What got Reagan's economy going? HINT: It was not Reagan. You can blame it on two people: Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs. Their creation of the PC industry fired off IBM to do the same and thus . . . you had a massive expansion of the economy.

How did Sr do with that economy? According to that VERY conservative think tank Hudson Institute, here was the average annual GDP growth for the Presidents:

Carter 3.3%, Reagan 3.5%, Sr 2.2%, Clinton 3.9%, Jr. 2.1%, Obama 1.45%

That is 3 Dems and 3 Repubs. You had two two terms and one one term per side, so it' equal. The average? Dems 2.88, Repubs 2.6

So who is better?

You really don't want to go further back. The math will make the repubs look worse.

Let's see . . . if I use Tallmark's metric and guidance, the issue lied with YOU. YOU did not get up and do anything. YOU failed.

However, the US has other metrics that are used. Unemployment - down to record levels. Wage growth. Job growth. Dow, when he started, was at 7949.09. The Dow when he left office 19,804.72. From a percentage standpoint, that is a 249.14% increase.

So how did you not take advantage of that? Oh, according to Tallmark's view, you were lazy and didn't put forth effort.

I will say this again. Trump has done a decent job of not fucking the economy up. He inherited a hot economy that Obama had some impact on, but it was not all him. Trump has pushed the Fed to do things though that is debatable if they are in the best interest of the country. This is a tomato, tomatoo situiation. He pressured the Fed to lower rates. He threw gasoline on a 5 alarm fire to fuel it some more. The problem is that what do you do when you need that ace up your sleeve because the economy went to shit? I sincerely doubt we will have negative rates.

If the election were today, I'd see it 398 Biden, 135 Trump.

I don't think there will be a September or October surprise. He would need an approved vaccine this month, production and distribution in September and then October for it be in the hands of citizens with no issues. Logistically I don't see that happening.

If he has kids in school get CV19 and die, well, that maybe the October surprise that he didn't want. People will put their kids before Trump every day of the week.

I listened to a very good interview of Frank Luntz today.

It was recorded on the 8th. In the interview, he said that Trump is losing by 10 to 12 points. He stated that trump is losing 1/2% of his base each week when Trump talks. He said that Biden is gaining that 1/2% each week by not saying anything.

For those that do not know who Frank Luntz is . . . spend your time and learn who he is. He is very good at what he does.
