'Storyline is a bit more believable then say Billions"
-----
Hey! Billions is/was awesome. I guess I need to check Industry out.
Industry (MAX) — just started watching this series and good lord are the sex scenes hot af. Storyline is a bit more believable then say Billions.
8inch - "They just need to be honest with themselves and their spouse, bf/gf. Have the discussion about joining the lifestyle..."
That was kind of the same conclusion the Mrs and I reached. I realize that wouldn't work in all cases, but at least ask if it's a mutual option.
It's clear that many of these cheaters don't want to leave there spouse and that it's just sex for them. That's exactly what the LS is for. We both enjoy sex with others, but in our case, doing that makes it even hotter for us when we play with each other. In any event, it just takes "sex" off the table as a reason to cheat.
Otherwise, many cheaters just strike me as being selfish. They want sex with others, but they don't want their partner to be able to do the same.
Yeah, I watched it.
Ppl living those double lives. They just need to be honest with themselves and their spouse, bf/gf. Have the discussion about joining the lifestyle or giving free passes from time to time.
Not if, but when Grindr makes their documentary, that's gonna be crazy. There was some video online that said that when the RNC was in Milwaukee, the gay apps had a huge change in locations to the Milw area. Those ppl are in such denial that resorting to sucking the gay away.
The influencer couple in the Ashley Madison doc made it worth the watch for me. That guy was such a transparent douche.
"The Boys" got way too dark for me around season 3. The themes of the mainstreaming of normalized regressive societal misogyny and neo-fascism are far too real these days to be remotely funny. I don't care to be reminded of the darkness in the world when I'm escaping into a good satire. Sort of jars in the same way as when directors mix scenes of sex and sensuality into movies with a core theme of violence. Done well, I'm ok with either. Just not together.
We watched the 3-episode Ashley Madison documentary on Netflix. It was interesting, to say the least. I really didn't follow it when they were hacked, so didn't pay much attention to the company itself when this was going on. We just had no use for AM and could care less about that sort of dirty laundry.
Being that we're both on the same page about being in the LS, we try not to judge, but cheating just comes across as wrong to us. Plus, I was briefly married once prior and that ended mostly due to cheating on my ex's part. Hard not to be somewhat biased, having been on the receiving end of a cheater firsthand.
I finally got caught up on The Boys. Can't wait for Thursday's episode. Some people have really got their panties in a wad over it. Turns out they didn't realize the whole show was making fun of them.
I thought that Evil was pretty good.
The female lead character reminded me a lot of the lead on Weeds.
The Mrs and I are enjoying the hell out of Evil. The first 2 seasons are on Netflix and all 4 seasons are on Paramount+. We just started on season 3.
It's about a team put together by the Catholic church to investigate demonic possessions, angels, miracles and such. The team is a new priest, a psychologist, and a techie. The latter 2 don't believe in demons and such and the team investigates things and tries to explain what happened with science, if possible.
All I can say is watch one episode and it's likely you'll either love it or it will be "meh", but we're really enjoying it.
Finished watching The Last of Us. Really good series. I look forward to Season 2.
Watching Dead Boy Detectives on Netflix. It's fun, in a whimsical sort of way. It combines a cop/detective sort of show with folklore approach to death and moving on to the next plane.
It starts off set in London, which we just came back from, so recognize some of the more obvious touristy places as an added bonus.
I started watching Our Flag Means Death. It's funny. I like What We Do In The Shadows, and it's from the same creator, Taika Watiti.
I finally finished the current seasons of What We Do In The Shadows, The Handmaid's Tale, Only Murders in the Building and now I'm watching Schitt's Creek.
Just finished watching the "The Affair" well worth watching
Hulu/Disney's version of Shogun. Worth a watch.
I would love to see King re-release a version of The Stand, reflecting what we learned during the pandemic. IIRC he rewrote sections of it after the HIV epidemic in the 80's, because he said that he got to see how society really reacted to the spread of a communicable disease.
The new version of The Stand on Amazon, was good, up until the end where it departed pointlessly from the book.
Both the Mrs and I are really enjoying the Emerald City series on Peacock. As one may have guessed, it it a somewhat dark remake of the original Wizard of Oz.
FWIW - I noticed that Peacock also had the new Oppenheimer movie, so may watch that when I have 3 hours to kill.
While we are enjoying Star Trek Discovery, it seems like the chronolgy of Captain Pike is messed up. He appears to be older in the series but in the original Star Trek he appeared to be young when he had his disfiguring event to put him in that high-tech wheel chair on Talos IV. They do show an episode where he sees that future for himself, but his character's age seems off in the series.
Taking advantage of our Paramount account and started watching Halo. I knew I'd like it but the Mrs has kind of been enjoying it too. I didn't realize that Steven Spielberg was involved in this. Happened to catch his name in the credits.
The first four episodes of "Loudermilk" should not be watched with a full bladder. Goes downhill from there but still has its moments.
ionsawmill - "I kind of liked how Picard and Discovery picked up from DS9 the idea of a continuing story as a framework for each episode, instead of each being a “bottle episode.”"
Yeah, both are more like a movie broken into chronological segments.
I kind of liked how Picard and Discovery picked up from DS9 the idea of a continuing story as a framework for each episode, instead of each being a “bottle episode.”
Bit the bullet and ordered a year of Paramount. They have a lot of Star Trek content. Watched and enjoyed the 3 seasons of Picard and now watching Star Trek Discovery. All are good, if you like that sort of thing.
I held off getting Paramount until recently. I went to a Valentine's Day benefit dinner/dance and my bar tab at the end of the night was close to what a year of Paramount was with no commercials. It made me think that I get to enjoy the money spent on Paramount for a whole year vs what I pissed away on 1 night of drinking out.
