I have been binge watching “Black Jesus” and I can’t stop laughing. It’s great with some amazing messages and great Bible tie-ins.

I am pretty sure that the way he is portrayed is pretty much like Jesus would have been in Biblical times.

Loved that series!!

Season 2 IMO was amazing.

@Hot

Unlike some shows where the season is posted all at once, theyre metering these in one episode per week. So if you wait you can binge it. Four episodes up so far. Not certain how many are coming but lots of loose ends to tie up and a couple big plot surprises hinted at as still to come.

I still like the fact that they pay some attention to the limitations of time, distance, gravity, etc. At least within our solar system. Though the plot device of "the ring" magically throws all of that out the window

@Current,

Unlike you, I am NOT enjoying Expanse.

I watched a few seasons with my wife, but lately she’s been too busy to watch TV. Social contract says that I am not allowed to watch any more episodes unless I watch them with her… very frustrating.

Thanks. Mostly just a long, long grind. What I learned during the process is that this type of sociopathic behavior, with a number of variations, is not that unusual. Or at least not as exceedingly rare as one would hope.

Back on topic, I'm enjoying the final season of "The Expanse", one show at a time. Remains to be see whether they will manage to wrap it up satisfactorily.

Pretty well and I am very sorry to hear you went through something as traumatic.

@Fokkers:

Am I correct that the story line involves a sociopathic predator? If so, I have one of those in my family whose insidious behavior I dealt with for decades. I also live in a country where I witnessed someone with exactly the same symptoms running the place. So, if so, no thanks. There's no fascination for me. Only disgust and pathos for the victims.

Just my orientation. I'm sure the acting is great.

Current… watch it… the fact this is based on a true story over 30 years makes it fascinating to watch. Will Ferrel (IMO) may have played the role of his life. To think this is the guy from Anchorman or Ricky Bobby and then see him in this dramatic role is a complete contrast. It took me to about episode 4 before I was sold.

Yellowstone last episode was like wow. We love it and 1883

The Shrink Next Door

Watched two episodes. It seems pretty obvious where this is going. Great acting and script but not sure I want to watch a 30 year train wreck unfold, true story or not. Remniscent of the Cohen Brothers film "An Ordinary Man" which was painful but excellent and had a gob smacking ending worth waiting for.

1883 in a new one, only had 3 episodes so for, but looks like its going to be a good one. Tim McGraw Faith Hill Sam Eliot star in it.

8in… Agree. And as you added the fact it’s a true story just makes it even better.

"Parking Wars" on in the mornings. Stupid people are when it comes to their cars, reading parking signs and having their info.

Netflix "137 Shots".

A car backfires, called a drive-by single shot, promoting a 62 police car chase. Thirteen officers surrounded the car and shoot 137 rounds at two unarmed "suspects" inside the vehicle.

Dopesick is a great series.

Shows Big Pharma as the pimpin drug dealers it really is.

Really digging Doom Patrol. It's about a band of unlikely, often unlikable, battered and bruised don't-really-want-to-be antisuperheroes, each in search of answers about who they are, how they came to be, and where they go from here. The biggest names are Timothy Dalton and Brandon Fraser (who proves he really CAN act, but it takes several episodes to get to the depths of his character), but Dianne Guerrero, Matt Bomer and April Bowlby all deliver amazing performances.

What makes this one stand out for me is the acting. It seems over-the-top/campy at times, but when they dig into the emotions of a character they nail it. While they haven't been nominated for an Emmy for acting yet, a good number of them should be.

Yeah, Marbles was a great episode. If they used cards like Alice in Borderlands, I think it would be the King of Hearts.

Obviously we've watched Alice as well. Yeah, backstory would help, but I'm not counting on it. That's what's going to drive most folks to watch Season 2. We'll be watching. If you've got speculation about where it's going, feel free to DM me. I'd be curious to know your thoughts.

Without spoilers, the series of shots that got me hooked on Squid Game was the montage towards the end of episode two. Emotions laid bare without words. The timing, the weather, the pacing, they all contributed but ultimately it was the actors themselves that managed to communicate how deeply their emotions went. I'll be watching Season 2 of that one as well, tho' my wife won't. She's like several other posters in the thread: The basic premise doesn't sound appealing.

We're watching Hellbound, not really digging it. It's an interesting plot device but the actors largely can't carry the script. Hopefully they'll get me more intrigued as we finish it up.

Better Call Saul has finally finished shooting season 6 and should be airing in a few months. I am really looking forward to it.
