Why even have free members?

We were free members for well over one year before we paid.

Wayne can fill you in re number of years, but then he may feel we didn't pay as we had membership taken out of our affiliate commissions. We wanted to accrue commissions to pay for Lifetime as SLS said you could do that.
It seems that it is better to collect your commissions and then pay separate for membership.
While we waited, Lifetime increased from $99/year to $150/year. We felt it was worth it to pay $150.

RonKAthy - I agree 2 weeks is more than enough time to decide if you want a paying membership.

Like I said.. give them 2 weeks free access like other sex sites..then shut them down from things PAID members can do like IM, Forums.. some of these new guys bitch and complain about everything.. and ruin the swinging experience

  1. They serve as bait to encourage more people to sign-up and pay. Makes it seem like more fish in the sea.
  2. Gives SLS an opportunity to build their mailing list and continue to try to convince free users to convert to paying users.
  3. More eyeballs on the advertising (cruises and other bullshit).
  4. Drives more people to SLS-sponsored events.
  5. The more members a website has, the more it's presumably worth if ever sold.

Paid memberships have likely fallen off a cliff due to covid. (See: obnoxious new, in-your-face ads). The likelihood of SLS cutting off a potential source of revenue to cater to the ever-declining paid membership is approximately 0.0%.

Wayne.. when is SLS going to shut down the free members.. from all we paid members get to do.. its getting old, they complain , are rude and many just dont get why they are here!

Or give them 2 weeks free usage.. like other web sites do.. after that they have to pay to get what we paid for and if they are that cheap.. to shell out one good night for a lifetime membership.. we dont need them here!

Don't forget the chat rooms!

Free members can access the chat rooms. They communicate with members there. They get to view the masturbation cams.

That is the main benefit

I have run into a few SM's who pay for a short term membership when they are looking for a new long term FWB situation. Once they have that established they let don't renew their membership unless the FWB connection ends.

Others members are only able to play seasonally due to family or work commitments- lots of paid memberships seem to pop up during the summer that are not new members.

exactly what the point I understand trying to get your spouse on bourd if saying it's a cuckold situations

There doesn't appear to be any form of free trial but once a paid membership expires (non-lifetime) it also puts them in the free status to enable them to renew at some point.

People will renew on a whim if they already have a fully developed profile with contacts vs. having to start over. People can go for awhile without interest in renewing. If there weren't free category, it would seem like it also leaves a logic hole.

I don't think hiding them is no different than leaving them. However, it seems msgs are delivered and msg counts ring up but the profile owner can't view them.... emails get sent that they have them... enticing them to rejoin.

It also ups the number of total profiles for marketing purposes.

M & C I agree 100%. Most of the free people are just wasting space on here and probably slowing down the web site. You want to play then you need to pay!

Plus it gives them time to get in an attempt to get their spouse onboard.

It's a good idea for someone to test the site before they commit to money to joint. But there should be a 7 day limit. After 7 days, you either pay, or your profile gets put on hold and is not accessible.

What’s the point, if you can’t communicate with them in any way? Just ridiculous in my opinion!
