Yum! We do the same with leftover turkey and gravy. There are times during the year other than the holidays we just have a hankering and it's so awesome to pull it out of the freezer and enjoy it again!

Last Tuesday, I received an early birthday present, but did not build it until yesterday. I received via FedEx a small, two burner propane grill. I grilled at home for the first time yesterday, since my most previous grill caught fire in December 2024. I cooked a simple burger last night.

Tonight, I went all out. Tonight I made my usual four seasoning and one herb chicken, but grilled it instead of baking it. You wanna talk about something that has been 'longed for?!?!?!?!?!' It was completely unintentional of how things turned out. The best way to describe it is, the type of chicken you crave and salivate over that has been slow cooked on a low temperature commercial grill, with the perfect amount of char and is still juicy & moist... My god that was good!

It was a modified version of an online recipe. I replaced half the onion it calls for with roughly the same volume of super thinly sliced red and yellow bell peppers. Also modified the dressing to be a little more tangy with more vinegar and some fresh lemon juice. Fresh dill is also the key to this recipe. Here's the link. Be sure to check out her other recipes. It's a great site.

It sucked but in the first few minutes I discovered that I was over cooking shrimp, so there’s that. : )

That does sound good. They have something called spicy cucumber salad at a place called Bar Taco.

I went there on a first date. Dry lunch. I’m going on about how good it is and the guy reaches across the table for the salad.

Initially that was my thought, until his hand bypassed the salad and grabbed my breast! 15 min into a dry lunch.

The salad was really tasty though.

Smoked ribs at my brother's place later today. He usually does two different rubs, mild and spicy. He knows I generally go for the mild (you can always add heat to anything for individual tastes, but once added it's there for good). Not sure what else is on the menu, but it's usually tasty.

Sure, I'm willing. I won't know everything, but I'll probably be able to put you on the right path / help you troubleshoot.

Mother's Day dinner/liner today is smoked ribs, Southern-style cast iron skillet baked mac-n-cheese, BBQ cornbread, garlic roasted Brussels sprouts, tangy cucumber salad and for desert an apricot cobbler my daughter made with apricots from our neighbor's tree.

Maybe it’s a curse but Flip is growing things successfully with some help and through pure tenacity.

You can do it. Ask CalCan.

You’re from Jersey. Just because it’s the “Garden State” it doesn’t naturally imbue those talents to an urban population. With all the things you’ve learned to do you should have been born in the 1900’s.

I’m always marveling at all the changes that generation adjusted to while retaining the ability to grow, mend, repair and even wgat they did for health.

My grandparents ate dandelion salad a few times a week. I didn’t partake.
