Why is that? And I was thinking, the thing that everyone has in common here is everyone has an extreme bond, a very solid bond with their partner. I totally agree. And that takes hard work to be very emotionally aware and very considerate. It takes a lot of hard work. Everyone here has a very strong bond with their wife or husband. And I think you meet friends you apply that to your friendships i feel like you grow closely very quickly and that's really special absolutely i love it very open-minded positive people that build each other up and i agree i'm thinking about that all day and i'm just really happy to be part of this family i'm very happy too and just happy to be here honestly what a special group of people we're happy to be here happy to share this journey with all of you guys out there and you know thanks for following along on all our crazy journeys and being with us and it's just super nice to be here i appreciate it so likewise we love you life of spice loves y'all hi guys hi it's sexy swinger chick and sexy swinger dude brad we're here at vibe in nashville we're having a blast yeah it's so much fun wish y'all could be here but yeah we have a lot of amazing stories to tell you guys yeah but listen up and wait and and you'll hear all the good stories. Long time coming. We've been trying to get to a Vibe Party. We have. When I was a unicorn, I can remember all of my friends going to Vibe Parties, and I always wanted to go, and I never got to go. So this has been like years in the making. Well, here you are. I'm here. You made it. right and nick i got that correct right yep and uh they are the the owners or well we don't really title i don't want to mess it up well i guess you know we own the equipment okay we don't uh i mean i don't know how to put it we we don't consider ourselves the owners of the club you You know, we just kind of set things up for our tribe. Facilitators is probably a good word, yeah. That's awesome. Yeah, so we're here with them, and we're about to, it's early Saturday evening, and we're about to attend the event. But we just want to sit down with them and talk to them a little bit about Vibe and what they do and what they've built here so you guys can learn from that. So usually when we talk to people, we like to start kind of from the beginning. So if you guys want to talk a little bit about yourselves, how long you've been married, how you've gotten a lifestyle, we'll start there. And then I guess we'll go from there with our questions. Wow, you're going to make us tell our ages. And you can answer that. I'm not sure how long we've been married it's been a long time yes it's been we've been together let's say just over 30 years okay uh yeah i met her when i was two and she was about 17 so she did it um yeah we uh But how we got into lifestyle is we talked about it for seemingly ever um and i used to uh have a job where i traveled a lot and i was in los angeles and after we had done all the touristy things and stuff like that in los angeles they have these uh newspapers uh machines that are on the you know side of the road and stuff and we saw yeah well yeah Al Gore hadn't invented an internet yet it was just in an infancy and we were out there and we were just driving around we were in Anaheim and we picked up this paper and we opened it up. It was an adult thing. We went for the R-rated version and opened it up, and there was this swing club in there. And after about six hours of going, well, you want to go? I don't know, you want to go? I don't know, you want to go? We just decided to believe it. Well, there's nothing else to do. Yeah. Yeah. In Los Angeles, there's nothing else to do. Well, we had done all the touristy stuff yeah we've been to the desert we've been to the beach yeah hollywood hills all that stuff and so we ended up at this party and that's how it kind of started um and it was a house party but it was a big part yeah yeah and uh that's where that's yeah that's where it started then then we didn't do anything for quite a few years uh so did y'all play with a couple your first time at the party, or did you just go and observe? Can I ask that? Yeah, ask anything. Or did you, like, jump right in, or how was it? No, we pretty well jumped right in. I see her smile. I think it was fun. Yeah, yeah, it was a blast. So we went there. He asked me, which one do you want oh smart man well well the way that so we went there you know maybe a couple you know we're looking for and honestly there wasn't any couples there that that we found interesting or or anything like that and uh so i was like well you see anything you want yeah and she was him that's pretty awesome so that and that's how we started such a good husband yes such a good husband okay and then yeah after years later that uh we were uh at the time we We were in pensacola florida and then we attended a small social down there and it just kind of grew out from that and uh so we lived in pensacola and believe it or not the first couple that we had met was a couple that was from very close to where I grew up. I grew up in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. And they were very close to there, but her parents lived in Pensacola. They wrote us a letter, and that was really our first couple. So to find your first couple, they wrote you a letter?
Speaker2:
Yeah.
Speaker1:
So how did they find your information?
Speaker2:
To be perfectly honest, we were on some website. i don't remember what the name of it was yeah that's why i was asking yeah that's why i'm asking yeah yes because i've heard of the like magazines with the ads in the back or stuff like that so i was curious if that's how they got your information oh no no uh al gore uh finally did in the internet so at this point you were online. You had posted your information somewhere online. Yeah, and it was one of those where you see the picture, you know, kind of download and, you know. Yeah. It's like a curtain. The dial up, yeah. Yeah, and I've got to be honest, I mean, it was a picture of her ass. Yeah, it usually always is, right? It's always the girl. Yeah, yeah, it was. And, yeah, they wrote us and said, hey, we're coming down there, and we went and hung out. Yeah, that was, it was awesome. Yeah. And from there on in, it was either downhill or uphill, whichever way you want to look it. I mean, it was like 15 years of one thing, and then nothing for thing and then nothing for two years. So you slowly... And after about 10, 15 years, then it started becoming more active. That's awesome. And we never previously considered it a lifestyle. It was a hobby. Yeah. So then, where does vibe come into the picture? How did we go from something every few years? How did we go from a couple years playing to now you host an event or you facilitate an event?
Speaker1:
Well, let's give a pause and let your Swing Nation followers go get a cup of coffee or something like that. This is going to take a few. We were helping out another club, and we were kind of doing their production stuff. Sound and lights. Sound and lights. Sound system lights. And he's in a van, so he had to. Oh, gotcha. So we... I should let you take over over here, then. Huh? So we volunteered to use of our lights because it was kind of drab looking when we went into the room the first time and you know we we saw uh an opportunity to kind of liven up the room and just a few lights and things like that well that turned into uh seemingly ever that we were helping them out and almost six years yeah and then uh a good friend of ours uh um jim invited or he him and his crew came to uh one of my bands when we were playing out and he said well we've come to party with you now it's time for you to come party with us. And this was in December of 15. And we, yeah, absolutely, we're going to do this. So we did that, and we signed up to go to a vibe party. It was Valentine's. In Valentine's.
Speaker2:
In 2016. Yep.
Speaker1:
And, of course, the other club saw it. The other club kind of had a, let's say, a little attitude about. You going to a different club. Us going to a different event. Right. Yeah. So there was a little fallout there, but we went anyway because we told them that we would come, and that's what we're going to do. Yeah. We had a great time. ever it was just fantastic yeah and uh the very next party uh we owned it wow that's awesome yeah it was it was great so how many parties a year do you host or facilitate whatever we call it actually it's funny you ask because we just counted that up because we did a poll online uh we saw that on Facebook, yeah. We average every six to eight weeks. Okay, six to eight weeks. We don't do it religiously every month. Yeah, yeah. Because, I mean, it costs a lot of money. I would imagine so. For couples to come in, the outfits, you know, the hotel, travel, you know, all that. So we do it every six eight months kind of separate it and it comes to six right weeks i'm sorry six eight weeks apart but it's uh maybe eight or nine a year a year that's awesome how many couples would you say normally attend i mean because like i'll be honest with you i never came to a vibe party and everybody's like okay so if you want to stay at the hotel you need to you have to book within. And I literally set an alarm on my phone. And I got a room, though. I did what I was supposed to. So, obviously, y'all are doing something right if it's selling out that quick. Well, our record is three minutes. Oh, really? Wow. That's awesome. That usually is within an hour. Yeah. And we average, you know, 2020, 2021. Yeah, yeah. The numbers are down. We're starting to get them back. But we average 400 to 500.
Speaker2:
Wow. Now.
Speaker1:
Like our big party, Halloween, the big parties, they're up 700, 800.
Speaker2:
Wow.
Speaker1:
That's crazy.
Speaker2:
Yeah.
Speaker1:
Our glow party, which is coming up April 8th and 9th i think or that weekend anyway uh that's one of our our bigger attended ones that's coming and we we expect to probably have to open up both floors of the building yeah to hold it two djs and stuff we expect it if we don't have to we won't yeah it all it all just depends you know we it interrupts the vibe if you spread people out too far yeah i agree i like being all like i like staying here i like not having to leave i love right yeah it's all in one place yeah so you said you emceed your second event you ever went to so then you just kind of took over from there is that like yeah we we uh uh so i was i was driving home and uh uh the the previous owners uh jeff and tracy and uh whitney and phil uh gave us a call and says hey we were talking to some mutual friends and you know we're kind of tired i'm doing it yeah and uh um would you be interested in buying it? And I was like, I don't know. Let me put you off a little bit and talk to Shelly. So I was at home, and Shelly came home from work, and I says, I got a strange phone call today, and this is what was said, and Shelly's answer was, no. Oh, hell no. Yeah, hell no. And I'm literally standing in the foyer with grocery bags, Thank you. this is what was said and Shelly's answer was no well hell no yeah hell no and I'm literally standing in the foyer with grocery bags yeah and I went straight to the kitchen to make dinner because I know how much work it is yeah and all that but then curiosity got the best to me yeah and so after dinner okay what's going on and he laid out what what they yeah and actually um our crew yeah we've known them all for 15 years three couples and so first thing we did was we talked to them yeah would you you know would they support us would they would they think it was a good idea if one of them had said no we wouldn't have bought it yeah but everyone and they are with us today that's awesome yeah yeah they're like the best we started with them and they've been with us ever since yeah it is interesting so when we you know we've been trying to go to divide for a while and we finally booked one and then we wanted to reach out and say okay like who do we talk to you know we're coming you know we have this podcast you know we have a small you know we have a tiktok following you know who do we talk to to sit down and interview somebody and everybody it was very much like this is a tribe like there's no yeah you can talk to anybody like it yeah like uh you know like there's no like you know like i don't know when we've reached out to people before it's like you know like you go to this one person yeah and this it is interesting that you guys very much seem from what are the outside perspective is you know it's it's a group of people and it's it's a tribe that you know of swingers that um seem very loyal and dedicated to this event it really is feel like they're part of a community it really is and it's a phenomenon that i've not been able to explain uh everybody has you know takes ownership in the club and you know we don't say you know when we address everybody on the facebook page we don't say you know uh come to our party or it's your party. And it is, it's theirs. And everybody takes ownership of it and it polices itself. We have so little drama. Yeah. You're always going to have a little bit here and there. But it's just everybody kind of, nobody wants their party peed on kind of thing. So it's, they that they you know somebody's stepping out of line others will step in and we don't have to a lot of times but if we we have to we will you know we have no issue with it but it's so little drama it's it's phenomenal and our members are amazing yeah group of people. Yeah.
Speaker2:
If you're a couple, you automatically get approved. You get the benefit of the doubt. We do highly screen singles.
Speaker1:
Yeah.
Speaker2:
With that.
Speaker1:
But we don't care what your age is, your weight, anything like that. And it is so great. They come here from, you know, some are called groupies. They don't play, but they like the atmosphere.
Speaker2:
Yeah.
Speaker1:
And they go back to their room and have the best sex that they had since the last part.
Speaker2:
Thank you. You know, some are, I call them groupies. They don't play, but they like the atmosphere of the clerk. And they go back to their room and have the best sex that they had since the last part. And then we have all the way up to your total freaks. Yeah. Like Gary. Yeah. Gary, you got called out. They all mingle together. Nobody pushes anything on each other. And it just makes it the best atmosphere yeah yeah it's it is interesting so we've we've interviewed a few uh hotel takeover you know owners i guess or however you want to word that and they they you know it's an interesting thing they kind of said the same thing that a lot of people that come to our events they said they just want to go and have fun like they just want to go you know they're usually older and they can't go to a club with like 20 year olds right but you know they want to get out they want to get dressed up they want to look sexy they want to you know dance and have fun and they said you know and they were saying the same thing like half the people that come is just for that like they're they're not looking to fuck or play or yeah that's sex with anybody they just want to go and have fun yeah yeah it sounds like you guys are saying a very similar thing to that one of our things when we took it over was i mean we've been to parties yeah you know two two days whatever and yes you meet people and but to get like two couples to actually click together at the same time yeah it usually doesn't work yeah so and we'd go home on sunday well that was kind of a waste of time and money so our thing was when you left leave sunday at minimum we want you to say, that was a good fucking party. Yeah. And if you hooked up, awesome. Yeah. But at least you made all these contacts. Yeah. For later. You're right. Yeah, because, like, we've been to so many parties, and, like, a lot of times, especially hotel takeovers, because you don't have a lot of time to, like, chat and get to know them, and then make the transition back. We've not played at a lot of hotel tech i mean we had sex each other but like you know it's hard to make those connections in such a short amount of time when you got loud music and dancing and stuff like that you said hard but i mean we have people from 10 12 different states yeah here you people fly in. Yeah. One of our pool parties, we had representatives from 17 different states and Bermuda. Wow. You know, so, I mean, you get them from all over. Somebody was saying they were coming from overseas. Yeah. Did you see that? We saw it on TikTok. Yeah, Ireland or something. Something crazy. Yeah. Oh, really? I have to meet them. Yeah, if I find them. I'm sure they'll speak to us. If they do, I'll make sure I'll introduce. We did have one of the parties. I forget which one it was. I think it was a glow party. We had a couple that was from England who was in Southern California and somehow heard or knew about the party and changed their flight plans to where they had a layover and stopped in Nashville just to come to the Vibe party. Yeah, so I guess on that note, do you guys advertise? How do you find out about Vibe? We don't advertise. We don't market. I was kind of nervous about doing this. Were you? But it's word of mouth. Our people, people you know they they go all over and it's our people that do it and it i mean it's if we marketed more we couldn't handle it yeah you're not the first hotel takeover that said that either they were like we don't have to people just are just come in yeah yeah but y'all's logo is pretty good because everywhere we go we see it we were at hedo and that's our people there i was like oh look it's my people so whoever designed the logo did a very good job that was actually for us but they y'all have done a good job of continuing it and getting it out and for the the audio audience their logo is vibe spelled out, but the I is like a sexy girl kind of outfit. Yeah, it's pretty cool, yeah. But they're merchandise whenever your place is. You'll see it. You'll see hats and shirts and stuff. I mean, it's pretty recognizable. Well, I mean, I've got to tell you where the merchandise came in. Yeah. It's like our third party here at this hotel. And I'm walking down the hallway, and there's these two couples coming towards me and they have on these vibe uh t-shirts that were if it's not a party it's not a party oh and i was like oh i like your shirt yeah never met them before they're brand new well one of the couples owns a print shop so i mean we mean, we don't, to try to do it ourselves.
Speaker1:

Are you happy where you're at? Well, we're really happy where we're at, but what we're planning is I'm going to retire from my 9 to 5 here. I was going to ask if you all still work, if you work normal. I do. Vanilla Johns, yeah. And as soon as I retire, we're going to go one party north of here, one party south of here, one party east of here, one party west of here. And that's just in addition to the seven to nine parties we do here in Nashville. Nashville's our home. We're not leaving it. So you have done, I think, you've done parties at other locations, right? Was it something in Chattanooga? Chattanooga. Yeah, that's it. You do that once a year? We do that once a year. it's in a place where there's about four or five hotels that's around there. This is pre-pandemic, of course. But the one we had, I think, before the pandemic, we had sold out four of them, I think. Wow. And it was incredible. We feed you when you come. We have somebody to bring a smoker out and, you know, 200, 300 pounds of meat. We make the pasta salads and all that stuff. So, yeah, it's awesome. We put out the Friday. It starts at the night. And then there's a couple out in the night, and then we put official or unofficial schedule. Oh. Starts at 12, 8, 12 on Friday, ends at Sunday at 11 a.m. Oh, wow. Check out. I mean, it doesn't stop. That's awesome. It just goes. Yeah, we try to define the times, you know. So, you come in Friday, we're going to have, you know, a little pool get together, 9 to 12. And then we're going to pick up X amount in the morning, Saturday morning to go to like 4 o'clock, give the girls time to change. Then pick up, you know, a little bit later and then go until the wee hours. Yeah, nobody listens. Nobody listens. No, they're just going to do whatever they want. They show up. Well, it started as Thursday and started partying. Now it's Wednesday they show up and start partying. And it's just absolutely crazy. Yeah, so I guess, I mean, on that, you guys have been in and around the lifestyle for a while. A big part of what me and Lacey do is, you know, we're trying to shed a positive light on the lifestyle, right? We think a lot of swingers out there you know we've always the community has always kind of been underground right you know now that it's 2022 people are a lot more open you know obviously we don't want to force anybody into the open we would never expose anybody that didn't want to be exposed but i think you know showing people the vanilla world that there is a community of non-monogamous people out there and that they are just normal people right they're not who you would expect them to be they are uh what you see in hollywood what you see in the movies isn't necessarily the best representation of our lifestyle um has you know over the last 20 plus years has the lifestyle changed is it the same do you think it's growing do you think it's expanding uh do you think people are being more open what are kind of your thoughts on some of that stuff uh you step in on Let's go. change is it the same do you think it's growing do you think it's expanding uh do you think people are being more open what are kind of your thoughts on some of that stuff uh you stepped in on that one because i have my own thoughts on it but well i mean i think it's growing it's more open yeah um it's more acceptable now now some are totally private quiet that nobody and some will post stuff on their front door yeah you know and but it's their decision and their choice but i mean like here we have every you know we have people who may have to save six months yeah you know to come to the bike party yeah up to multi-millionaires that's what i love about the lifestyle is there's some of there's a little bit of everything you know and once you walk through the doors it doesn't matter how much money they all blend together and and they all have a great time together yeah so i mean but i mean there's nurses teacher teachers are freaks oh yeah teachers are nurses teachers are nurses top two swing nation i mean we have judges yeah rock stars that yeah yeah pop in every now and then yeah but nobody's asking for autographs from the Marine, and they're just normal members. Oh, I got to tell you, so we're going to call Jamie out on this one here. She had her favorite, let's just say sports figure, because I don't want to give a name or where direction is going for discretion purposes but it was her favorite athlete let's call him okay and he showed up at wow at a by party and of course he had changed over the years and stuff yeah and when she saw him she actually made him pull out his driver's license to prove that it was actually him. That's so funny. It's hilarious. We love Jamie. Okay, other than Jamie, our people don't. Yeah. There's one in every bunch. There's one in every bunch. We got to go, Jamie. But what did you say? Did you want to give your opinion on how it's changing and what the lifestyle well i actually thought our opinions were different but yeah i see it i mean i see it growing immensely yeah you know when uh it's it's incredible you know you're talking about in jamaica and you saw the vibe shirts and stuff we had just purchased vibe and we were down there and we saw the same thing yeah we're like wow were you there in october for the miss new swimsuit contest no he's talking about when they first purchased yeah we'll be very first yeah yeah uh but we are going to the miss new swimsuit are you yeah we have us that's where we saw the blind people yeah we have miss jennifer down there she's going to be representing us uh this year um but yet we've seen it grow i mean i know what you're talking about it's like in the the movies you see everybody with the you know burt reynolds mustache yeah yeah you know and the uh you know like in old school you know i'm here for the gang bang guy yeah you know those kind to just people that i mean sometimes we like to sit around and go do you think? Yeah. they are yeah right and and I bet you 75 percent of them were right because it's people people in the lifestyle that that show up and like you said earlier they're just normal everyday people there is you know nothing I don't want to say remarkable but I'll say identifiable identifiable about him. And it's so cool because then you see him coming up at a party and yeah, I was reading an article one time and they were talking about swingers and essentially, you know, it was like, they were looking to see if you could pick a, you know, like swingers are usually this type of people, right? This type of, and they said, there's no real, the statistics are everywhere, right? There's no real clear, like, clear like hey you know it's usually this political party in this job in this this you know income bracket or it's a little bit of everything they were saying it's truly people in the lifestyle come from all walks of life yeah it is i think one of my favorite parts about it is that that wide variety and that makes it interesting when you come to an event everybody leaves that in their car and when they come inside it's an equal playing field playing field. And I just want to get to know you for who you are as a person and connect on that individual level. And if we make a connection, then we can go in the back room and be freaks. Yeah. I mean, I think if the country can see and come to a vibe party and see, you know, because we get all this how divided this country is and stuff like that. I think that the world could take some tips from swingers. Absolutely. Personally, we were at Secrets, and I think we were talking about that. We were like, if the world could just leave everything and just love one another and have fun and not care where you come from, what you have, what you don't have. And that's a vibe party. I mean, you have everything from bikers to engineers, she, you know, she was alluded to a while ago. You know, all these people from different backgrounds and they get together and they're happy to see one another. Yeah. Yeah. It's incredible. I mean, I just, it's my favorite part. Yeah. It's my favorite part. That's awesome. So, you know, we talked about this a little bit, but a lot of our listeners are maybe new. Maybe they're not in the lifestyle. Maybe they're thinking about joining the lifestyle. They're curious. What would you say to people that maybe are just contemplating this or just maybe thinking about going to an event or a party? What would be your advice? Any tips? Any pro tips? What would your recommendations be to somebody like that? Talk about it. Set your rules. Set what your expectations of each other are. And hang your toes off the diving board. Take a deep breath and jump in. Because it's not like what you think it's going to be. It's not a huge orgy where you see all these naked people. Unless you want it to be. Unless you want it to be. I'm not saying that's not there. Wait, the pool's not going to be there? We need a refund. Oh, just you wait. Well, I'm talking about when you first step in. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I mean, it's, you know, you come to ours, like when you come to a vibe party, we want you to have that wow factor when you step through the door that you think that you're in like a Vegas nightclub. Yeah. Or, you know, some big city nightclub that you see about or read about or something. That's what we try to do. You know, we have computer-controlled lights. lights you know our sound system is just massive you know and it's massive you know so it's controllable uh we have all the trusses going everywhere so it gives it that that nightclub feel and that's what we want and so that when you come in you go oh it's not beds everywhere and naked people and stuff like that. You see people out there dancing and getting a freak on and having fun. Now, you know, we do have the ones that you can tell where they're at by the trail of clothes that they leave from the door to the dance floor. Well, it's always a process, right? It's always a process. You start dressed and you slowly peel the layers off. But yeah, it's yeah it's i i wonder i'd i'd love for everybody to you know go to a club of your choice you know pick out you know see if you find the uh the uh couples that you're attracted to and make contact if you want to do that you know set your expectations and go go and jump in. You won't regret it. Okay.
Speaker2:
Yes, go right ahead. Give us your two cents. The one thing I want to mention, a couple that's contemplating getting into it. Yeah.
Speaker1:
Getting into the lifestyle will not fix a problem.
Speaker2:
Correct.
Speaker1:
In your relationship.
Speaker2:
Thank you.
Speaker1:
It will enhance a good relationship. You can see it from a mile away.
Speaker2:
Yeah.
Speaker1:
But if you're having problems in your relationship, this is not going to fix it. Correct. I 1,000% agree with that. After our first party, I'll be honest with you, I wore that shit out for about six times a day. We even went to a horse race later that afternoon, and I was looking for a place to take her. Yeah, it's mean it's very hot oh my god it was yeah yeah it's incredible you there's there was not a feel like it and you know no jealousy no nothing it was it was just awesome yeah all right so uh if people are coming to nashville if they're to attend a Vibe event, how do they find you guys? How do they get signed up? How do they come, see your parties, and attend your event? The best thing is to come to our website and put it in your membership application, which is partiesbyvibe.com. Awesome, and we'll tag it in the show notes, so it'll be quick. Partiesbyvibe.com, and we'll put that in the show notes for anybody that is going to be in the Nashville area and wants to attend an event. And it's free to be on our website. We do post our events on SLS. Okay. But they go up the next day after we release them on the site, so the rooms are already gone. Okay. You're not going to get a room on there. So when's the next party? August 8th. April. And that's the Globe Party? That's the Globe Party. That's awesome. Yeah. That's one of our biggest. You're going to want to get signed up on their website. Set an alarm on your phone. Set an alarm for when the party drops. And hit refresh. Because, I mean, I did it. I got a room my first time. So I was kind of proud. Wow. Yeah, I was quick. That rarely happens, by the way. Rarely happens. I was ready. I was like, okay, let's do this.
