SLS is a place where you try to make lemonade out of lemons. We do meet and communicate with people here and, knowing that we can't rely on this site, make other arrangements for off-site communication if we plan to meet. The party notifications seem to work better than most of the site because those ARE paying customers. It is also rare that we use Hot Dates, which is something likely to get impacted by SLS's many site glitches of various kinds.
In the meantime, I am seeing a noticable up-tick in activity for SLS competitor sites and we are probably now meeting more on-line people on those sites than we are here.
It definitely helps a lot that we are and have been well established in the LS so as not to rely on this site. Our first big party of 2022 has us with about 50 RSVP Yes's and will probably be 60+ by the time of the party. If we meet and like someone from other parties we attend and they give us SLS contact info, I know to ask for an outside email address,
So while the many SLS glitches are annoying, they rarely ever ruin any plans we make. Just something for others to consider, because other than getting it off your chest, it doesn't do much good to complain about it here. I have to believe they already know how many things are broken and how a lot of their customers feel about this site.
