Welcome to the Swing Nation podcast, a podcast by swingers for swingers, where we look to educate others and push back on the negative stigmas and misconceptions associated with our lifestyle.
Come with us and share our pineapple journey as we travel the globe, interview the experts, learn and grow together. Join the nation. Lacey, we get approached by couples all the time and they want to know, like, where can they learn the one-on-ones of non-monogamy? Yeah, I totally get it. You want to get in the lifestyle, but you just don't know where to start. We recommend Sex by Sue's class on non-monogamy.
i totally get it you want to get in the lifestyle but you just don't know where to start we recommend sex by sue's class on non-monogamy she really helps couples learn how to communicate and do the lifestyle the correct way yeah i think this lifestyle you know it's crucial not to to step on the landmines that a lot of us do yeah and you kind of learn the hard way you know so having a class can take online, you know, in the privacy of your own home and kind of learn the ins and outs, learn, you know, how to approach the lifestyle, how to communicate with your partner about it.
You know, I think it's something worth taking and we highly recommend it. Yeah. So click below in the show notes. You'll find this link for that course. Check it out, guys. Bye. Most people have unprotected oral sex, right? Be honest. Now think about your last STD test. Did your doctor tickle your throat with something that looked like a giant Q-tip? Probably not. Yet that's the only way to check for oral gonorrhea or chlamydia, which are often asymptomatic. You need a better doctor. You need shamelesscare.com. Use coupon code TSN at checkout.
So Lacey, people are asking, how do they get to go to a party or an event with us? They check out swingersociety.net. You create a profile, you sign up for an event, and you come hang out with us. Super easy.
easy that's right if you want to party with us and the other faces and names that you know from social media and tiktok head on over to swingersociety.net can't wait to see you there hey there pineapple people and welcome to the swing nation podcast we are your hosts northern guy and southern girl in today's episode we are going to be your tour guides uh for naughty and orleans we are so we've been once um a lot of people ask us questions about it because it is um a little bit overwhelming to think about because it is such a big event so So we thought it would be fun to kind of break it down for people that are thinking about going or maybe have booked and kind of want to know what to expect.
Yeah, so we actually just did a kind of a meet and greet slash meeting with the people on the Swinger Society Discord server that are are going and we went through a lot of the same stuff with them and then because of that you're like you know we should really do a podcast about that because i bet there's you know if we have people in the discord that are wondering uh you don't have these questions there's probably maybe other people that are going that have the same questions yeah and we did one of these first secrets um a few months ago and so i think it's just it's good for people that and even if you're listening to this two years later i think someone like a lot of this probably will still apply or give you a good sense of kind of what you're getting yourself into so i think it's a good idea yeah and so to be fair i think you said it a minute ago but this is we've only been to naughty in New Orleans one time.
I know there's lots of other podcasters and influencers and people on the Internet that have probably been way more times than us or probably have more knowledge about Naughty than we do. But this is just some basic guidelines to help you out. And I think there's probably going to be some other podcasters. I know there's a lot of podcasters that are going to Naughty in New Orleans. So definitely shop around and get all the information. Yeah, yeah. This is just two people that have been, and this is our experience and our tips and tricks. I'm sure the next person would have different tips.
So this is what we got. Yeah, and I think definitely us, when we went, we had some misconceptions or we weren't quite sure about a few things. So this will clarify that kind of stuff. I agree. All right, so let's start it out.
out all right i think the first thing that we really need to talk about if we're going to talk about naughty in new orleans is exactly what naughty in new orleans is because i think there's some confusion out there that like i think some people think it's just happens to be a week when a lot of swingers go to new orleans i think it's people you know some people think it thinks an event people don't people don't there's lots of like um rumors out there but if you haven't been you maybe don't necessarily understand what exactly it is so what is naughty in new orleans so it is technically a hotel takeover um this year there was three hotels last year there was three um and basically they sell out like at this point all three hotels are sold out and they are selling day passes.
So you're looking at probably pushing for hotels by the time you count everybody, you probably could have fit everybody else that was saying, you know, not on property at all the other places.
Um, but that's pretty much, I mean, it is a hotel take hotel takeover on steroids yeah and we haven't necessarily ever got like a firm number and maybe we can ask uh bob this year but you know somewhere between like 1500 and 2000 uh swingers or something like that is kind of the what we've heard the number we've heard tossed around yeah uh and that's right so it is a hotel takeover so they have a main hotel um we won't say the hotel name but i think it is publicly um put out there you can find it if you just look up at not look up nanny events um and in the main hotel uh they have a couple ballrooms they set up uh it's a convention style hotel so they have um different booths and vendors and you'll get a lot of uh clubs from across the country a lot of the hotel takeover groups from across the country uh they all come to naughty in new orleans and take part in kind of this large hotel takeover yeah because typically when you do a hotel takeover it's one group pretty much putting it on and they may work you know individually with a couple other groups but primarily it is one at naughty everybody kind of comes together if that makes sense um for example you have splash will be there we just talked about splash you'll have um bliss cruise hedo will be there uh every podcaster you can think of play champagne i mean the list goes on and on and on so everybody kind of contribute like if you are someone in the lifestyle like if you have any kind of lifestyle business lifestyle company you're probably going to be here at this event the industry is what they refer to it yeah they do that's the word they toss around a lot which i think is kind of funny but also kind of catchy yeah yeah so all the lifestyle industry people will be uh at naughty in new orleans and like you said it is nice that they all kind of pitch in so you know different groups are hosting pool parties different groups are hosting day parties and it is ran by naughty events um i think would you say it's naughty-events.com is the website um and they're the ones that are putting on the the overall um event but yes there are several people that contribute to make it make it happen and as far as i know it's one of the larger um it's as far as lifestyle specific events in the country yeah i i mean i'm sure we haven't been to everything so i'm i'm not sure what all's out there but as far as anything we've ever been to it's by far the right i guess all right so a few more things about naughty so okay it's a hotel takeover um but it's a it's kind of a convention style uh they do classes during the day um you know you can there's speed dating there's you can learn about stds from actually dr store who's on our podcast all the time will be there teaching you about that if you want to attend that um they have like tantric uh different tantric massage classes and all these classes and things they have podcaster panels and guest speakers and all that right and that's all going on in or around the main hotel uh okay in addition to that when you um when you show up and you pay for naughty and you check in uh they give you a lanyard, right?
And this is kind of key. So during the day on Bourbon Street, there are day parties hosted at the various bars and clubs and things on Bourbon Street. But nobody off the street can get in. Essentially, Naughty in New Orleans is taking over each bar and you have to have that lanyard to get into any of these events.
and i think that's where people get confused so if we're going to talk about what naughty isn't it's not just a bunch of swimmers showing up to new orleans and partying yeah like i had somebody message me today that was like if we come can we come into the podcaster panel without attending the event and the answer is no so in order to participate in any of the events that we are about to talk about you have to be a registered guest of naughty so you have so once you check in they give you this lanyard and so you have to have it and they have pretty strict security because people are wanting to get into these parties so um they're checking it at every door yeah and i think if i had maybe if even we had a misconception about naughty in new orleans before we went or if there if there is an overall misconception i think that people think there's just a bunch of swingers in new orleans and if you just show up you can kind of party with them at that at least at some of the places and honestly like if it's a bar that is not being taken over and it's just a random bar yeah you probably might run into some swingers but primarily everyone is going to be at the naughty yeah sponsored events yeah yeah and so that's key right so uh they have all these day parties during the day but they take over the events for those day parties and you cannot get in without the lanyard.
And most of the attendees are going to the naughty sanctioned parties. So if you just showed up to New Orleans, sure, will you bump into some swingers? Absolutely. But you can't, you're not going to be able to get into any of the day parties. You're not going to be able to get into the hotel.
You're not going to be able to attend any of the classes seminars you have to be a registered guest and attendee of the event to take to to participate in all of those things yeah and i this don't quote me but i do not think you can just walk up to them and purchase a pass everything has to be pre-done i know we leave for naughty in like 10 days or something like that 11 days and they still have tickets on sale now but it's very close to being sold out like we're getting the emails it says like sellout warning so i think that all has to be pre-purchased yeah i would definitely um if if you have not bought a ticket if you're listening to this and you haven't purchased a ticket yet you're like man i really want to go to this definitely go to naughty-vents.com and make sure you secure yourself.
I think the only option right now is day passes. Make sure you secure yourself a day pass. I'd hate for you to buy plane tickets and show up and not be able to get in. And you can also go to Swingers Society.net, and then we have the Naughty event linked on our website, too. So if you're a Swingers Society member, you can have a direct link over. And we also have, like like the attendees, people are RSVP'd from our group and stuff like that. You can find that on the SwingerStudy.net. Okay. So that's the overall, right? So that's the, that's the basics, right?
So if you're coming to New Orleans for, for not in New Orleans, you got to have at least a day pass. It's a hotel takeover with these, these bar crawls during the day. And then there's classes, seminars, and all this other stuff going on. So that's the gist of it, all right? But now, since we've been there and we've done this and we've learned a few lessons, let's go into a little bit of details. Let's be a tour guide for those attending. Yeah, so I guess I'll just start a little bit more about booking it because I think that's important.
Again, you can go to our website, our website swing or study.net or you can book directly through their website naughty-events.com um basically there they um it's it's pretty pretty simple you sign up typically they have payment plans so i'm assuming that that would be something that they have going forward as well so if you're listening to this in the future you know they may change things but as of 2023 we booked in like October and I think we made like our initial payment which was $700 and then our final payment came out like in May and I think it was like the other half of it don't quote me in the exact numbers because i'm not looking at them but essentially we split it up into two payments and then our uh our hotel uh bill came out about 30 days before the event they just started the card on file right so that was the overall price though right it's around somewhere so for the hotel and for the passes, it was somewhere in the realm of $1,400, $1,500, right?
And it's about half and half the hotel for us. And it depends on which hotel you stay in. So it is going to fluctuate. But it was somewhere around that $700 for four nights, I think? Yeah. For four nights, five days at the hotel. And then for the day passes for the entire thing, that's somewhere for a couple's pass was somewhere in the $700 range, $700 and some change range. Yes. So again, yeah, this is 2023, prices will probably change, but you're looking at, if you go for the full five-day takeover, and I think they do have a couple other three-day options and stuff like that.
Yeah, they have some other options. But for the full five days, it's somewhere in the realm of $1,500, which really honestly isn't that bad. We've paid almost that much for just a weekend event. Correct.
for a full five days.'s somewhere in the realm of 1500 bucks which really honestly isn't that bad we've paid all that almost that much for just a weekend event so for a full five days that's in my you know you're comparing that to other events that are out there um it's really not it's reasonably priced for the amount of stuff you do and you get yeah so about a few weeks before the event you will get you'll start getting emails from well you'll emails all along, kind of updating you. You'll get the themes and everything, but you'll get a schedule about three, four weeks before.
I think this year was a little late and they actually have an app and when you get that email, you'll, you'll see how to download the app and everything.
And that will give you a full rundown of everything that naughty has to offer so that is definitely something i recommend looking at prior to going we'll talk a little bit more about the schedule as we kind of go through but i definitely wanted to point out that before you go definitely spend some time looking at that schedule download the app make sure you have everything added because it is quite extensive and you can actually build your own schedule within their schedule.
So it's easier instead of looking at 50 things for a day, you can look at the five things that you know you want to do and it kind of helps you stay on track. Yeah.
So the app is called Sched and it's like S-C- h e d uh and in the full and i think you might need the invite link to have access to it but then no i think you just search him it's not an invite link yeah either way you'll get the full um once you find naughty in the orleans or get the link to naughty in the orleans it gives you the full day by day of everything that's uh participating and it's nice because the events are like color-coded so if it's a seminar it's one color if it's a day party it's one color if it's um if it's at the tantric center it's another color so they kind of have it broken up and then like lacy said um once you you know once you look at the schedule you can add certain events to your schedule so you have like the full naughty schedule and then you have dan and lacy's schedule and you can kind of pull events over to your individual schedule and kind of plan out your days ahead of time yeah because it i know last year i felt like there was a few things that we missed that i would have liked to have gone so this year when the schedule came out i made sure that i built our own schedule the things that were really important that we go to so i don't miss anything because it's it can get very overwhelming um you if you are the type of person that doesn't like to plan though and you just want to kind of figure it out as you go you can totally do that too it's really whatever your style is right yeah and because they have so much going on um you know having the app downloading it a look at it, I think I think it is pretty important.
It is. It's not like us, like a secrets or a, you know, where it's kind of like, OK, you go to the pool during the day and then you go to the club at night. There's a lot more going on at Naughty, you know, the bars. And the real nice thing about the schedule is that, you know, it has location. It has like the host and it has like And you can even, like, message the host and say, like, if you were interested in a certain seminar, you could message them and be like, hey, you know, I want some more information on this. Or maybe, like, hey, I see this is where it is.
Like, can you, you know, help me find wherever it is? Like, it's pretty interactive. That app's pretty good. It seems like there's a lot of use to that. Yep, I agree. Okay, so let's move on. So let's just talk about getting there. If you're flying, Ubering to your hotel would be the best bet. You don't want to rent a car. There's zero need for it, and then you have to pay to park it, and you're probably not going to need to drive or anything.
So I would recommend just Ubering straight to your hotel hotel if you're driving um valet is is one option the other option is self-parking the main hotel is about fifty dollars a day to valet park if you self-park i think it's maybe twenty to thirty dollars depending on how far you want to walk um but it is the the main hotel is in a very congested area so getting like if you're Thank you.
how far you want to walk um but it is the the main hotel is in a very congested area so getting like if you're parking off site and then trying to get yourself it can be parking is a nightmare like i don't know how else to say it other than part if you're driving please be patient trying to park because it is it's it's awful yeah so it is new orleans and parking is difficult and and like you said you can find cheaper parking i think like you said 20 to 30 dollars um if you park a few blocks away from the hotel um they have uh you can park through them but it's 50 a day for us that was worth it um i will say no matter what you do and how you plan the park it is going to take time because um at that check-in especially on the day of and check-in day there's so many people getting there trying to check in trying to get registered trying to park it's just kind of a cluster yeah it's just and that's not not even new orleans fault it's not anybody's fault it's just you know think about it a couple a thousand people a couple thousand people trying to trying to check into a hotel all in the same you know six hour span um it's just a lot um and but they had i mean as far as naughty goes they have they had it pretty well organized as far as check-in tables and all that stuff um but the hotel and parking it's just time consuming yeah yeah it doesn't matter how many people they have how many valet workers um it's just it's just time consuming and we actually went down a day early and stayed a day late and it was still kind of a cluster the day before and the day after um i thought i could only imagine what it was like at check-in time the day that naughty started so just keep that in mind um if you you know maybe if you want to come there early or stay late or however you want to do it just being mindful of that um once you get there and you get checked you know get parked and everything you'll check in through the hotel again it's gonna it's gonna be a long line but they're friendly and nice and they'll help you through there'll also be a registration table for naughty the event itself so you'll go in you'll get your swag bag you'll get your lanyards and at that point you pretty much have to wear your lanyards the entire weekend which ladies i know doesn't make your outfit super cute but to come and go you gotta have it on yeah don't forget your lanyard don't lose your lanyard either i think it was like last year at least it was like a hundred dollars if you lost your lanyard and had to get a replacement made and somebody actually left their lanyard in our room last year and they left and went to their hotel the next you know that night and then the next morning they wouldn't even let them up to come get it out of our room they had a call, and we had to come down and bring him the lanyard so he could get through the gate.
So they take it very, very serious. Which is good. As they should. Yeah, as they should. Another note, like you were saying, you have to get your lanyard. And it doesn't matter which hotel you're staying in, you have to go to that main hotel. At least that's how it was last year to get your lanyard. So you're going to have to, you know, if you check into whatever hotel you're staying in, you're going to have to find your way to the main hotel to get your naughty New Orleans lanyard. Correct. Okay. So you're there. You're checked in. Now what? So let's start by talking about food.
What the heck to eat. um if you've been to any hotel takeover any like event that's like day in and day out food is really important because you have to eat to drink unless you just you know to survive to survive basically especially you're talking about you know if you're going for the full five days um if you want to survive that full five days, putting calories into your body, yeah, one, to absorb the alcohol and two, to sustain yourself into 2, 3, 4 a.m. every night, you're going to need some calories for that. Correct. And New Orleans has some amazing food.
We found that we went to, I think I went to like a CVSvs or a walgreens there's a lot of them very close to the majority of the hotels so walking is not an issue i was able to get some drinks and some light snacks for our room but our room did not have a refrigerator right so we stayed in the main hotel which is an older you know kind of i don't know what you want call it. But it's an older hotel kind of in classic downtown New Orleans. So not, I guess some of the rooms had fridges. And we even called last time and tried to see if we could get a room with a fridge ahead of time.
We requested one, yeah. And they were like, yeah, we'll totally take care of you. And then we got there and they didn't have it.
So know that there's a pretty decent chance that you won't have a fridge if you're in the main main hotel yeah which i mean it's not the end of the world but if you're like me who needs like a cold drink when i wake up it can be a pain so this year i think we're just going to bring our which i know if you're flying that can be hard so um light drinks cooler in the room as far as lunches we did pizza every day so in new orleans at like pretty much every corner there is like a pizza joint yeah so on bourbon street as you walk down it's like every couple blocks there's a pizza in a alcohol slushy joint on most of the corners and you can go in there and it's like pay by the slice and i mean a slice it's like a quarter of a pizza or something like that yeah so it's pretty nice you know if as you're hopping around from the day parties to day parties it's pretty easy just to kind of grab a slice of pizza in between parties and that's mostly what we did last year there there is a couple uh fast food restaurants i know there's a crystals i mean And there's, there's an i-hop there's plenty of other options if you don't want to sit down or if you do just want to have like a really big lunch and maybe do a light dinner because you know dinner is harder to get in and out of we found that dinner time was damn near impossible to get in without a reservation especially if let's just say you've met two or three couples and you want to all have dinner together.
And it's six of you trying to walk into a restaurant on a Friday night in New Orleans with six people is kind of impossible. Yeah. So definitely a pro tip. So lunch is not as hard. There's a few options. Pizza is always a good option. And then there's a couple other things. Um, and I think even the restaurants, some of the main restaurants on Bourbon street aren't as busy at lunchtime, but dinnertime, um, they're all pretty packed and pretty full.
Um, and having a reservation, especially if you have more than just two people, um, will definitely help get you in and out of those restaurants quicker or, you know, guarantee that you'll have a seat because there were several times where we needed to go eat and we kind of got stuck standing in line for 30, 40 minutes waiting for a table so that we could all sit down and eat. And it kind of just took up time. So definitely if you pre-plan that, call around, make some reservations, kind of plan your schedule out for when you're going to eat, you can do that.
Now there are some other options options. You can always DoorDash. So DoorDash will deliver to your hotel. They can't come up. You're going to have to go down and meet them outside the lobby to get your food. But DoorDash is an option and there's all kinds of food in that area for that. Another option is if you want to get away from Bourbon Street, right?
So if you either Uber or walk a couple blocks and go to some of the restaurants that aren't necessarily right on bourbon street or within a block or so of bourbon street um you might have an easier time getting in and out now i know i remember last year we we tried that we like walked away from bourbon street and we ended up walking around for like an hour and still couldn't find a restaurant to get in and out of we spent a lot of time just walking trying to find food what we eventually did that kind of worked out was Thursday night as we were walking down Bourbon Street we picked out a restaurant we wanted to go and I walked in and said can I make reservations for tomorrow so basically every night we made reservations for the next night and that tend to work for us and we just you know made it for six eight people and that kind of worked so but i'm sure like the open table app which is the reservation app i'm sure you could probably easy just do that online but that kind of worked for us because we were able to like kind of walk by and see what was cool and kind of what the vibe was and if we wanted to go there i was just quickly able to pop in and do that yeah so lacy actually called around to try to get some pre pre uh um reservations this year and they kept referring her to that open table which i had never heard of but yeah apparently open tables like an online reservation oh it is i just used it yesterday for our family vacation that we're going on yeah it's pretty um but you don't know that because i'm always the one that does it that's the one that does it just that's why you don't know yep okay so that's pretty much food that pretty much covers it i do know that naughty has a few um drag brunches or drag dinners that you can purchase i think through the app if you'd prefer to do something like that and honestly that sounds a lot of fun yeah absolutely yeah so maybe we'll do one of those this year we'll see and we'll report back okay so that's food so next is what the heck do you do during the day we kind of touched on this already what is your favorite thing to do dan during the day uh so you know if you're asking dan's honest opinion i think the day parties on bourbon street is where it's at so i agree there's a lot going on during the day they have pool parties they have the day parties on bourbon street and then they have all these the various seminars going on in the different locations i would say the bulk of the group ends up on bourbon street kind of partying and bar hopping the bulk of the group now there are people that do seminars and do all that and definitely if you're interested in those things uh participate in them um we did um there was a few that we went to and it seemed like they had a decent crowd uh there's also a couple we went to and there was like 10 people in there so it's kind of hit or miss on the seminars how much participation there is i think depending on the subject and it really naughty is what you make of it.
It's kind of like a cruise. You can do as little or as much as you want if you want to sleep in and go pretty easy during the day and have amazing nights. You can do that. If you want to go full force all weekend, you can do that, too.
So I think that's the cool thing about the schedule and whatever you're feeling're feeling you just make your own yeah no 100 so definitely i think we hit on this a lot but look at that i you know sit down with your partner prior to going to naughty new orleans look at the schedule go through it together maybe separately and kind of pick out your five six favorite or your favorite thing of each day and then you know sit down with your partner go over that and kind of plan out your schedule so you have an idea of what you want to participate in uh so for us i think there's four or five seminars we're either going to be a part of or uh either people from swinger society or like doctor store has some so you know we're all about supporting our community and the members of our community so we're gonna we're gonna attend some of those but then there's also's also quite a few day parties that we want to we want to make it to that we didn't make it to last year.
But there's some that we definitely want to hit. So we're we're kind of built our schedule around those things. Correct. So let's talk a little bit about seminars. I'm actually looking at this year's schedule just to kind of give you an example. So like let's say you've never been to none. You're like, OK okay well there's seminars like what what are we doing? So first of all there is a Navigating Naughty in New Orleans welcome seminar. So let's say this is your first hotel takeover. You don't know what the heck's going on. You're a little overwhelmed by everything.
They have a class that you can go to the Wednesday before Naughty starts so you can get get there day early and they will just kind of like help you though like kind of like what we're doing i assume but more on an interactive probably better because it's probably probably taught by bob and tess so that's like a good example of a class um we've also got um sibian in sex toys you can go and learn about like say maybe you've looked online but you're like more of a visual person you want to see it and you want to touch it there you go there's a class on that they have comedy shows um tantric center preview so you can go and check out what they're doing at the tantric center you can meet ncsf which if you've been a part of our podcast for any amount of time that is the national coalition for sexual freedom they also do boudoir photo shoots so if you want some naughty pictures of you and your spouse or just maybe of you you can go and pay an additional fee for that most of the stuff is free but on the app you can definitely see um let me see more lifestyle sex how to hook up in large events so i love that so like anything that you can think of naughty has thought of it what is a plus one room and what is it all about let's see come on command six steps for trans transcendent touch-free orgasm nice that's pretty cool um the bi male stigma let's talk about it so see they literally have something in this i think almost still just on thursday like i haven't even i haven't even touched friday and saturday but like we've got rope bondage um explore your erotic power of provocative touch consent to kink so literally they just they they touch on all the topics they got a class for have some speed dating class.

I feel like we need to do one of those just to – because we've never done a speed date. You know, they have speed dating not only at Naughty, but I think they've had it at other events. Yeah, we've never done it. I think Hedo does that sometimes in places like that. But we've never tried it. So I would like to participate. I wouldn't mind going to one of those. Okay, noted. I will add it to our schedule. So we've got flogging. We've got lap dancing.

We don't have favorites, Lacey. We love them all equally, like our children. I do love the Aloe Vera lube, though. If I had to pick one product from Promescent, I wouldn't have a favorite. Well, the funny story, you haven't heard this, but we had a little experience here last weekend. And she was sensitive to a lot of things. But the aloe vera lube from Permescent was perfect for her. Yeah. And I don't think she'd ever used it before. No, she hadn't. And I pulled it out, and we had that conversation about lube. And it was no issues, no problem.
And she's probably going to be a Promescent customer because of it. Yeah, it's really good. Yeah, so go check out Promescent. They're in the show notes. All right, back to Naughty. So when we left you on the front side of the break, we told you that we had tips and tricks for you for day parties. And we do. We didn't lie to you. We have tips and tricks. So the day parties are kind of a big deal. They are.
And there's a few of them with the the beach what do they call it the beach uh foam party uh and some of these um uh the uh miss no swimsuit contest uh these certain parties are kind of like just bigger parties um during the week um and so if you want to go to those here's what i'm going to tell you people start so you have your naughty in new Orleans pass, right? You're on bourbon street. Um, and when the day parties open, they have a little naughty in new Orleans sign that they come and they put in front of the bar. Um, there's a little naughty in new Orleans staff there.
And then the only way to get in is you have to walk up and show them your landlord and then they'll let you in. Okay. Um, so if you're going to, let's say the beach foam party, what you'll notice is before there's a person standing there letting people in, a line will form and people start lining up for these parties, sometimes 20, 30 for that beach party. I think they were lining up almost an hour before the doors opened for that day party. Yeah, that beach party.
We didn't get to go last year because we had to teach a class at the same time and there was major FOMO like all of our friends went and they had so much fun so we are definitely going this year right so for those day parties particularly the bigger day parties people will line up and the reason they're doing that is they want to get like a prime seat right they want to be near the stage or they want to be up front or they want to actually get a table where they can sit down and relax so they'll show up to those parties early to get in line so that they can get in there and get get prime seating right so if there's certain parties that you want to go to especially if there are some of these bigger ones you might want to go out there and line up you might want to show up a little early so that you can guarantee you're going to get in there and get a good spot because there are several we went to some parties and you can get kind of stuffed in the corner like up against the bathroom or something yeah you know like some of those bars are packed for these events yeah so basically the bars are up and down bourbon street and so if you kind of walk it's pretty simple to see them the signs are purple or white they're out front they're holding it up you'll see people congregating around it so it's pretty easy to find them if you don't want to use your app so you can pick one and go and if you like the vibe there you can completely hang out the whole time some people kind of bar hop amongst them depending on what's going on because sometimes you know you may go to one and maybe there's not very many people you go across street and there's a whole bunch of people um the cool thing is that all of these industry leaders sponsor these parties so for example there is pool parties that are sponsored by splash i just looked up temptations and desire is sponsoring one.
Tom's Trips, Play Champagne, The Swing Nation. Hello. Yeah. We were hosting one. So all of these people that are influential in the lifestyle are hosting these parties. And they're usually giving away really cool, really fun prizes.
So I definitely suggest that you go and participate and meet them and sometimes they'll give away swag it's just a lot of fun it's also like going to a swingers bar because everybody in there is swingers and we're all here for the same reasons ish dancing and grinding on each other make it out yeah so it's fun it's a it's a lot of fun to kind of like just bar hop through bourbon street laugh get to know each other it's just fun you can and then also like maybe you go into one of these parties and it's so much fun and you find out who the host is and you're like i need to go to these people's club because they throw an amazing party so it's just kind of like a good way to kind of see what's out there i agree 100 i think the hardest part for me is not over drinking during the day parties because you still have the night portion so if if i could give you any advice is to kind of go slow throughout the day yeah so while we're on that subject i know we talked a lot about food but um what about drinks alcohol um is not a byob event do you have to pay for alcohol how does all this work so it is not a byob event in your room you can have whatever you bring in but outside of that if you need like a refill or anything like that you would need they have bars throughout the hotels okay what about the day parties and bourbon street and all that so it's my understanding that it's an open open container the open container yeah so you can walk down bourbon street with a drink in your hand um but you can't i think i don't think you can walk into a bar with an open drink can you um my understanding is you can yeah so uh you are allowed to take alcohol from one bar to the next at least for most of the parties and i do know that was kind of up in the air there's some questions about that uh but we we went and got the slushy drinks at the pizza places uh and we we walked into several um bars with it it didn't seem to be any problem and so um my understanding of bourbon street and naughty is you can not only is it open container where you can walk around with a drink in your hand down bourbon street but uh you are free to take alcohol from one bar to the next is that's my understanding as of last year yeah yeah that's cool it is cool um and i will say as far as the slushy drink things those seem to be the largest cheapest drinks we could find and that's why we ended up we're cheap dates yeah well we're just not picky on alcohol and you know if i'm going to pay twelve dollars for a six ounce you know jack and coke i just assume pay twelve dollars for a 30 ounce slushy full of tequila or vodka or whatever it's a grown-up alcoholic beverage it's a it's a frozen daiquiri or a frozen it's an adult slushy i'm 90 sure it's an adult slush Okay.
So, that pretty much sums up what you do during the day at Naughty. Now, in between day and night, that's when you eat, that's when you nap, that's when you shower, that's when you do whatever. Yeah, and I don't remember exactly, but those day parties run roughly what, like 11 to 5, 6? Yeah.
I mean, they kind of change times um and even in the evening though if you look at naughty schedule they do have some stuff in the evening for example like we're doing a podcaster's meet and greet and that's like at eight o'clock in the evening so i mean the schedule doesn't stop in between those times but that tends to be kind of the downtime, but definitely check out that schedule. Yeah.
So, but make sure as you're, you know, if you get this scheduled app and you start, um, you know, programming yourself out of schedule, definitely, you know, you want a break between the day stuff and the night stuff. Um, and that break is to go maybe take a nap, um, go get some food, uh, and of shower, reset, and then kind of give yourself some time to get ready and get dressed for the night party. There was a few times last year where we like left a day party and like barely had time to eat and go shower and then straight into a night party.
And when you do that, that tends to be the rougher nights where you wake up the next morning like oh shit but if you give yourself a little break to take a nap kind of reset um it's not as hard on on the body i don't think well and i'm also introverted so like i need like some time without people like i need to just like i just need to lay on the bed and no one talk to me for just a little bit of time even if it's 30 minutes like that in itself will recharge my battery okay so let's talk about night so you heard us talk about day parties they also have night parties the cool thing about naughty is they they have two ballrooms so they have more of like a top 40s room sometimes that is live music sometimes that's a dj and then they also have an edm room or ballroom so if you're into more of that techno dance type music so i really like that because they um kind of cater to all genres all genres all ages all um whatever you're into yeah so they mix up the music in that top 40 room the edm room is mostly edm music but even that i feel like they play kind of a a wide range you know from from house to all kinds of things in that in that edm uh room and so yeah you'll you'll find um all all kinds of different things going on and that's nice and you'll you'll see all the different age groups and stuff and they'll be bouncing around between both parties at the same time.
Yeah. I was about to say, you, we went to both parties, um, pretty much every night we would kind of poke our head in and kind of feel like fill out the vibe and see where we were wanting to go.
Um, and they're really close to each other, just pretty much like across like across the hall um where they are located is on the second floor of the main hotel now we have heard that this year because it is the 25th anniversary that they are going to do some stuff at the other hotels but pretty much the bulk of the main items happen in the main hotel right i did hear that one of the uh overflow hotels is going to have a couple pool parties and uh i think they also has playrooms this year so yeah naughty's growing and expanding and you know i'm sure it'll look different next year and the years ahead but uh as of 2023 um the most most of the stuff is in the main hotel but there is some stuff in one of the secondary hotels yeah so outside of where the main hotel where the parties are that's all going to be on the second floor they also have that's where you're going to find your like convention style items they have a lot of tables set up with different events different podcasters um just anybody that has a business in the lifestyle i guess you could say also some key players like ncsf woodhaw foundation safer sex um open will be there trying to think they had last year they had a corset company a bdsn company who would sell floggers and stuff like that they had a lady that would paint your body trying to think what else they had yeah no there was a lot of booths and stuff like you said kind of convention so you know people that are doing different lifestyle travel things would have a little travel you know little booths with flyers and stuff like that telling you about what they're doing and uh some of the different clubs and takeover groups i think had booths and things like that so yeah on that main second floor kind of in between the two ballrooms um was where all the tables and people were and it seemed like uh you know i think the ballrooms open up around like nine ish eight nine ish and it's like an hour or two before that so like seven eight ish is when people would kind of just walk up there um this is when you wear your themed outfit you know so put that themed outfit on I'll see you next time.
an hour or two before that so like seven eight ish is when people would kind of just walk up there um this is when you wear your themed outfit you know so put that themed outfit on um those aren't for the day parties during the day those are just for those night parties so people would put their themed outfit on they'd come up to the second floor and they just kind of mingle and you know socialize slash check out the booths uh and then they kind of make their way to the parties into the ballrooms once they open yeah because, and there's quite a few bars.
So, like, if you get up there and there's not a lot of people dancing, you can kind of go get a drink, kind of mingle around the tables, get to know people. There's also photo backdrops and stuff like that. So there's just a lot of things that you can do while waiting for the party to get started.
Or you could just go out there and start the party yourself 100 that's usually what we do that is we nine out of ten times we're the first ones on the dance floor yeah okay so that's pretty much the night parties um the last few things that we're going to talk about are kind of like sporadic that i really wanted to kind of line up how your day went.
i think that kind of explained the flow of the day after those night parties you go to bed you wake up and you do it all over again correct okay so let's kind of shift gears we want to talk about the sexual freedom parade which is one of my favorite things that naughty does they lit the police literally closed the street and um the attendees of naughty in new orleans walk the streets this year they opened it up to other people is that correct dan uh yes so if you're not so if you are attending so we got clarification on this because there was some confusing uh if you are attending naughty in new orleans and you have a lanyard um you can march in the sexual freedom parade if you so choose um right so it is a parade and and um the public is on the street um and they will be taking pictures and stuff of the parade um because they might they probably don't even know who you are what you're doing but they're just they're in in New Orleans as tourists and there's these crazy people parading down the street.
And so they're taking pictures of you. Um, there is also the chance of media taking pictures and stuff like that. Um, so if you are a naughty New Orleans participant, you can march in the parade.
Uh, if you're not a naughty New Orleans participant, if you're not partaking in the acts, but you still, um, support sexual freedom, um, and support, you know you know um non-monogamy and stuff like that you can come you can register um for the parade and you can come and you can march with us um and i think i think the links for that you can find on naughty-events.com you can find the links if you are not participating in naughty but you do want to come march with us yep so the theme of the parade is all white with like pride flair so you dress in white you line up in front of the host the main hotel and we literally walk the streets of new orleans as someone who is a proud open swinger it was i don't know kind of healing to walk and like be proud and hold our flags and hold our signs and be like, this is who I am.
Yeah, I wasn't prepared for that. Like, I thought it was going to be fun, you know, like, fun with our friends. But I wasn't prepared for it. It did feel emotional in some way. Yeah, it did. It did. It made me proud. Dan did mention that there's cameras and stuff.
I would say if you are not as open as we are but still want to participate in it you can i just maybe wouldn't walk on the side i would walk more in the middle you can always wear a mask or something if you wanted to yeah yeah there's ways to do it yeah yeah but i i think it's it's worth doing um and then in the odds of somebody posting a picture you know is is yeah no I just want people to be aware of the risk. No, no, 100%. And to be fair, there are people that do not participate in it because of the risk. And that's totally fine. It's unfortunate. Yes, it is.
That's what our community has to deal with. And, hey, that's part of the reason we're marching in it, right? Well, and we're not marching as swingers. We're marching for sexual freedom, right? So that could be anything to you. Right. I think what you're saying is even if you got caught in the picture, you can say, well, I just marched in it because I support people being able to do what they want to do, not because I'm a swimmer, right? Correct. But if you're there, it's amazing.
So you walk from the main hotel to the house of blues and then they have like an off-site party at the house of blues it's a really really fun party um we went to it last year i mean we danced for hours it was so much fun agreed um but ladies do it's a real parade yeah do not wear your stilettos to walk in the sexual freedom parade you'll look hot for about five minutes and then after that you'll want to die so make sure you wear the appropriate shoes yes it is a i don't know how far it is but it's it's a walk and it's hot as hell it's new orleans in the summer it's hot so it's gonna you know,'re gonna sweat okay speaking of clothing let's shift gears what to wear at Naughty in New Orleans I get this question as a female all the time and when we did this chat on discord this was probably the one that people had the most questions with any hotel takeover with any event that you go to you wear what you want to wear that's just what it boils down to you wear what you feel confident in and i would much rather see somebody a little bit more covered up and confident in themselves than try to wear something and then they feel uncomfortable or they're pulling at it So I think that's like really important to stay out the gate yeah so um during the day if you're leaving the hotel and going to the day parties um most people wore normal clothes right um it is new orleans it is hot you probably want to wear shorts you probably want to wear some kind of thin you know shirt guys you know like uh you of those light golf shorts and some polo or something like that.
Or your favorite swinger shirt. Completely appropriate. Yeah. If you want to wear a swinger shirt, if you want to wear a tank top and shorts, like that's nobody, it's whatever you can wear on Bourbon Street, which is pretty much anything as long as you're not, you know, you're covering your bits, right?
So that's completely fine during the day at night uh is if you're in that main hotel uh you can definitely dress in theme and it seems to be most hotel i don't know what the official rule is but it's kind of clothing optional ish yeah i mean it's pretty much anything goes i think in the lobby area and around this you know in the lobby area and around staff that they want you to have clothes on i don't think you're supposed to walk through the lobby naked but not to say that people don't do it um but once you get into the ballrooms and stuff, there was people not wearing much clothes.
Now, are you technically supposed to have your nipples covered? I don't even really know. I know the pool parties are clothing optional, but I don't think the ballrooms were. But you can basically get away with just about anything. Yeah, you'll see everything from women in dresses to women in pasties and panties. Lingerie. Yeah, to lingerie. We found that hotel takeovers where everything is combined into the hotel like this, you can get away with a lot more because you're not walking outside.
But now if you are coming from one of the other hotels, you probably are going to need to want to throw on a big T-shirt over your outfit. Or invest in that silk robe or a light trench coat or something. And so a lot of people would bring like a book bag over and just stuff that in there. Maybe have their condoms, you know.
and there's tables in some of the ballrooms so you can find a table and put your stuff or and no one should mess with it or at least we didn't have any issues with it last time yeah so there's a dance floor in the in both ballrooms and then outside of the dance floor there's a bunch of little tables and stuff where you could put your drinks and kind of set some of your stuff and stuff like that uh and so even we were staying in the main hotel but we still brought a bag with our lube and our condoms maybe a couple sex toys lacy might have had a change of lingerie or something like that some of the gloss and a brush so just something we kept that at the table we had no issues with that yeah so and then one of the questions they asked in discord is some hotel takeovers you wear your dress your your club wear and then at some point the ladies will switch into lingerie and my answer is yes and no um yeah you can totally take your dress off and switch into lingerie if that's what you're comfortable with or hell you can just wear your lingerie to the event like you to the dance or you know the ballroom you really can just wear whatever you feel the most confident and you're going to see all ranges um men do as much as they want to as well so if you are not a guy who likes to get into theme wear some shorts and a white polo or whatever polo matches the theme for that night, or if you want to go all out and wear a G string and a bow tie, you can do that as well.
Yeah. Yeah. A hundred percent. So people are, you know, roughly dressing in theme. You don't have to, um, you know, if I was going to say anything about clothing, yeah.
Wear what you feel most sexy and confident in slash wear something that's breathable and that you're not going to die in because it does get hot in those ballrooms, every lifestyle event, anywhere it gets hot in the ballrooms, definitely because we're in New Orleans and it's like one of the top three most humid places in the world, you're definitely going to be feeling the the heat and humidity um so yeah dress dress with breathable clothing that will uh help you survive this sweat okay so let's talk about the playrooms i actually looked up some stats because you know i'm a professional well lacy you researched.
There is 25,000 square foot of play space at two different hotels. Wow. Mm-hmm. These are safer space where you can explore and practice what you learned in our daily schedules of classes, workshops, and seminars. We have group rooms, private room, a dark room, dungeon, a room for singles, semi-private room, a room for toys with a Sibian, Moto Bunny and a swing, a bisexual room and much more.
Yeah, I will say, hands down, Naughty New Orleans, out of all the lifestyle places that we've attended, they have the most elaborate and one of the largest play spaces i've ever seen and uh if you go to naughty even if you are not the type of person that likes to go to a playroom and play um i would suggest going up to that floor and i remember it's like the fourth floor or something like that um and just walk through that space just to experience and see um what they've put together there because it's it's very impressive and it's fun just to do that Thank you.
just walk through that space just to experience and see um what they've put together there because it's it's very impressive and it's fun just to do that yeah it's kind of like a maze where some hotel takeovers you walk in and it's a big open room or they have some smaller rooms this is kind of like hallways so it's kind of hard to really understand literally taken over like an entire floor of the hotel and converted it into play spaces. Yeah. And like Lacey said, there's doors and then hallways and then more doors. But it's just a labyrinth of play spaces.
And kind of like what you were reading off the website there, they have something for everybody. There's fully public places. There's private places. They got the got, you know, rooms with toys and things. So it's definitely pretty cool, pretty cool place. And I would highly suggest if you go to Nottingham, New Orleans, at least take a walk through the playroom at some point in time. Yeah, I totally agree. So other than that, the last thing that we have on our list is just checking out, which we touched on in the beginning.
Again again everybody is going to be checking out at the same time all the luggage carts are going to be used up getting the car from valet is going to be a nightmare we ended up staying sunday night because we were dead last year and we had been going non-stop for four or five. So we stayed an extra night and literally slept for like 17 hours. But even getting out of the hotel on Monday was a nightmare. I think we waited like something like two hours for our car to come around from valet. It was insane. Yeah. So have have patience. Understand it's not anybody's fault.
It's just there's a couple thousand people trying to check out of the same space at the same time um so you know if you can help it if you can stay late if you can come early if you get up early you know if you kind of if you're trying to check out at 11 o'clock the day of checkout at non-in-orleans it's going to be it's going to be an experience for you um so come with patience and understand that um but definitely if uh if you can avoid um the high traffic times i would suggest doing that yeah and that's pretty much all i have other than consent let's talk about like consent and um if you have any questions on consent or what is acceptable what is not nadia's place to go and learn about that because they're going to teach you everything you need to know also going in with proper expectations or no expectations at that just kind of go in to have fun with your partner and and explore and if you don't sleep with anybody that's okay if you just sleep with each other that's okay too um i just think all of these things all these hard conversations all of that stuff needs to happen prior prior before you get there um and if you need something say something if you see something say something um set for sex will be there to kind of walk the halls of a playroom and kind of be um a neutral party yeah a neutral party so if you um you can ask questions uh then you can get pointed to resources uh i will say you know naughty events you know we're not uh we have an affiliate link through them um but we're not partnered with them in any real official capacity um but but they are good people um in my opinion doing the right thing um and so they've they've invested a lot of time and effort especially this year um to make sure that they have all um you know they're doubling down on the consent stuff and the educational stuff um because they want that event to be a positive experience for everybody that comes.
Um, now, you know, with 2000 people coming, uh, you can't control everybody. Uh, there's going to be some bad apples. I'm sure there's going to be some drunk, drunk people that do stupid things. Right. Um, but they have all the right tools, all the right people, all the right resources. Um, they've done the education.
Um, they have the people there, to those situations as as best they can and um i think that's all we can expect uh from anybody so i'm really really happy to see you know naughty taking those steps and that you know not only them but splash and other organizations are out there doing it um they've definitely motivated us um for our takeovers and our events to kind of follow suit with them since they are kind of the industry leaders and some of that stuff um but you know all this lifestyle stuff it's about going places and being in a safe environment and being able to explore um and so that's you know that's what we want um everybody that comes to our events to have and i know that's what naughty and and some of the other organizations out there want to so So just come with that frame of mind.
Like Lacey said, no expectations. Talk to your partner. The most important thing is that you come there with a happy partner, and you leave there happy and healthy with your partner as well. So anything that happens in between is just a bonus. Yep, I agree. And if you see us, say hello. Yeah, if you see us, we'll be hosting parties. We'll be participating. We'll be doing podcast panels.
