Agree bobdobolina. But it’s our faults not them. We were put in time out for bad mouthing. We also get off this site any chance we can upon finding people who are interested. Chat is a joke. But everything else is as well. But there’s a new gold logo!!!! It’s comical watching the maintainers try to justify the issues. Anywhere else you’d be gone

- TAKE 1 MO. OUR COLLECTIVE MEMBERSHIP MONEY
- GIVE IT TO REAL WEB DESIGNER THAT WAS BORN AFTER 1995 WHO HAS A PROVEN PORTFOLIO OF WEB/APP
- THROW THIS BOOMER DESIGNED SITE IN THE TRASH. SERIOUSLY, THE PEOPLE ARE GREAT, THE WEBSITE IS A DUMPSTER FIRE.
Ex. You have to click “view gallery” like 5x before you get to view a gallery. It’s seriously so bad. My gal and I have a profile, but we immediately exit this site for literally any other communication forum as soon as we find an iota of interest. I also advertise my group events here, but the only way to actually get invited to the event is to join another site that is…. Oh, you know, not made in the Stone Age. This is like a CS 101 web page. Total clown shoes.
Milfwrangler, going app only would be a disaster! The app is a mess and missing so much of what the website has even on its worst days.
Time to scrap this website and start over or abandon it and only support the app. The site is beyond outdated, the app doesn't sync properly with the website and a whole host of other problems drag on and on.
Wayne - the condescending tone is oh so appreciated. It's pointed out that the site looks and works in a very dated manner. But that's dismissed as just an opinion. Should I just find an old version of Netscape to view this page in? Or maybe I'm just missing Flash. And can't forget to blame "user error". I mean it's got to be my fault for thinking that this website would function properly and be able to handle a user clicking "Back" to go back to the main forum page from a topic instead of the 2 clicks and a scroll it takes to get there from the main menu. I guess I missed the SOP manual for navigating SLS.
As I said Wayne. You are a good press secretary. The oath of a good press secretary is this. "I, ___________ , am here to work for _______ and it is my job to explain ______ position—whatever it is—to the best of my ability.”
Thank you. We understand. All is well and wonderful in SLS land. Please stop complaining and deal or move on.
Cheers

<p><span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">There are several reasons for this. We had issues with people turning on notifications and then reporting the emails as spam when they received them. This would cause our site to get blacklisted. Some major providers blacklisted us and that creates even bigger issues. We literally had millions and millions of those notifications bouncing back and not being delivered.</span></p>
<p><span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">Also, the new system is setup more liket text messaging/IMing. When I text or use other IMs, such as on social media, I do not get any email notifications. </span></p>

<p>The above is an opinion. I do not completely agree with it. But what is the problem with that? 90's websites were awesome.</p>
<p>"<span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">Went back to the main forum page (using the back button) then went into another forum and it had already logged us out."</span></p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">It is supposed to log you out after an hour of inactivity. I have seen it not log people out after an hour sometimes, but I have never seen it log people out early. It possibly might be related to you using the back button. On pages that have the left-hand menu listed, I would always use the menu options to navigate the site. </span></p>
Wayne - Auto logoff of the site is inconsistent. Sometimes, it logs us out after an hour or so of inactivity. Just now, I was in this forum reading, maybe for 5-10 minutes. Went back to the main forum page (using the back button) then went into another forum and it had already logged us out. And let's just be honest, SLS looks like it was coded in 1995 and hasn't been updated since. The only thing we like better than other competing sites is the way the forums are arranged and easy to get to. That said, the fact that certain things, like pics or even certain text strings (or websites that aren't even connected to swinging) can't be posted in forums or profiles leaves SLS sitting in the dust in comparison to your competitors. People are leaving. All you have to do is read social media where SLS can't censor them. We have been lifetime members for now 13 years. If we found this site today, you probably couldn't even convince us to sign up for a month.
<p>We are going to update the "Flying Bird" graphic to indicate when you have new messages again (instead of alerts, as it is now). In fact, that update was just assigned to a developer today. </p>
<p>"<span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">it's not a hardship to check for messages during a session, but why not fix it? We also have "hot dates" and while it's not a hardship to scroll through and try to figure out what's within reasonable distance, it's an extra step, so why not fix it too?"</span></p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:tahoma,verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size:14px">I believe I have answered this before. I know I have answered it when people send support tickets. And I just answered it in my post below yours. We know about the issue. We have acknowleged it and we have multiple staff members working toward a fix. Some things take time to fix. </span></p>

<p>The "New Mail" counter is turned off. There is a banner on the homepage letting you know that and letting you know how to check your mail. That is a split second of inconvenience. The company decided that was a better option than the site lagging or going down off and on all day. They might get the mail counter turned back on next week. There were underlying database performance issues that the mail counter and some other features were causing. The developers have been working on all of this on a daily basis.</p>
Wayne. I appreciate you. Truly do. You have a very difficult job of defending the indefensible. You are a good press secretary and hope they pay you well. Deny deny deny. Best strategy out there! All post that precede are simply an imagination of your users. How long has it been since the email counter does not work? Understood!

<p>What issue are you having? We cannot help you if you do not contact us and let us know the issue. The site has been stable for the last week. There is nothing that should be keeping you or anyone else from using the site and meeting others and contacting them.</p>
<p>This site has multiple staff members. If there is a database issue, that is the job of the database administrator to resolve. Everyone else still does their job. So the person that works on banners, ads, graphics still does those things.</p>
@capecpl81. My intention was to be sarcastic and passive aggressive. The fact that they spend resources to "pretty" the site instead of fixing the many well documented issues is beyond me. Been a faithful SLS Member for many years without using other sites. That is no longer the case. And at least for now, the grass is definitely greener on other side...which is a shame since I think SLS could be much more. Ce la vie and lets keep enjoying the "cosmetic" fixes. Cheers
If people continue to pay they have no reason to fix the problems with it.
Want the site to fail? We’ve had a lifetime membership on here for years. I don’t want it to fail. I’d just like for it to work the way most websites work. Is that too much to ask? I browse free website all the time and they work perfectly. I pay for this one and for years, not just recently, years, this one has had problems. Complaints stop when good customer service is rendered. Their competitors don’t seem to have these problems, and whatever you do, don’t mention any outside form of communication. I guess we should just be quiet like good little children and accept it. It doesn’t seem to matter either way. No, we don’t want the site to fail. We just want it fixed and there doesn’t seem to be a fix.
Isn't beautiful? And people complaining about site. Clearly "these" complainers want the site to fail! Who cares if things don't work well or that people are migrating elsewhere, we have new and particularly useful stuff all the time. I have even seem a video on front page marketing some event. I think is so pretty! Great job to SLS!
Got another unexpected upgrade today! Logged on and we have a new gold SLS logo at the top!
I saw this. They added a box to the home page with links to SLS merch as well as some “Official SLS Events”.
I think the rebranding and new name will definitely speed up the site. They've eliminated 9 letters from the name so that will be quicker to load thus improving the user experience.
Kudos to SLS for adding one more window on the home screen to market more aggresively the SLS brand. I read the forum posts that ask where the resources go to improve the many issues affecting the site. Now we know what management has been working on! Thank you. :(
