I think the U S Supreme Court is waiting for after the Holidays. It will make its election fraud decisions January 5th late in the day. Then Congress on January 6th can make its votes basted on knowing the truth from the Supreme Court decision. What State Electoral votes are legal or not.
Election Temperature
<-- big fan of lyle alzado. He worked out in the gym I went to back in another lifetime. He was a scary dude in the gym, still don't know if I ever saw anyone that strong in person. A bunch of nfl guys lifted there too. He was a super nice guy outside of anything competitive. Definitely a good dude. I just looked up his stats and can't believe he was 6-3". In my memory he was much taller. Weird.
"What mistake from the past have I repeated?"
Posting to HFT as if he is a rational human being...
Interesting article published in The Hill yesterday. There is a little known (at least to me) race in Iowa 2nd Congressional District. The Republican won the contest by six votes. The election has been certified by the state after two recounts.
The Democrat, has not challenged the results in court. She feels her best chance of having the election overturned is by going to Congress and having the Speaker of the House overturn it. Which is perfectly legal.
Big question? Isn’t this the same thing Trump is attempting? How can she go along with this? Before all you GOP’ers hop on the anti-Nancy bandwagon. If you’re going to argue that this is wrong. You have to argue the same about what Trump is doing.
This really should be getting national attention. I’m very interested as to how this plays out. I think it’s absolutely cray the speaker would even entertain this thought of doing this.
The 'Mad Stork" was quite a character. In those days, most of the Silver and Black fit that description.
@2
This is useless trivia for you . . .
I assume you know about the Raiders, that's why you made the Lyle Alzado comment.
My mother used to date Ted Hendricks in high school. She said they dated for about 6 months. She left him and wound up with my dad. My mother, at 5'4" had a thing for tall guys I guess. Hendricks was 6'5ish in high school when they dated and my father was 6'4". Useless, but interesting how small Miami was then.
@Rio
"erotic, 75 million of your 140 million are under 18 years old"
Correct. I was well aware of that.
But they are still people and to assume that they are trump supporters or not is a fallacy.
The US population is somewhere in the 330 to 350mm range. It depends upon how you classify illegals here and how many there are.
What we know is about 160mm people voted. So that puts less than 50% of the population voting. Now, if you want to get into what is called VEP (voting-eligible population) we had about 65% of that vote. So basically 2/3rd. While this VEP is high, it is nowhere near the highest. Fortunately, I live VERY close to a school that is known for these studies. I have gone there just to hang out in their library and read this information. The last time we had a number this high was back at the beginning of the 1900s. This is why I say that Trump has accomplished something. He has gotten people off the couch and into the voting booth. That is awesome for our country.
Personally, I find the study of the demographics and the psychographics of the voters fascinating.
History has proven.
There will never be another Lyle Alzado.
Sorry. It just popped up in my head. Lol
HFT,
What mistake from the past have I repeated?
What is the most valuable thing you have learned from studying the mistakes made in the past of American history?
Here’s a few things I have learned:
—Question authority
—Injustice angers
—-What we learn from history is that we don’t learn enough from history.
—Power corrupts
—The Achilles’ heel of democracy is demagoguery
—Follow the money to help understand crime and injustice
—Empathy is beautiful.
—Try to see the brother in the other.
—Care for the poor and the sick
—To be happy, express gratitude and serve others.
—Distrust name callers and those who demonize and dehumanize others.
—Many prefer to feel superior to others rather than equal
—Study and learn from Frederick Diuglsss and MLK Jr and Thomas Paine and Abraham Lincoln and FDR
I think we all know Your was referring to voters and not actual population.
SAP, "I also love studying history." You better stop studying the cave men. History has move far beyond them. If you study history why do you want to make the same mistakes of the past?
erotic, 75 million of your 140 million are under 18 years old
There are more than 300 million people in the US. About 160mm voted.
So to think that the 140mm are identical to the 160mm is foolish.
“ You sure about that? Half the population does.”
I am sure about that. Half the population says it’s great because it’s Trump.
HFT,
You actually have me curious and amused.
I wonder: What will happen or what you will say when all your delusions are revealed as delusions?
In the Wizard of Oz, once the Wizard is revealed as a fake, Dorothy goes back to Kansas and each of the characters who accompany her on her trip learns a lesson about themselves that helps them in sone way.
Will that happen to you? (Probably not.)
You provide us with a biopsy of a crazy-foolish side of the USA: The side that is not grounded in reality—the realities of science, the realities of history, the realities of politics, the realities of evidence. Thanks
Ok. Some people are more governed by fantasy and emotion than reality and reading. I feel it is important to understand the place of emotion and fantasy in our lives. I dream. I fantasize. I make some decisions listening to my heart and emotions. I’m guided by hopes and dreams and emotion in many ways.
I also love studying history.
History and fact and emotion all convince me that you are deluded.
I’m sure you take some comfort in your delusions.
Let’s see what happens when this one about what will happen on January 6th crashes.
Will you fault Pence? Will you carry on that Trump won the election but lost only because of voter fraud?
Will you be disappointed when the republic carries on even after Trump loses because it will belie a fear you trumpet?
Will you dig a fallout shelter in your backyard protecting you from the Bolshevik takeover?
Will you eventually post something that shows you have some grasp on reality.
or that you have begun counseling?
I’m glad you get some attention for your posts. It gives you a way to stay engaged in debates in the larger circles of life.
The SLS Forum gives me a way to try to figure out more up close and personal how some Trump supporters think and feel.
Let’s see how much you admit about being deluded or shaped by misguided hopes after January 6th and January 20th
"No one could be able to talk a good spin his decisions."
You sure about that? Half the population does.
THE SNIFFER and THE COMMANDO HO better not quit their day jobs. V P Pence picks the Electors, Republicans pick the winner.
“ His loss had nothing to do with his decisions as President. His loss was due to his stubborn inability to learn how to appeal to the public as a whole.”
His decisions is why the masses don’t like him.
The forward thinkers still want a progressive agenda. But they’re going to have to wait a bit longer. The first priority as the way they saw it was to get Trump out of office.
No one could be able to talk a good spin his decisions.
I think Trump’s terrible handling of the Covid-19 crisis lost him the election.
He knew Covid would hurt the economy, and he knew people vote so much in terms of how the economy is doing.
He should have lost the election because of his racism, his xenophobia, his lying, his greed, his toxic narcissism, his obstructions of justice, and for doing what led to his impeachment. He will go down in history as one of the worst and most mendacious presidents. People who worked with him that he chose for leadership positions called him unfit for office.
Trump is part of who America is and has been: not America the beautiful, but American the ugly.
America has beautiful sides to it too. I hope Biden gives us a chance to recover and act on that side.
But right now the GOP is in control of the Senate and Conservative ideology is dominant on the Supreme Court, and the Democrats in 2022 could lose their majority in the House.
My hope is four years of a competent rather than corrupt White House and executive branch.
Crazier than Trump?
Alex Jones?
It has been said before, but Trump is just the latest symptom of the demise of the Republican party.
Trump will be in charge until someone crazier comes along. Someone who will try to take us further down the authoritarian road.
I find it funny that a Trump supporter thinks that everyone has to love Trump the way they do. They can not believe that people don’t love him as much as they do. And they have a problem with it.
Once again an incorrect assumption is made. First off and mainly. I don't love Trump. I've said numerous times that he's an asshole. I totally understand why people don't like him. What I don't understand is why the self proclaimed forward thinkers allowed themselves to be led around by the nose enough to vote in exactly what they have railed against for years. (An old white career politician)
Trump himself lost this election. By that i mean. He and he alone fucked it up. He could have made this a landslide if he would have just played the game better and learned how to appeal to the masses. His loss had nothing to do with his decisions as President. His loss was due to his stubborn inability to learn how to appeal to the public as a whole.
As i said previously. If any good public speaker such as Reagan, Clinton, or Obama had made "EVERY SINGLE DECISION" exactly like Trump did but knew how to shovel the shit. It would have been a landslide.
“ Out of 100% of Bidens votes. I'll bet only about 10 % actually went for Biden. The remaining 90% were simply against Trump.”
I find it funny that a Trump supporter thinks that everyone has to love Trump the way they do. They can not believe that people don’t love him as much as they do. And they have a problem with it.
It’s a great part of a Democratic society that people can vote for many different reasons. One of them may be their displeasure for a candidate. And people do not have to reveal the reason they vote.
I agree with Your.
Trump is now the Republican Party and the party is now Trump. Funny thing about politics. Once the genie is out of the bottle. You can’t put it back in.
I don’t think EA could be any more incorrect on this one. I know the cute saying. And it’s been around a hundred years. And in the time it was written it was accurate. But times change. So do parties. And it’s is completely opposite this election cycle. The Democrats fell in line and got behind the old rich white guy.
Dumbest thing I’ve ever seen on here, congrats!
