Right now, just iced tea.
So, whatcha drinking
A wonderful cucumber mint gimlet
Unicorn dreams. Lovely purple mixer that tastes like cotton candy, with vodka and lime juice... In an iridescent glass.
Hedo’s Caribbean Joy:
1 oz. Appleton Rum
½ oz. Triple Sec
2 oz. Pineapple Juice
¼ oz. Ginger Ale
¼ oz. Lime Juice
¼ oz. Strawberry Syrup
Otherwise, I'll settle for Kraken Rum and Pepsi
I rarely drink, I nice Michelob Light is my fav.
A treat for me would be Laphroaig Lore, neat please.
In honor of HRM Queen Elizabeth, may she rest in peace, and in solidarity with our friends in Ukraine, I am enjoying a martini made with Shinok vodka from Ukraine... Extra dirty/extra olives. I had heard she enjoyed a martini each evening.
Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier in the hot tub tonight, Bud Lights for the lady.
Water
I missed Mai Tai Monday, so it's the order of the day today.
1 oz each: fresh lime, Appleton 12, Rhum Clément VSOP, 1/2 oz orange curacao, 1/2 oz orgeat, 1/4 oz simple syrup. Fill the shaker with crushed ice, shake the hell out of it and enjoy.
Increasingly, non-alcoholic beverages. Aging and alcohol don't pair well, especially where playtime is anticipated.
A simple Gin and Tonic gets me started.
Have enjoyed perusing through this thread...
I was a Johnny Black on the rocks guy until a house party we hosted about 2 years ago...a couple brought 2 different partial bottles to trade me for some scotches I had and didn't like...they brought 2 from the island of Islay, known for peaty, smokey scotch (Laphroig 10yr single malt Islay scotch, and Sheep Dip- an Islay blend) and that changed everything!! Now it's a collection of mostly Islay scotches, all neat from a Glencairn glass
Kentucky sidecar.
2 oz fresh tangerine juice
0.5 oz lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
1.5 oz bourbon
Mix until the sugar is mostly dissolved and then pour into ice.
Shake and strain and serve with a tangerine slice.
Bacardi Oakheart Rum with one cube. It’s aged in smoked barrels and it doesn’t have a strong rum flavor. It’s very smooth!

Coca-cola Energy drink to get through my work shift ..... What a day. Gonna be a big glass of wine night tonight.
Estate bottled Old Bardstown is a new bourbon favorite. On a whim we purchased a bottle while visiting Ky. and should have purchased more than one.
Room temp
Up or room temp? (The vodka and tequila)
Had some very nice Four Roses this weekend.
Right now, due to the Rays going down to Boston, and sitting on the edge of my seat during the Baltimore/Indianapolis game (in overtime), I’m going straight to the Chaser (thanks Mayhem): vodka shot and tequila shot combined.
Well tonight I cut the agave back some and increased the tequila and lime juice. Undecided as to whether or not it's better. Surprisingly, the result was not noticeably different in sweetness or tartness to either me or Mrs VA.
Va,
Please update us on the updates
Old Forester 1920. Prohibition style
My new mimosa recipe again. Totally digging it. Still optimizing some.
