Your question is not really needed as you already knew the answer, stick with SLS messaging you'll be fine. If the other party insists on an outside source dump them until you've actually met & trust them.

Update.
I sent my email.
They responded and now they want to switch to google chat. Because it is better than SLS, email or phone.
Am I wrong to feel baited?
I feel like I'm trying sleep with a CIA agent.
Sign and counter sign are next.

We used to only do email but with some burner phone apps now, it's pretty easy to use the cell. Although if I had a company phone. Id probably only use email.

I met a couple on SLS.
They said in their profile that they will only communicate by email and will never give a phone number.
I suppose I could send an email if I get lost trying to find the place we agreed to meet. But since you can buy a burner phone anywhere or use one of those services that forwards the calls to your real phone, is it normal for someone to only communicate by email?
If it is a scam, what will they gain by email?
I suppose they could claim they are an African prince and the rebels took their phone and all they have is a computer in the coffee shop and they need my help to get a few billion out of the country, but other than that, I can't think of any scam they could try.
