We signed on 2 weeks ago, thought we would try SLS again and see if is any better than it was a few years back.
SO FAR..... our profile name has been changed twice (that we know of) to other member's profile names in Wisconsin (we live in Arizona) .... and these members have not logged on in months .... making us look like flakes with a dead profile. When this happens all the local member's thumbnails (Arizona) say they are located 1800+ miles away. We have been bumped off again and again when returning to the home page, only to have it keep happening when we try to re-log in. We have had flakes contact us even after we blocked them (and their profile says we had already blocked them when we double checked). Not sure what is going on.... we contacted the SLS staff a few times, but didn't get answers that made us feel like they are going to do much about it. Haven't gotten too pushy with them since we know former paid members who have had their profiles deleted by SLS without a refund when they complained too much.

Looks like SLS is not any different than the other sites these days ...... you never know when parts or all of it is going to function properly, lol

We had someone from out of state thank us for looking at their profile. I know I didn't and I'm pretty sure my husband didn't. And even if we did, our WVM is off so they shouldn't have known if we took a look.

OK, reviewing the WVM hits and I agree, the number of random hits from far away profiles has increased in the last week, we've even received a hit from Canada! Not sure what is going on.

We just had a new profile show up in our Newest Matches, and they're over 2400 miles away from us! WTF?

I'm definitely getting the wrong profile attached to a thumbnail. Sometimes the thumbnail doesn't match the name. I've accidentally contacted some folks from across the country, thinking I was mailing someone local.

I've previously noticed this briefly a couple of times, but a browser refresh would always fix it.

Seeing how this site is a little outdated, technologically speaking, I dont think there is much "Ai" going on trying to steer profiles one way or another to increase viewership and membership, and if they are we are flatterd to be considered a sexy couple worth showing off to others = )

Charles Town, WV, Us

Speaking of other's profiles, I wasn't going to go there, but I have had other people's IMs show when opening, it only happened two times, yet one time is too many due to the privacy and security.

The whole WVM stuff is washy at best and we try to keep positive about it.

Who viewed me feature : This following is a very close approximation, yet very close to actual numbers from locations. About 30 percent of our views are from Fla, Va, Md and Pa (Which we travel most), also NY, NJ, ; another 40 percent are from Mi, Ma, WI, TX, La, Ca, Ct (which we don't travel; another 30 percent make up the local area (up to 70 miles) and of that 30 percent; 60 percent are single males , the other 35 percent of that 30 percent make up couples and 5% of the 30 percent are single females (about 2 percent of the total). The remaining total 10 percent are elsewhere, Hi, Wa, Az, Co, Ky, Tn, Nc, Sc.

NOTE

70 percent of the 60 percent of the total of local views are blue single male gumbies and this does not depict the whole "picture" of gumby from other areas, which brings the numbers closer to 30-35 percent total of the WVM. *** In the time it took to copy and post this, 1 blue gumby 141 miles away in Pa, 1 gumby couple 372 miles away in Michigan with 40 pictures locked, 1 picture profile couple from 129 miles away from Pa, 1 single male with picture from 151 miles away in Md viewed. (50% are gumby on the WVM reset), not one is local.

So basically, we are infested with views from places we don't travel and gumbies, mainly blue. FWIW, it's just another reason we also use another site that allows us to block those not in our search range, non-paying and default profile pictures, ie gumby. We clear our WVM here almost daily and no way is the forum going to bring that much profile traffic. Imagine the gumby count on profile thumbnails with this new app; btw, we changed our default about 10 days ago and it still hasn't changed...…..lol

PHEW!! It seems fixed. I thought I was gonna have to hit the gym harder to match the other couple's pics.

Litchfield, CT, Us

Yes, we've seen that happen on and off but it clears up soon enough. You may need to contact Waine in tech support though. Don't mention the tin foil though.

Seriously... do you guys see our profile name as Get_Irie but see tandee2011 also there??! We're not tandee2011.

@hotluvrs, seriously, you can't believe everything you find on the net these day. Just a lof of snake oil. Plain old tin foil (you can substitute with aluminum foil since genuine tin foil can be hard to find in some parts) It's proven techmology, which interstingly work both as a wave repellant when formed into a hat, or wave "getter" when shaped into balls and put on the end of rabit ears. Good luck.

Pretty sure no one uses tin foil hats anymore. That’s so nineties. Get with the 2019 program. Here, I’ll help.
My buddy Rene is an awesome inventor he came up with “Quantum Vortex Field Effect Technology,” which he has applied to create many ground breaking quantum nano vortex energy based inventions”

innersoultechdotcom/product/brain-wave-protector (SLS will not allow a real URL in the forums; correct the dotcom part of the address before putting in your browser)

Get one of these things. All the cool kids are doing it (doesn’t work for puppets).

Some of us also have extensive tin foil hat collections, with different shapes, thicknesses and coverage areas. It's good to stay ready for any mind-control ray scenario.

Not that I would do something that obviously paranoid and delusional. Dat's just crazy talk.

Maximillian,
What is curious is not the fact that there is sudden interest from many miles away. What is do is, as Rustic mentioned, “It is just hard to understand why several people all from the same small geographic area suddenly view our profile one right after the other“

Some of us have conspiracy theory tendencies. I can’t help wondered if the data is being manipulated.

Litchfield, CT, Us

Could be something as simple as people reading posts and seeing intersting profiles, and clicking on them. We've noticed the same thing starting as soon as we opened some threads regarding some technical issues with the site, more so when replying to some lifestyle forums. I don't think it's a big deal unless they start to hassle you, then block them, idk?

Goodlettsville, TN, Us

Same thing happens to me from time to time without any apparent correlation to my activity on sls.

Fresno, CA, Us

The one I find interesting is the single guy from 900 miles away that looks at my profile every day for the last week. Gobbleygook text, two of three photos appear to have been lifted from various SLS stock photos (like the login screen), and the last photo is a selfie of some seriously creepy, scowling dood that no one in their right mind would walk next to on a dark street.

Hollidaysburg, PA, Us

Its all good and we also look at profiles that spark our interest from other areas but this is in reference to multiple views from the same area all in the same day and we were not on the home page , on a cruise , didn't post on the forum or signed up for an event in that area …… its not a big deal but somehow we feel its a glitch in the system listing us possibly in an area we aren't from …… last week we had 6 to 8 profiles all from the state of Michigan that looked at our profile and we are from PA …. like I said we were not signed up for any events that would have caused them to look at our profile …... that is all ….. carry on :)

Hendersonville, TN, Us

We've never been able to figure out the algorithm that gets you extra attention. We don't post, hell don't even log on and we still have a ton of views. Post a Hot Date and <crickets>.

Maybe we need an SLS version of the Bat Signal. A pair of panties over a bedroom lamp maybe?

Phoenix, AZ, Us

The most recent event I went to - last week - had several people signed up that were thousands of miles away. It was a small group and I would have noticed strangers. In the past few days, I've also noticed a weird glitch where looking at someone's photos for Better Profiles gets me a different account entirely and keeps it that way unless I back out to the original profile.

My guess is that someone dotted their Ts and crossed their Is.

Ridgeville, SC, Us

Sorillo we even checked out your profile due to how you reply on the forums. We enjoyed reading it. We get folks doing the same (including you back BTW). It is just hard to understand why several people all from the same small geographic area suddenly view our profile one right after the other. I guess it is a glitch in the Matrix or something. Or maybe....

It is all as foretold in the prophecy.

Fresno, CA, Us

I've always thought it odd when I get views from couples 1000+ miles away. I've talked to a few of them and it's almost always because they look at the folks who post on the fora. A couple might be from travelers who are scouting their next visit to the DFW area.

As for the rest, I've kind of suspected that my profile pops up someplace on the site where it shouldn't, like the list of cruise attendees. No evidence for it, just a speculation.
