I wanted to do something different. I wrote a fiction story. This is completely fiction, okay? This did not happen to me. This story is not based on anyone in particular that I know, but I am sure that it is going to hit every single person. Oh, by the way, I'm not a professional voiceover artist by any means, so I'm not doing voices, okay? You're just gonna hear the story. What about this dress? Rebecca stands in the kitchen, swishing blue fabric around her body. I don't know, Steve responds, not looking up from his tablet. Steve, I need your opinion. I want to look sexy tonight. Rebecca's voice shakes through feigned confidence. Rebecca grabs her phone off the counter and swipes through messages. Micah said Saturday night dinner, 8 p.m., we're going to a sushi place that they like. Steve asked, do swingers eat sushi? It's not a very sexy food. Did they send the address? Yep, they sent her this morning and a nude. Rebecca shows Steve the phone, the scream now filled with a naked woman's body, her face cropped out. Well, that is something. Blinking, Steve takes in the sight. The realization that he will be meeting this woman later still has not settled in his brain. He now looks at his wife fully, undistracted, for the first time. I think you look green and blue. These are swingers who will probably be naked within ten minutes of meeting them, Steve chuckles, hoping his joke lands. It's not like that, Steve. Rebecca chastises him, crosses the room, and hugs him. Her arms fly around his body as she says, It will be fun. It's just dinner. I told Micah all we are interested in is dinner. We want to get to know them, right? Steve relaxes beneath her touch. Just dinner, right? He questions her again for reassurance. I don't want to do anything. Do you remember the code word? There is a hint of pride in Steve's voice. Yes, Steve, I remember Rebecca returns to swishing her dress. I might be fucking a woman tonight. She exclaims, causing Steve's choke. The verbiage, the shock of the statement shocks him. Her emission of excitement causes a surge of adrenaline in his body, the same surge that ran when Rebecca that she was interested in women. Here stood Steve, the man who may be fulfilling a fantasy tonight, the stuff of legends and porn. I thought it was just dinner tonight, Steve wants clarification. Yes, but you never know, Rebecca answers cocky. If, and it is a big if, we are doing just girl on girl, right? Steve asks, wanting to reiterate their rules again. Yes, that's it, just me and another woman, Rebecca turns to try on another dress. I want to make sure that we both We both agree on the rules tonight. Steve drops his normal laughter-filled voice and takes a serious tone. Steve, it is just dinner. Rebecca says, already tapping out a message to Micah, but you never know. Leaving his wife to her furious outfit changes, Steve has a quiet moment in the shower. Between washing his hair and lathering his body, there is a quiet space for thoughts. He thinks about Rebecca being so excited to do this. He thinks about his own excitement when she told him. He thinks about how they both got excited when they received a message from a couple. It was short. Hey, you two look like fun. We would like to get to know you better. Let us know if you're interested. That was it. Rebecca, she was hooked, and started chatting with Micah daily for the past week. Every day after work, Rebecca would fill in Steve on their conversations, and he often caught Rebecca looking at her phone compulsively to see if Micah had texted. Steve didn't feel quite right the first time Rebecca asked him to take a topless picture of her, But he liked her confidence. After three kids and time, seeing Rebecca have confidence in her body again was a turn-on for him. The past week, Rebecca has been way more intimate and loving with him, which Steve enjoyed. Between shampoo and conditioner, though, Steve's mind started to question, was this the right thing to do right now? What would people think if they found out? What would his boss say or his mom? As Steve rinses the soap off, he lands on his one safe thought. It's just dinner. They can walk out at They don't have to do this, right? Rebecca would understand he is positive. Micah and Tom would be willing to wait. There were a lot of what-ifs in Steve's mind as he dried off, and all those were swept away when Rebecca charges into the bathroom to check on his progress in getting dressed. Should I wear underwear tonight, Rebecca asked? Yes, you need to wear underwear, Steve answers, shocked at her question. Rebecca checks her lipstick again. She wanted tonight to be real. For the third time since Steve and Rebecca left their house, the babysitter had asked where they were going tonight in the casual way that people do. Steve blurted out, just dinner, shuffling Rebecca to the car where she checked her lipstick for the first time. Okay, this is the place. Do you remember the code word? Steve asked, gathering his keys and wallet. Yes, cucumber, I remember Steve. This is it. Rebecca gives a big dramatic smile towards Steve and barrels out of the car. Their first night out in weeks and Rebecca The restaurant they had chosen is loud and frantic. Steve notices the hostess seems to be on the edge of a breakdown with a rush of people coming in bunched up by the front door. Rebecca weaves through the people to start scanning the tables. A little laugh, half a wave, when she notices Micah standing and waving from the back of the restaurant. Steve and Rebecca lock hands and they move together. Rebecca squeezes Steve's hand when they approach Micah and Tom, happy that they at least matched their approach. Steve approaches them first in the heavy wooden booth with a flickering electric candle on the table for ambiance. Tom stands to greet them, while Micah fidgets with her phone, turning her attention finally to Steve and Micah. Tom is a full head taller than Steve, firm handshake that moves too much. Good to meet you, Steve, right? Tom asks, pointing at Steve to lock the name in his memory. Tom waves his hand to the opposite side of the booth, offering them seats. Micah offers her hand to them over the table. Hi, I'm Micah. You must be Rebecca. Micah's hands are soft to the touch. Gentle. Hi, I'm Steve and this is Rebecca. Steve holds his hand behind Rebecca's back, both keeping her close but offering. Hi, I'm so nervous. Rebecca confides, sliding into the booth, dropping her purse loudly next to her, across from Micah, while the men both sit down. Oh, don't be nervous. It is just a date, Tom reassures Rebecca, laughing. I know y'all are new to this, is no pressure tonight. Steve wants to ask a question about tonight and get some clarification, but he's interrupted by the waiter dropping off a hot bottle of sake in tiny cups. Drinks are here. We went ahead and ordered some sake. I hope you don't mind. Is alcohol okay? Micah asks, Oh, yes. What is this, sake? Fancy. I haven't had this since college. Rebecca pours a serving with shaking hands. She rattles off thanks for the connection and the messages and the invitation to dinner. Steve puts a hand on her leg under the table to slow her down a little bit, but she ignores it. I need it tonight. You don't understand. Work has been crazy lately. Rebecca sips her sake, near rambling, bouncing around like a rubber ball in this moment of freedom. So Steve, what do you do for work? Tom asks, pouring his own sake. Well, I'm a data analyst. It's not fun, but it pays the bill, Steve answers. Data analyst? We have a few of those working for my company, Tom responds. Before Steve can ask more, Micah chimes in. Tom runs a real estate company. Rebecca, you said you have never been with a woman before, right? Micah sips her sake calmly. Well, I did fool around a little bit in college with a friend, Rebecca answers. Micah nods and presses. What made you decide to try it now? Rebecca rattles off the answer, honest and pouring her heart out. I read a book, she replies bashfully. I know, one of those smut books from TikTok. It was so hot. was about a woman who joined a soccer team and became friends with another woman on the team. They kissed in the locker room after a game and the way it was written was so beautiful. They became friends and then they had to decide whether to stay on the team and then Micah cuts her off. Oh, okay, that makes sense. What about it excites you? Um, I don't know. It sounds fun and I couldn't stop thinking about it for days. And then I talked to Steve about it and he was open to it. Rebecca feels stupid in this moment to ramble about her taste in books. but is relieved by Micah's reassurance. She sips her sake through nervous hands. It is fun. Micah states through a smile, cutting off Rebecca. Steve, ask, how long have y'all been swingers, wanting to interject somewhere into this conversation? Well, we don't call ourselves swingers, Micah answers in a slight condescending tone. We prefer to say lifestyle. Oh, yeah, I saw that somewhere. Steve nods, feeling small in that moment. Lifestyle? That sounds fun, Rebecca interjects. It is fun, Micah responds again with a smirk. Micah's phone chimes. Oh, let me take this, it may be work. Micah shoos Tom out of the booth and heads towards the bathroom. Locking herself into a stall, Micah unlocks her phone to find a nude from another couple. Young couple, 27 and 29. She types out a perfunctory compliment, inspects the picture, then locks her phone again. There is no jealousy in her about Rebecca or the nude. It doesn't come anymore. Inspecting herself in the mirror, Micah fixes her hair, musing on the nude she received. A young couple, younger than Steve and Rebecca. She makes a mental note to reach out again to them later tonight. Did they have plans this weekend? Micah tries to remember while reapplying lipstick and what was on their calendar. She will show Tom later to see if he is interested, making another mental note. Tom appears to like Rebecca, at least, and he was dropping hints the whole way here about how bad he wants to see Micah and Rebecca together. Not so much hints, though, as just outright fucking statements. It's fine, Micah thinks. Tomorrow she has Pilates class, and she needs to get her yoga mat out of the car. Another mental note. Okay, you got this. Get through tonight and tomorrow Tom is playing golf, and then we can go out on the boat on Sunday. Yes, Micah rattles off their weekend plans to herself as she leaves the bathroom, returning to find the three of them in mid-conversation about something she doesn't need to catch. Welcome back, Tom bellows to Micah. Rebecca was telling us about their trip to Cancun last year. We went there a couple of years ago, right? Yes, Micah responds, shuffling back into the booth to find the sushi laid before them. So, Rebecca, how old are you? Tom asks while picking at the fresh sushi. Micah pops Tom gently on his arm. You can't ask people that, laughing off the question to defuse this bomb. Rebecca blinks at the question, then just volunteers the answer. I'm 35 and Steve is 36. Her answer lands hard and she ponders the why they asked since their profile listed their ages. Oh, okay, Tom responds, nodding, then shoving a piece of sushi into his mouth. Conversation slows as they chew, as the last plates lay empty Steve's question finally comes back around, and Steve stammers it out. So how does this usually work? Do y'all meet people? And then how does the sex work? Steve trails off, his train of thought picked up by Oh, it's no pressure. We like to get to know people, make sure everyone clicks. The honest answer is a lot of dates don't even end in anything besides having a few drinks. Speaking of Rebecca, Micah notices Rebecca's tiny cup is empty and pours her a second round. The sake seems to put Rebecca's mind at ease and Micah lets it help. Oh, thank you. This stuff is strong, Micah. Rebecca accepts the tiny cup taking a sip. As the cup rises to Rebecca's mouth, Tom asks, So, Steve, what do you do for work? I'm a data analyst. Computers. Steve's eyes narrow at the redundancy. Oh, that's right. I remember now, Tom exclaims. Rebecca notices the slide and chimes in. Well, the lifestyle sounds fun. This has been a great first date. Thank you. To be honest, we were so nervous. Steve has barely eaten all week. Oh, don't be nervous, Tom fills the awkward silence after. We won't bite. Hard chimes in Micah while they both laugh. Rebecca checks her makeup again. Steve sits idle in the car, hands on the steering wheel, staring forward. We talked about this just at dinner. Steve does not look at Rebecca, only forward into the streetlights in the parking lot they find themselves in now. She knows that look, tight jaw, measured breathing. Don't do this, she thinks. Not a plea anymore, a demand. Calm down. The night is going great and they want to hang out more, Rebecca states. Joy in her voice, a little forced, touching his arm lightly to reassure him. Remember, we said dinner, she adds, gathering her purse. We said just dinner. We were going to go home after Steve still stares forward through the lights. Let's get a few drinks and then we can go. Rebecca smacks her lips and grabs her purse. Steve blurts out, the three of you finished off a bottle of sake. have had enough drinks? Steve finally turns to look at her. Steve, we will have one drink and then we will leave, okay? Rebecca's question feels like an order to Steve. Rebecca exits the car, the night air hitting her bare legs, adding zest to life. Inside the bar, they now find themselves as she can hear music and laughter and light spilling into the parking lot. She adjusts her dress as she walks and determined, fast steps and three-inch red heels, ready for that other drink to calm her down. and Steve's. For a moment, she thinks about following Steve's lead, following his thoughts, just going home, hanging in the dress back up, crawling in a bed, reading till she falls asleep, getting up tomorrow morning, coffee, work, kids, no. She doesn't want another almost night. She doesn't want to stop this. She decides she will not apologize for this night to herself. This is her night, dammit, and she has earned it. She deserves it. This is the first time they've gone out to dinner in weeks. Work sucks. The kids always have something to do after school, and they suck too. Tonight is her night. Whatever hesitation disappears as she opens the door of the bar and sees Micah and Tom waiting. Another one. Rebecca cradles a drink in her hand as Micah passes it over the table in the cramped booth of the bar. Steve's eyes wander around the speakeasy-themed bar to the plush couches, scones, and tacky gold decorations. Tom is now sitting next to Rebecca while Steve is cramped next to So what is your playstyle? Steve asks, snapping back to reality, wanting to steer the conversation away from the lady's favorite sex toys they were discussing. He is reciting a question he learned from the internet about swingers. Micah snaps her attention to Steve, driving eyes. Oh, we don't like labels. I would consider myself bisexual if we had to say it. Micah answers, half-glaring her eyes. Who needs labels anyway? What four people do in the privacy of their bedroom? We don't need to name it. Tom chimes in to Steve, direct and driving. I think I would consider myself as bisexual. Rebecca nods in agreement, setting her drinks on the table. Something about kissing a woman just makes my nipples hard, you know? Rebecca! Steve chides her forwardness and openness. Same, Micah nods, staring at Rebecca's half-empty drink on the table. Well, how about you have your first kiss with a woman right now? Tom's voice drops, still audible over the noise at the bar, nudging Micah. Oh, I don't know, now? Rebecca stammers, looking at Steve. We are in public, though, Steve leans in. It's fine, no one notices anything in this bar, they do not care. Micah waves her hand, dismissing any concerns. Okay, Rebecca agrees, steadying herself in the booth, turning to Micah, hands on her lap like she is about to receive a medal. Good girl, Tom whispers, taking a sip from his drink. Micah leans into Rebecca's face, parting her lips. Steve sees the joy in Rebecca's eyes to finally fulfill her fantasy. But something doesn't line up. The practice angle, the certainty in Micah's actions, and Tom, Tom's staring wide-eyed, broad smile. Steve watches because there is nowhere else to look. He follows Tom's lead, forcing a smile to cover something about this moment he can't name. Cover something weird about this moment. The lady's part and Rebecca is still smiling as she says, thank you with half-closed eyes. Tom throws in, that was so hot. Steve sits in silence, unsure what to say or do. Micah notices his discomfort and asks, did you like that? While pulling Rebecca into a hug and swaying, um, yes, it was hot. Steve echoes Tom's statement, taking a sip of his drink to finish his sentence. Micah checks her hair again in the mirror and adjusts her pajamas. They are not comfortable pajamas. They actually are tight in all the wrong places, but Tom likes them. She checks her phone to see a message from Rebecca saying that they are on their way to their house. Micah responds to another couple asking about plans next weekend. Mike? Where's Micah? Where's my Viagra? Tom yells from the bedroom. It's in the nightstand, dear. Micah answers, knowing where everything is in the house at any given moment and answering to her nickname, Mike. Rebecca is a cutie. Tom pokes his head into the bathroom to get a cup of water. She is. How many are you taking tonight? Micah asks, putting her phone face down on the counter. I'm going to take three. It's going to be a fun night. Tom smiles after popping the pills back. Be careful. Your dick might explode. Micah chides him. One last adjustment to her outfit in the mirror Oh, I hope so Tom chuckles and disappears Outside in the driveway Rebecca checks her hair in the tiny mirror in the windshield visor Outside there is the darkness of a neighborhood save for a streetlight on the corner What are we doing? Steve pleads to the drunken Rebecca Steve, the bar got busy It's just a drink at their house Rebecca climbs out of the car a tiny misstep on the driveway to the front door, bracing her. A single knock, timid on the door by Steve, scared to make too much noise this late at night, and the door opens to Micah, ushering them inside. Oh, I love that outfit, Rebecca exclaims, noting Micah's change from the public to the private setting. A cotton pajamas set, hugging her body in all the right places. Hey, Tom exclaims from the kitchen, mixing a drink. Glad y'all found a place. It was easy, thank you, Rebecca answering, answers taking the drink from tom steve shuffles inside um your house is lovely shoes off he asks applying a toe to his other heel noting the pile of shoes by the door yes please micah responds then takes rebecca by the hand to the couch so tell me more about these smut talk books you you know i i can't read fiction i mostly stick to historical books micah states in a flirty tone oh they are great the conversation becomes background noise to steve as he approaches tom Noticing his change in attire. I didn't know this was a pajama party. I feel overdressed. Steve chuckles. Oh, it's okay. We like to be comfortable at home. Tom reassures him. You want a drink? Steve takes the drink, only the second one of the night. Tom reorients his body to block the view of the women. You know, Steve, you have a very beautiful wife. Tom swirls the ice in his glass. Um, thank you. Micah is very pretty, too. Steve responds in kind. We are lucky men, Tom offers up. Yes, we are. Steve visibly relaxes, shoulders lowering. Tom adjusts himself through his shorts and toasts to Steve. A squeal from the living room breaks Steve out of his revelry and relaxation. Leaning around Tom, he sees his wife, blue dress, pulled down, exposing her chest, Micah nibbling her nipple. The ladies are laughing, sharing an inside joke about their breasts. "'Rebecca!' Steve exclaims and changes his tone mid-word to mock humor. "'So we leave you two alone for five minutes and this is what happens?' Tom walks over to the couch, standing over the ladies. "'What do you expect, honey? Look at her, she is so cute!' Micah giggles while Rebecca blushes. "'Hey, Tom, do you have any snacks? Maybe some cucumber?' Steve drops the word, envisioning a full stop. But nothing happens. Rebecca just smiles at Micah and laughs. Cucumbers? No, I don't think we have any of that, Tom answers quizzically. Oh, that's okay. I just had a weird craving for cucumber right now, Rebecca. Steve forces the words at his wife. Tom leads on the edge of the couch. You know, Micah, I could have sworn Rebecca doesn't have panties on. Micah lights up, turns to Rebecca. Really? Her tone slipping into a mix of sultry and curious. Maybe. Rebecca giggles, humming at Micah, and then they both laugh. Micah grabs Rebecca in a hug, pulling her down flat onto the couch. Steve watches as Micah slithers on top of Rebecca while Tom stands over them, grinning, adjusting himself. Tom continues the tour of the house ending in the bedroom. Steve tries to pull Rebecca close to comfort as they walk through the house as they look at each room, but she shrugs him off, swiping at his hand, touching her hip, inspecting each room instead. Micah closes the door to the bedroom, taking care not to make a sound, not to distract from the expectant air. So this is the final stop on the tour, Tom announces, grinning broadly. Micah takes the drink from Rebecca's hand, setting it on the nightstand, and leads her to the bed with the other hand. Maybe we should sit down and get comfortable, Micah suggests to no one in particular. The ladies laugh together. I need to use the restroom please Steve quietly admits Tom points and says oh sure bud right through the door thank you Steve enters the spacious bathroom closing the door behind him he goes to the mirror stares at the face looking back at him the night is escaping through the window and he is a guard watching it go Rebecca is too drunk now he knows this he wants to escape with her reset the night could he run can he stop this what would Rebecca say Steve splashes water on his face for no reason and to know On the counter sit a bottle of pills, Viagras. He rolls the bottle in his hands and thinks about taking one. Maybe that would help. Shaking his head, he places the bottle back on the counter. The thoughts still weigh down his brain when he goes back to the room. When Steve enters that room, he finds Rebecca, naked, under Micah, the blue dress crumpled up on the floor. That image burned into his brain now, Thomas hovering with his phone out taking pictures. Steve doesn't know which act to address first. Steve stomps to the side of the bed. Rebecca, his voice shocked, breaking slightly. Oh, calm down. We are just having fun. Micah kisses Rebecca again, silencing any protest from her. And what the, what are you doing taking pictures? Steve turns to Tom. Oh, it's no big deal. I won't share them with anyone. This is, this is fucking hot. I'm going to keep this from a private collection. Tom lowers his phone. Steve, please. Rebecca's voice is flat. a knife towards her husband, forcing him to lower his shoulders. Yes, Steve, let's have some fun! Micah laughs, lowering her head between Rebecca's legs, causing a soft, oh yeah, to come from Tom as he pops his hard cock out of his shorts. He starts stroking himself, glaring at the women. Rebecca's moan strikes Steve's ears with a discordant harmony, a piano play with a sledgehammer, just wrong somehow. Micah's tongue mechanically inspects Rebecca. Any other day, Micah's lack of skill would be evident with anyone who had any experience licking a vagina. But since Rebecca lacks any frame of reference, she is in ecstasy right now. The heat of Micah's breath of fulfillment, the current of desire finally free. This is too much, too much, Steve declares, the only words he can think to speak right now. All eyes in the room stop and turn towards him. Tom stops stroking himself and nods to Micah. Detangling from Rebecca, Micah turns her attention to Steve for the first time tonight. She approaches in a fluid move, sliding her hand over Steve's pants and pulling him in for a kiss. The kiss is hollow, though, all tongue, but Steve relents under the pressure of another human engaging him. He closes his eyes to be with a moment, just to enjoy it, force himself to enjoy this. Shuffling, a drawer opening, and Rebecca giggling. He does not know how long he was kissing Micah, but it was enough time for to put on a condom and climb on top of Rebecca, just hovering. Rebecca, drunk, does not protest this move. She smiles and strokes him. The sight jolts Steve to action. Stop. What the fuck are you doing? Steve pushes Micah away, a disheartened look spreading on her face. We did not agree to this. Steve, the only one still fully clothed in the room, is now in the spotlight. Steve, calm down. It's okay. Rebecca never breaks. makes eye contact with Tom. No, we are done. Steve grabs Rebecca's dress from the floor and then her arm sliding her out from under Tom. Steve, come on. Let Micah show you some fun. Tom pleads his dick offensive somehow even in this room. No, we need to leave now, Rebecca. Steve is beyond the point of return. Rebecca knows that tone in his voice. It is anger, righteous anger, and it is met by her anger. Two waves crashing together. Fine, Rebecca yells back at him. Micah, to her credit, has retreated from the chaos, picking up her phone again to check for messages. You son of a bitch, you're ruining this for me. Rebecca is yelling back now, matching the fury of the room. Tom stands at the end of the bed, a wrecked penis, hands on his hips, just waiting and smiling. We do not agree to any of this. Steve waves at Tom's erection. Micah places the phone back on her. and just smiles at her husband. All right, that's my story. I wanted to write a story. And I don't know, I just got a wild hair and decided to run with a newbie couple. So no, this did not happen to us, did not happen to me. This is a completely made-up fabrication. But it could happen. It could happen to you. It could happen to somebody you know. you can be brand new to this and deal with this shit. You never know. I had the Earth to Write a Fiction story and this is what came out. And I need to be clear, there are no villains in this story. However you dissect this, however you're looking at this, there are really no villains. Everyone is just as guilty and innocent as the next person. There are no winners in this, only contestants, only cross boundaries, poor communication, and people pushing too hard. No matter how long you have been in the life I am sure you can identify with at least one person in this story. That's a good thing, okay? This is the kind of story that sparks conversations. This is the kind of story that you sit down with your spouse and say, oh my god, I listened to this and I need to talk to you about this. If you're a new couple, I need you to sit down. I need you to look at this scenario and say, what would we do? That's important. Let me know if you're interested in more fiction stories because I certainly enjoy Thank you for listening and tuning in every week. Make sure you tell a friend about this show, please.
