We just got through watching Wednesday on Netflix and we both enjoyed it.

National Finals Rodeo
It is a 10 night series. The 2nd episode is tonight.
Wednesday. It's probably not for everyone, but it's also a breakout hit for Netflix for a reason.
Watch the 10 episode miniseries Blood & Oil, which is available on Amazon Prime Video.
Just started the English seems really good
We're 2 episodes in on the Prime series called Night Sky, with Sissy Spacek and J. K. Simmons, from Farmer's insurance fame.
It has started off somewhat slow and seemingly disjointed, but enough intrigue to continue watching it. One of the things that it highlighted so far though is aging. I am not so far off from their ages now that the veil of denial hasn't been lifted on my mortality. It's not a key part of the plot as far as I can tell, but the acting was good enough that it hit home for whatever reason.
My bullshit sensor went off almost immediately when it became evident that her female orgasm meditation classes were open to men, and that said men were generally in the majority. The progression was to charging increasingly ridiculous amounts of money for these events and then including amateurish psychobabble to try and raise the cred of the classes to a level commensurate with the insane cost. The "psychology" involved was nothing short of consistently insane justifications for rape and sexual abuse ("I'm going to make a tee shirt that says 'I got raped and all I got was a victim story'"). real consent was nowhere in evidence.
This woman was a predator and bat shit crazy.
The Mrs and I did watch Orgasms Inc, and it was kind of the same take on it as Fokkers. The company was founded by the daughter of a guy that was found guilty on 52 counts of child molestation, as I recall.
Seems part of the premise was that if a woman was open to enjoying sexual advances regardless of the situation, then she could never be raped. If she was raped/molested, experiencing orgasm was a release from the psychological pain.
It sounded like the founder may have meant well in the beginning, but when money/profit and fame entered the picture she really ran off the rails. People could easily argue in hindsight that she was never actually on the rails. While she was likely to evolve into the monster it sounded like she became, social media definitely accelerated the process.
It's unbelievable to me how people with no educational or experiental expertise can be hailed as experts in a field like psychological/sexual/health therapy. And no surprise, Gwyneth Paltrow was a fan. Does this scandal smell like my vagina?
Orgasm Inc. - Netflix documentary
It’s about the rise and fall of a company called One Taste, founded by a woman with some serious psychological baggage, she created a company that taught women to have Orgasmic Meditations (OM), resulting in 15 minute organs from clitoral stimulation. This is an insane documentary about this company or is it a cult and their behavior. It’s about an hour and a half long and it’s pretty good.
Just started watching SAS: Rogue Heroes last night, about the origins of the British Special Air Service in North Africa during WWII. The real characters were pretty wild, and they only exaggerated a little bit in the first episode.
Plus, Bon Scott Era AC/DC in the soundtrack.
Black list - Netflix
Slow Horses with Gary Oldman. British spy show about the MI5 office where they send all of the disgraced fuck ups and drunks. They keep them busy doing the most soul-crushingly boring work in the hopes that they'll quit and save MI5 the trouble of firing them. Problem is, they all want to get back in the game, and they think that if they do their boring jobs well, then they'll be called back. Even though it has never happened....
Great fun.
Person of interest… great show.
Yes we too love it.. on #6 but hope to finish it tonight!
I'm more of a reader than a film or television person, but I spent last week watching the first two seasons of Indian Matchmaker. It was a fascinating dive with just enough drama.
I love the Untold series on Netflix. We watched the 2 part documentary on the catfishing of Manti Te’o. The producers did a great job to get the whole story out. There were some things I was not familiar with and of course a twist…
She Hulk, def. not my thing....I do wonder how all these shows come about, where they are filmed and how they find all of these actors..and how they come up with all the endless dialoge...esp on current sitcoms and how they know people will pay to see the shit they put out....that my Asburgers kicking in..
I watched half a dozen episodes of "How to Build a Sex Room" and found it to be sort of a mixed bag.
On the down side was the "naughty old English lady" that is the star of the series. This seems sort of remniscent of Dr. Ruth in that they seem to have chosen her because she's too asexual to be threatening to anyone. Then there is her penchant for suggesting to each couple involved that they really might want to explore BDSM. It's to the point where there is really no distinction by her between sex, kink, and BDSM. It's just annoying. The skills of the builder invoved are impressive but clearly there is no expense spared (just the sex toys and furniture in a typical build cost more than most people I know would pay for this type of space build out) to the point where it's clear that the owners are being gifted their sex rooms by the producers. That makes it less relevant and not at all "reality" based for me.
To the plus side, and what kept me going, was the personal stories of the people they are building rooms for. A very diverse group and generally pretty believable if clearly not chosen at random. Notable were a Bi/Non-Binary couple of burlesque performers, a couple of very sexy hetero, rural, farmer types, and a large poly group anchored by a young lady who was so sexy and unabashedly kinky that she charmed the pants off me. Or at least I fantasized about her doing so....
Some are just guilty pleasures. For example, we both REALLY enjoyed the first episode of She Hulk on Disney+. We're talking "the Hulk", so it sort of already implies there is no substance ;-)
FWIW - As far as being ADD, the She Hulk moved along and the action and characters developed VERY quickly. It was just really fun for us, but I have always liked the superhero themed stuff so tend to be biased.
Sounds like it's you and not Netflix.
Do all these netflix and similar streaming shows really have any substance to them.. I feel with so many shows being made they must be just mindless dialogue.. My A.D.D really catches that..
Just finished first season of sense 8. Loved it. Netflix.
I was on a flight recently, attempted to watch 2 movies, each with 2 A lister actors...was done after 15 min. on both...just dumb dialoge, no action, drama.. just tough talk back and forth...and that was the only 2 out a maybe 20 that i thought would be good.. maybe better in a theater. too much plane noise to overcome as well. my first time trying to watch a movie on my phone.....Ipad much better, need to buy a used one..
Just finished the 3rd season or Orville. We both enjoyed it. The Mrs corrected me on something. I always thought it was considered just another part of the Star Trek series, but apparently it's not. I did realize that it was not done by Gene Roddenberry, but it is so "Star Trek" like, it's hard to think otherwise.
