Simple Pleasures

Ok, I saw a spelling that I had to correct-- required deleting and reposting. I really need to get the new glasses prescription filled.

@Ann,
I don't want to know your personal business /details. I will simply share that in my own experience, I felt great relief once I decided to dump the uneccessary testosterone from my life. Couple of yrs ago I "de-cluttered" my life of all those who didn't matter and re-established boundaries that anyone outside of my children had to respect if they wished to be in my life.

Of course, the individual has to decide that for themselves. If the problem becomes such a burden that you are eternally miserable or when you realize the dude in question is never, ever really going to be able to make you happy where it counts, then it's probably time to make a choice to put yourself first, even if you have to move on.

Life is too short and too precious to waste time and energy where it will never count!

FINALLY THINKING OF MYSELF FIRST .

Going to dye Easter eggs with Mr.Sexus. We do this every year, just a couple apiece, but it's always simple fun.

Taking our big fuzzy kid with us to go get frozen yogurt later. He gets the last few licks from the bowl.

Simple Pleasure:
A child's genuine full out belly laugh. Quiet lo-tech nights spent with the family at home. Cuddling on the couch. Quiet moonlit night sitting on the beach. The look on Lady's face when she realizes the beauty I see in her.

I have three of them next to me on my desk @ Met! I'll be up late tonight working so they'll be my midnight snack.

@ S and T - I'm not religious at all, but I always liked church music. Always makes me feel "good" and uplifting when I hear it.

I feel the same way about Little Ceasers Pizza. I remembered it being SOOO good about twenty years ago which was the last time I had it. They opened one up a block away from a friends a few weeks ago and I stopped in to get a large pie. OMG it was the worst pizza EVER! I had a feeling it was going to be bad though when the lady rang me up and it only came out to like $5.25! Haha.. By the way, very nice pics ladies! :)

I went to the Maundy Thursday service at my Church and sang in the choir. We did two anthems. One of them was "What Wondrous Love is this." I told my choir, "If any of you are left alive when I go, this is what I want for an anthem at my funeral." I love the sentiment in the song, but I really just love the music of the bass part.

Mrs. Cincy I can relate... And it happens to have been a moonpie for me recently, too. I remember LOVING them as a small child. The one last week had a stale cookie and yeah the chocolate on the outside was "waxy" but until you called it that just now I couldn't quite describe what wasn't right about it. You nailed it.

Oh and Andy Capp hot fries are awesome!

Food can be so laced with nostalgia. My grandpa used to bring me Moon Pies and I adored them. I had one recently and was devastated. The coating was waxy and the cookie was bland. It was terrible. I should have left that flavor in my memory.

I just finished a bag and yes, I love them! My dad always used to bring me a bag when he stopped at the store on his way home from work when I was a kid. Unfortunately not too many places seem to carry them, just 7-11's and mom and pop convenience stores.

You're right about the breath thing though. Ugh!

NJboy- Those are a total guilty pleasure road trip food for me. They make me ridiculously thirsty and cause horrid breath but they are soooooo yummy!

I used to love EWTN and especially Mother Angelica. Missed her since she had to retire after that last stroke.

I so appreciate TV. I was too lazy to go to church tonight for the Maundy Thursday service to witness the washing of the feet of the disciples as Jesus did before his betrayal and Good Friday. It's on EWTN right now.

tbr: Bobbi Brown...I just looked at the box. I must of been thinking of Whitney. He's Bobby though...whatever...LOL..the polish is awesome. It's actually sold as a duo but you can buy just the one. Both are really nice.

Bobbie Brown has his own color? And it is turquoise?

One would have thought some form of off white to match his, uh, habit...

Flowering trees that I had forgotten flowered. They are along my driving route and along my running path. Such a lovely spring surprise.

I think sarongs can be so beautiful. Post pics, BLT.

Simple pleasure: drawing with a very basic number 2 pencil. (well, okay, not TOO basic, but you get the idea, a non-artist pencil)

One of my big toes got bruised from exercising so the French is a no/no. I opted for Bobbie Brown Turquoise which I wear a lot and on my hands I went with the Chanel 93 Metal something or other that I got as a gift years ago and it's lovely. It goes nicely with the bathing suit I am taking with me this weekend which I probably won't even wear....LOL...but it has one of those sarong wrap things which I will wear. I don't like to walk around nude all the time at clothing optional places.
