Conditioning for our April Hedo trip... so it's Red Stripe tonight, Appleton 12 tomorrow night!
So, whatcha drinking
Proper 12 with Orange Cream Soda
My go-to party drink is spiced rum and diet soda. I'll switch between root beer and cola. Never tried fruit punch but I have tried cream soda and birch beer, and those were good too.
I think I mentioned this before, but I like Calypso spiced rum. In NH it's $10/handle and it is less spicy that Captain Morgains. CM is also $17/handle in NH, so I figure, why pay more if you're going to mix it AND you like the taste of the cheap stuff better? Win/win.
I'll be drinking that tonight at the hotel room party we're going to.
Gatorade Blue Ice powder mix made with 7 Up instead of water.
I used to enjoy Captain Morgan's. But then a drinking game. CM and tequila do NOT mix well. I've never wanted CM since.
Fwiw, I won the game.
100pf SoCo & sprite 1:1
Generic fruit punch soda and Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
Don't knock it 'till you try it!
Gin & Tonics. Spending the weekend in Lake Tahoe, and the first night in the hotel is always G&T's ;)~
Coffee
Hofbrau Winter Spezial is a holiday in a bottle. One of my favorite beers now.
Cucumber Lime Vodka and Sprite with a piece of Lime
@ TBR - Sound like a blast, have a great time!
Famous Grouse and ice here, the Mrs is sipping a virgin Cherry Limeade
I've been in Ireland since Thursday.
I've drank over a casino Guinness and a bottle of Irish whisky.
I'm now in Liverpool until Friday.
Hope my liver holds out...
Kraken Rum and Diet Moxie on ice.
I have mostly switched up my go-to drink of spiced rum and diet cola by replacing the cola with root beer. If you like root beer, it's very likely you will like this drink. Problem is that diet cola is everywhere, but diet root beer is not. Sometimes you can't even get root beer at all in a number of restaurants.
FWIW - There is a brand of spiced rum called Calypso that is sold in NH state liquor stores and is usually $9-$10/handle. I actually like it better than the more expensive (top shelf?) Captain Morgans or Sailor Jerrys because it's not as spicy as either of those 2. Plus, why use top shelf when you're adding it to soda?
At this moment, I am washing down my lunch with the cold brew coffee I make. It takes a little time, but is so easy. The Mrs picked up some cloth drawstring closable bags. Just add 1 cup of ground coffee to the bag for every 4 coups of cold water for the container you're using. Simply let it soak on the counter for about 2 days and you have cold brewed coffee.
We have a 1 gal container with a spigot that we use. After the 2 days, we remove the bag and put the container in the frig. The coffee usually comes out a bit on the strong side so I usually add enough water to top off the container after removing the bag, but if you like darker coffee you can drink it as-is.
A nice little cafecito
Sipping coffee
"People actually stop drinking coffee at some point in the day?"
To be fair, I don't really love coffee - the smell is amazing, the taste doesn't measure up - but I haven't been able to drink it after 10am since my very early 20s.
So, OT: water.
I'm actually having an iced coffee now with sweet cream and eggnog. I've been doing cold brewed coffee for a while now. Just add grounds in a muslin bag to a jug of cold water. The ratio is 1 cup of grounds to 4 cups of cold water and soak for 24-48 on the counter.
I have a 1 gal glass jug with a spigot and just do it in that. Once it's brewed you just pull the bag with the grounds out and put the jug in the frig. If it's just me, the gallon lasts me about a week. The Mrs doesn't like coffee, but we sometimes have guests that do.
With cold brew, I can drink 3 or 4 glasses of this if I wanted to and not get that acidy feeling in my stomach that I get after a couple cups of hot brewed coffee.
"My last coffee..."
There is such a thing?
