Back in the days of "Laugh in", there was a lot less content. Just sheer competition alone would make it unlikely that a show like that would succeed today.

Some things do remain somewhat timeless though, unfortunately. Some people can't help themselves when it comes to Jerry Springer-like TV.

Sadly, TV shows with honest comedy do not draw in audiences anymore. It is all about now, who is the richest fake beauty person or drama. Clean TV will never exist in current time, unless a culture shift happens, across many generations of people currently living or yet to be born.

Rest in peace honest, pure and clean TV.

I hadn't heard about Ruth Buzzi but Jill Sobule's death is big news around here.

I think that Jill Sobule's "I kissed A Girl" did a lot for the acceptance of LGBTQ community/movement. We liked her music.

@Good - Not at all. Most of the apostles weren’t the most savory folk and their leader was essentially a radical hippie who likely looked more akin to Osama Bin Laden than the blonde haired, blue eyed gent he morphed into over the years.

Pope Francis probably wouldn't get the motivations around being on a sex site, but he was the closest a pope has come in a long time to following the tenets of Jesus, so I doubt he'd mind his death being mentioned here.
