got home from vacation Friday and all we heard was more storms , more storms . We have had solid storms. Just finally drying out today.
How many in south Florida from barrier islands like Sunny Isles, Golden Beach, and all cities south failed to evacuate as major hurricanes hit the coast over the last 25 plus years.. 100's .. and we flat out told them we will NOT send emergency responders over bridges if winds above 35 mph!
