Simple Pleasures

New Orleans, LA, Us

@Hotluvrs- I’m able to keep mine off of my bed, whether the door’s open or closed and keep them out at night without any crying at the bedroom door (knock on wood), but jump on a msft teams call and I have one lap cat and another puffball walking between my feet, licking away with that sandpaper tongue. When I had the dogs, they wanted to be in the bedroom, but slept on the floor, mostly.

It’s 5am and I’m sitting here with our cat as a I scroll through SLS. I’m up this early because the cat believes it’s her job to wake up my wife at 4:30am, which really pisses of my wife. Since I live by the code of “happy wife, happy life” apparently it’s my job to distract the cat and give her attention until 8am when my wife is ready timber up.

There’s nothing like a friendly, anxiety free kitty.

I was having a similar conversation with a new friend who has an older kitty that just adores me.

I have two at home; one’s a bit aloof, but the other is always all over my business.

(No, really. The 4-legged kind with the sharp claws)

Simple pleasure...

The two cats my late mother and I had adopted as kittens in 2015 are in their senior years now. Honestly though, my cats are in better health & spirits now then they ever were! They have no more anxiety and are in better spirits.

My cats appreciate that I have de-escalated their anxiety over the year and a half since my mother had passed. My cats show their thank you for the de-escalation by sometimes being a pest and want attention.

Simple pleasure is: My cats are worth more to me thn

Red buds are in full bloom and the Dogwoods are beginning to bloom. I really love sitting on my deck late at night with a full moon shinning in the dogwoods. They simply glow. Life is good.

Woof, woof!

The cattails around here are covered in snow. They should be twitching by the time the dogwoods bloom in June.

And now the dogwood are blooming!

Can you tell I love that winter is ending? ;-)

A day off from work spent vegging out.

Beaumont, TX, Us

It’s currently 72 degrees, bright blue skies, a gentle breeze, just finished a nice light lunch while sitting on the patio.
I think I’ll get naked and work on my tan…..
Now if I just had a big fat J…….

Simple pleasure:

The weather is slowly warming and it is currently warm enough to open a window to get some fresh air in the house. It is also nice that as I type this, it is a quiet Sunday morning, just finished breakfast and I can take my time with house chores today.

Peach trees are blooming here too now. Grass is growing unfortunately so I'll have to cut the lawn this week

"...there are chicken houses within a mile..."

LOL

I've seen chicken coops, I've been to a chicken ranch (we were somewhere around Las Vegas when the hormones kicked in...), and there's a breakfast restaurant up in here called the Hen House, but I've never heard of a chicken house before.

BTW, it's possible to get a sportsman's double at the chicken ranch; eggs, not so much.

Or so I've heard.

Simple Pleasure: Touring the chicken ranch after you beat the house at the blackjack table in Vegas.

the peach tree in the backyard has a few blossoms on it!

Fort Payne, AL, Us

For all I know it might be chicken shit - our nearest neighbors have cattle pastures or cotton fields but there are chicken houses within a mile or so.

My nose is not familiar enough with the differences to tell apart the different types of manure. ;-)

Seymour, TN, Us

Be happy it isn't Chicken Shit. That is worse than manure

Fort Payne, AL, Us

red bud trees are starting to bloom!

and I can't tell if the Bradford pear outside our door is stinky this year - one of our neighbors spread manure on his fields recently ;-)

Fort Payne, AL, Us

Bradford pears are blooming

not quite as pleasurable as the other spring blossoms - they are lovely but smell nasty!

Simple pleasure...

Back story: Last summer, my employer's computer system was down and we had to do handwritten receipts. A couple of weeks later, a customer wanted to do a return, but did not have the receipt. I went into both that customer's account and also someone else's that is a close friend of that customer. That customer threw a fit and accused me of 'saying that I was accusing her of fraud,' as their was no record of her purchase. My manager did the return anyway that day. The customer came back two days later with the handwritten receipts for proof.

Today 3-10-25:

The same customer came in this morning and we got along fine. I accepted the order that she wanted to get done and when she came in at midday to pick up her order, we made amends, that last summer is water under the bridge.

Moral: Simple pleasures can come out of nowhere.

@funfor2houston, Mean Gene Kelton rocks

Richards, TX

@Melvin , go to YouTube pull up Gene Kelton and listen to “ My Baby Don’t Wear No Panties “ ….When Gene was living he would play that song and women would pull their panties off and throw them.

Confederate Railroad...

Wow! I haven't heard Trashy Women in years! I'm going to YouTube right now to listen to it!

GoodenuffVeteran

Simple Pleasure: Trashy women, even if they're just a little on the trashy side.

Creamy peanut butter behind the ears might be just a bit too trashy, but there's only one way to be sure...
