Yes they are differrent, but not that far off.

Jr had the meltdown in housing with people being foreclosed.

Jr had the stock market crash tremendously.

Jr had rising unemployment.

Jr had people dumping SUVs to get Prius's because gas was approaching $5 a gallon (in CA)

Trump has rising unemployment. Prior to Trump there was NEVER a week where new claims were over 250k for UI. Since we broke that record, we have not been under.

Trump has had the market crash and come back.

Trump has decided to go against funding the unemployed to force them to choose work or safety.

Trump has decided that schools need to be open. Honestly, if you believe that the economy is the only thing that matters, he is correct. Without schools being open, the economy can't function. People now understand that schools really are babysitters that happen to teach.

Now without funding the unemployed, what happens? Consumer confidence goes DOWN. The moratorium lift will mean people on the street. Then comes foreclosures out the wazoo. It took 12 years for my house to get back to it's value then due to 2008 crisis. It also took interest rates dropping from 4 to 2% to prop that value up.

So Trump's actions in not doing things means that within the next 90 days you will see people hurting big time. They will be foreclosed, evicted, etc.

So they are not that far off now :)

I think 2008 and 2020 are night and day in differences.

Schools are universities are closed. Spectator sporting events and concerts don't exist.

Summer festivals and state fairs didn't happen this year.

Most clubs, bars, movies and restaurants are closed. Very few people are traveling.

Big business, local businesses and small businesses are closing left and right.

Flyover country may be huge geographically, it is NOT huge population wise. IIRC more than 2/3 of the US population lives within 60 or 100 miles (can't remember) of a border/ocean.

So yes, it is for the undecided and to snipe some from the other side. Remember, Trump won by about 80,000 votes across 4 states. If he lost one of those states, he may not have been elected. HRC won the popular. The polls have not shown ANY bump for Trump. The betting sites show him as an underdog.
