[LOCKED]Profile Edit 404

"Please post a link to the page causing the 404 error."

My initial post contained details of the exact page. The submit button on profile edit. Not difficult to find if you're familiar with your own site.

But then I also received a 404 on my initial attempt to reply to this. A refresh fixed it. That would point to a deeper, server config or url parsing related issue. But then you presumably sorta have tech guys, so I won't try to do their job by guessing possible causes.

A slight side note - others are also reporting profile edit issues in other threads, so apparently my problem was not isolated.

"414 Request-URI Too Large error"

That's the same one I get, and all I'm trying to do is change my damn tagline!

@hotluvrs: haha, I agree!
Reminds of the difference between a bug and a feature.
A bug if the user encounters it without knowing, it is a feature if they encounter it but it is documented. So with that, SLS should make it a feature of the site: "Paid members get to NOT being able to edit their profile." It is another improvement to the old birdie, Hotdates and sending out emails when receiving a birdie.

Obviously, y’all need to just stop trying to edit your profiles.

+1 --> same here.

My vote is to have the "crappy" old site back, since the improvements broke more than they fixed.

Just in case those running the site are not aware - hitting submit on profile edits currently produces a 404. It could be it's a known thing and being worked on, but just in case.

I'll just put it down to one of the many issues since "improvements" started.

Maybe one day, if we're lucky, Hot Date will be as good as it used to be. Remembering location/distance search preferences would go a long way to doing so. Also an easy fix programmatically although apparently not for the current developers.
