So, you envision like a Super Melvin to the rescue type of thing?[/quote]No. Just in the right place at the right time.

Observation:
I am on a chartered bus as I type this, en route to my college graduation. Ever since I earned a commercial driver's license, I have always envisioned the scenario from the movie Speed and what would need to happen if the chartered bus driver has an issue, while behind the wheel. Though that type of scenario is not likely, I still at least am prepared to do something like that.

This article was an interesting read. I had admired Steve McMichael growing up, but had no idea what happened to him after his playing career. Now I know...
But, what makes the article interesting to me is, the connection of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS.) Neuromuscular degradation is a topic that is dear to my heart, as it something that a late family member dealt with. To me, with what I have read and studied over the years about neuromuscular degradation, it has a lot of crossover with physical head trauma and long term mental stress on the brain. There are a lot of neuromuscular disorders and a lot of neuromuscular degradation disorders. The common theme that I observe though is, long term physical brain trauma and long term mental stress, or, brain trauma at birth (birth defects.)
@Good - “ I think I saw a bird poking it's head out of a couple…”
Ok, things are getting interesting in here again.
Let that freak flag fly, Brother Good!

The facial hair vs. no facial hair debate sometimes seems as passionate as the daylight savings time or no DLST debate. lol"
Around here it's not the DLST or No DLST debate, it's the squirt vs. pee debate.
Pee on my facial hair and I'll be pissed off.
FWIW, neither I nor Mrs. G are anti-facial hair (on guys). I have a short beard (about 1/2") that I keep trimmed. I've had it since I almost frostbit my chin on a snowmobile when I was about 20. It's nothing like the Grizzly Adams or prepubescent teen look we saw recently.
I shaved it once, leaving the moustache. A woman I worked with came into my office the day I did it and said there was something different about me but she couldn't figure out what it was. Well, that was certainly observant of her...
She kept poking her head in various times during the day, looking, trying to figure it out. Finally she ecstatically proclaimed that she figured it out- I grew a moustache.
I said, no I shaved my beard. The whole office cracked up laughing at her powers of observation.
:-D
Duly noted for Mrs. Funly.

Mrs. FF will not kiss a man with facial hair
I know better, but I looked at approving a few pictures.
I observed an increase in the number of guys with facial hair who should reevaluate their choice of facial hair.
I think I saw a bird poking it's head out of a couple, and others that I wasn't even sure if it was supposed to be a beard or they had just hugged a shedding sheep dog.

When someone local to you has repeatedly viewed your profile for over a year who is not what you are seeking in the lifestyle and you send them a message calling them out on their obsession and they voluntarily block you as a result of your message to them, it is a win for yourself. You no longer have an online stalker!
:-D
"Just started approving profiles and pics..."
How long did the first gallon of eye bleach last you?
@funly I would say well over half are singles with that percentage being more men. Couples tend to be older, 50+
@BIGK, what percent of profiles you read would you say are single people?
Just started approving profiles and pics. Finding that a lot of the profiles begin as free. Hope these people realize how limited this site will be for them as free. Hope many become paid to take advantage of the upgrades. Am impressed by the number of profiles each day requesting approval, I think the lifestyle at least on SLS is pretty healthy.
Hope everyone has fun.
Late to the party, but twas quite nice putting names and faces together, breaking bread and sipping spirits.

Looking forward to next time!
Rightbacatcha!
We enjoyed finally meeting you two as well and glad you had a great weekend to enjoy FQF.
Joining you, BT and Peghey for drinks was a blast.
Looking forward to next time!
I've met dozens of forum posters over the years, fewer in recent times but I'm looking forward to meeting two new participants this weekend who are in town for French Quarter Fest. Also looking forward to seeing a long-time friend, Peghey19, who I will be picking up from the airport tonight.
~Scamp
Not sure who that may have been but I will out ourselves and say we had a blast meeting the famous Scamp & Rabbit after 1-2 decades of typing here. It was a great pleasure to have drinks with 4 of the fora co-anchors. I can also certify that Scamp told me he owed me a beer about 12 years ago, and he made good on that promise. Great weekend in NOLA!
Spring has officially arrived to all parts of the northern hemisphere; hibernation is over and the long slumbering critters are ravenous.
Just an observation.

It is April 15th, Tax Filing Deadline Day!
Kelly Jean's back on the site again, with a different user name, although I think she's mostly lurking at the moment. She messaged me to say hello a few weeks ago.
Anybody hear from Beata anymore?
Still FB friends with a handful... probably been at least 4-5 years since we've seen any of them in person.
