More evidence of the 'Jedi mind tricks' still evident in this thread. It's comical.
Election Temperature
“ V P Pence will choose the legal ones and Trump and himself will have FOUR MORE YEARS.”
WTF? That is not even an option. More repeating of possible theatrics that the blind faithful will think is possible.
“ No one has ever got away with saying and doing what he does. ”
The Clintons have literally had people murdered. Bill was on pedophile island with Epstein numerous times. Obama did and said whatever he wanted to because if anybody disagreed, they’re a racist. Trump and Obama I’ll put in the same league, however, no one has ever gotten away with saying and doing? That may be most stupid thing I’ve seen somebody say on here. Murder & rape, still not as bad as trump though. Ugh!
Who might run for the GOP nomination in 2024?
Trump, Pence, Ted Cruz, Haley, Rubio.
I don’t see anyone evoking the passion among the faithful in the GOP that Trump did.
So many vote for change, and Trump was the change candidate in 2016.
Trump probably would have defeated any Democrat in 2024 if it hadn’t been for Covid crisis
The best news for Democrats: Trump lost significantly among younger voters. Biden received 59% of the vote of younger generation.
My feeling for Biden presidency: he will be competent, ok.
The GOP faithful can be won over by a Sarah Palin and a Donald Trump.
That side of the country is not disappearing.
I feel 15-20% of the country might vote for David Duke.
Then I'd argue
Of course you would.
@EA,
I think I understand what you're saying, however, I don't think you can compare anyone to Trump. His 'Jedi mind tricks' has enabled him to create a cult to unprecedented proportions. No one has ever got away with saying and doing what he does. His followers will not waiver. Note the 'shoot people and get away with it scenario'. He had a point. Since 2016, he's continually made those that underestimate him look silly.
"There's a reason six Republican state legislators submitted an alternate set of Electors......they must know something we don't". YES,,,,V P Pence will choose the legal ones and Trump and himself will have FOUR MORE YEARS.
To all you Georgia voters remember to VOTE REPUBLICAN or we will have a communist-socialist administration.
@ea, yeah I would agree with that. The hate for Hillary was deep. She had no chance, same as trump this time. Sorry if I misunderstood your other post.
Then I'd argue that 90% of the votes for Trump in 2016 were votes that were against Hillary.
Go back to 1980.
How many D's who ran have been tossed into the heap as not true d's or whatever the equiv of a RINO is? The answer is zero.
How many R's who ran have been tossed into the heap as RINOs? Bush, Sr. Bob Dole, Mitt Romney, John McCain.
Trump is just next in the long list of discarded former R heros.
Democrats fall in love with the candidate more than the party.
I'd wager that wasn't the case this time around.
Out of 100% of Bidens votes. I'll bet only about 10 % actually went for Biden. The remaining 90% were simply against Trump.
@Your
I disagree with you. Trump is gone. You state he has 70mm followers. That is a false equivalency. He had 70mm vote for him, they are not all followers. Mitt Romney had how many vote for him? How relevant is he? John McCain had how many vote for him? How relevant is he? Hell, Obama had how many vote for him? How relevant is he?
I think you are missing the concept of the new and shiny object. That is a trait we all humans have. We are infatuated with new and shiny. Especially when you are dealing with something that is based on hope. People are willing to vote for the unknown over the known a lot.
The other point that I think you are missing is that for the last 40+ years, Republicans have shown that they are for the party, not the person. Republicans get in line and vote party. Democrats fall in love with the candidate more than the party. Sure, this is not absolute. If you look at registered Rs vs. Ds, I'd guess that 90% of the R's will vote R no matter if the candidate is Donald Trump or Donald Duck. If you look at the D's, I'd guess that 50% would vote for the candidate just because they are a D. You saw this in 2016. Sanders split the D's. There were people who did not vote in that election because Sanders was not on the ticket and thus we got . . . Trump.
While the movie is a comedy, there is a lot of truth in the movie, the campaign. Just talk about Gods and Guns and you get votes. The Republicans have backed themselves into that corner to guarantee that voting block. The irony is that they say that the D's pander to blacks to get votes, but . . . :)
@yourlur, completely agree. He's gonna be around and he will muddy the damn waters all over the place is my guess. I don't think I'm voting ever again unless someone really comes out of nowhere and makes me wanna vote. Nikki haley could get me to vote.
“ There's a reason six Republican state legislators submitted an alternate set of Electors......they must know something we don't”
Yeah they know the blind fistful love the theatrics of what they did. They also know blind faithful actually believe it makes a difference if they voted for an alternate set of Electors.
What the blind faithful don’t know is that even if Congress were to not certify a particular states Electoral College vote (which will not happen). New electors do not replace them.
It’s all theatrics for the gullible.
There's a reason six Republican state legislators submitted an alternate set of Electors......they must know something we don't
If contesting the Electoral College was really an option we could have had Hillary instead of Trump and Gore instead of Bush.
What had he accomplished with this move?
He has establish that the inevitable is just going to take a couple hours longer. The outcome won’t change.
And he has won Trump support.
“ Are there any current Repubs that are in the forefront to run in 2024?”
Just as you’re posting this. Low and behold a Republican Senator with aspersions of 2024 has declared he will contest the Electoral College vote on January 6th.
Josh Hawley of MO has decided he will be the first boot licker to step foreword.
Let's further define 'Around'.
He'll still be relevant. With over 70 million followers, he's more than capable and likely to run a 'shadow' government. His influence won't change, and he'll be a 'king maker' of sorts. He's far from done.
Those without blinders and use common sense know Trump won't be around in 2024.
Are there any current Repubs that are in the forefront to run in 2024?
Or do you guys feel we'll see a newbie come forward in a yr or two?
As is, which current Repub could take the baton and make a run?
Paul Ryan perhaps? De Santis?
SAP, I think you should have your ass hole inspected because you are FULL OF SHIT.
It looks like God told Pence not to go along with Louis Gohmert’s plan to get Pence on some cracked-out scheme to rule out electoral college votes from Pennsylvania and other a few other states so Trump can win.
Gohmert says that if Pence does not do it and If Trump is not president, it will be “the end of the republic.”
This is such crazy stuff.
I hope someone buys Gohmert a 24 month supply of “Depends.”
HTF: Don’t you think Gohmert should get the Chicken Little award for his sky is falling rhetoric.
THIS IS SUCH A DISGRACE TO GIVE OUR COUNTRY AWAY TO, "THE RADICALS".
If I were in a Republican led State Legislature, I would have already wanted to vote on the Electoral College members. The fact that they haven't voted tells me they are not going to vote on their State Constitution violations. These Republicans are another bunch of R I N O's. If they were Democrats they would have already voted to give their candidate the Presidency.
As a Republican for 60 years I can't figure out how they think. All I hear from them, "beating around the bush" on this issue.
Forget 2022 and 2024, our Country will be finished in two and four years. Our only hope is the Supreme Court ruling State Constitutions were violated in the vote counting and Trump won those States.
Can we start with the Blackwater mass murderer that Trump just pardoned?
Lol@ea.
