Friends feature

Some people think this is Facebook and can't stop collecting friends they don't even know. That's my guess, I never accept a friend request if we've never met. I think it's dumb.

That’s a plus Wayne! We were getting random requests from people we never even talked to or met. It’s a nice feature to keep tabs on profiles of people we’ve befriended.

<p>We removed the white "Friend Request" icon from the profile thumbnails. This was due to feedback that it was too easy to accidentally press it and that some people were usng it to spam friend requests without reading profiles. Now you have to view the profile to see the option to send a Friend request.</p>

Plus Wayne said it was for Friends to communicate and post, but we’ve had all kinds of random people leave stuff on ours. I agree it’s a complete waste of resources when so much else needs to be fixed.

I figure people I never met who want to be my friend either want to borrow money or want to sell me a warranty on a vehicle.

IMO the wall is best used for banging your head against after reading some posts in the Forum. I use it a lot for that purpose.

LMK ... go to the menu on the left and select "My Wall" ... it doesnt really do anything useful

<p>The Friends feature was part of the wall feature. The only thing that friending someone does is allow you to see each other's wall posts. People use it, but it was never all that popular, so we are not currently doing any more work on it. </p>

<p>Free members can post on the wall. It is the only place where free members can communicate, so they do tend to use it and send friend requests to others so they can try to communicate with them.</p>

sort of like the "wall" that fizzled out!

But we do get they try different things..

They try and do a thing like FB now on SLS.. for 'Us'.. if we dont know you, talked with you.. something in common we are NOT placing you on a friends list.. and give access to photos!

Simple for us..

Can someone please explain what is the purpose of the Friends feature on the site? People ask to “friend” me but I can’t figure out what happens if I say yes. (I generally don’t)
Now, Favorites, I get. Use that all the time. Like a bookmark.
But “Friends“ has me bewildered. Flummoxed, even.
