You missed Trump's most damning quotes from his speech before the mob riot/insurrection:

'If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore" and

“When you catch somebody in a fraud, you’re allowed to go by very different rules.”

That's a direct quote, recorded on camera, that he gave to the crowd. Even given that, it's a coin flip whether he would be convicted in a court of law for incitement, since that's just the way our laws are structured, with a greater deference for freedom of speech. You can definitely indict for sure, and bring this to trial, but in the trial it might be difficult to prove that what he said is above the legal threshold for incitement. For the Senate, we all know it's very political and people just vote along party lines, which is kind of sad. Having said that, what Trump did is so egregious that he may very well be the first and only president to be impeached AND convicted. We'll have to see whether those R senators vote their conscience for the good of the country, or for their party.

Of course the misinformation machine is high in the alt-right "news", but we all know the mob riot/insurrection was caused by Trump. The best proof is the statements from the people who were arrested, who said things like

“Our president wants us here,”

“answering the call of our president” - the QAnon Shaman (aka guy with the fur and horns)

Many are considering the "public authority defense" which means they will say they were told by Trump to storm the Capitol, so they were just following orders. Most are just hoping Trump pardons them all, because you know, they know Trump has been pardoning all the criminals that he is associated with.
