Site improvements

"As new and exciting features like Instant Messaging with the ability to attach and send photos".
We already had that. It was called Mail.

"Now, (we) has a new system for submitting issues or asking questions for SLS staff to address and respond. This new system is called our Support Ticket System. Going forward, in order to contact a staff member about an issue, this new system will need to be utilized to receive a prompt response."
Will these e-mails go to the same place where "our support staff has been notified" when I get the constant log in errors? Because those errors still occur and are constant. Hey! Here's a site improvement idea: Make it so I can log in and stay logged in.

I just tried to post a reply in this thread, and got this response:

Sorry this post contains words that are not allowed please try again

No indication of which word was in violation

To the surprise of no one, including me, the first new IM I received from someone who wasn't already IMing me was this: "Would you like to watch me stroke my cock on cam for you sexy goddess boss"

So, hey, thanks, SLS, for giving me not only low quality contacts in a low quality format but also giving them a reason to go far and wide with their unsolicited bullshit.

E Mail and Instant messages are 2 different things...They should be treated as such....ANOTHER Boner for SLS...who now looks for ways to make the web site less user friendly!!!

and just like the "what would you like to see" thread...silence from SLS as their members and paying subscribers speak. All that buildup, hoopla, and parade planning for major changes and we got different IM functionality.

Kind of like in Christmas Story when Ralph got a pink bunny suit and wanted a BB gun. The letdown is off the charts and we didn't even get it gift wrapped.

Crickets, crickets, crickets.

Sounds like this site is going the way of being just another HI Tech social media IM site like all the never ending sites out there that are FREE.
If all those other sites are FREE, like Facebook, Twitter, KIK, etc. Guess that means this site will also be FREE to everyone. Would think this site would need to stay competitive with all the other FREE sites out there where you can IM, send Pics, etc. all for FREE.

Does that mean we should expect that SLS will be cheerfully refunding any monies paid in the past by paid members to belong to an old fashioned behind the times unique site that offered more than just IM? You know stuff like e-mails.
Anyone out there care to guess when the paid members can expect to see a REFUND check in the mail now that we have gratefully jumped into the future of FREE social media.

FYI, While viewing "who's on" if you click on message (intentionally or by accident) then immediately close the pop up window without sending a message it counts as a profile view.

Dear SLS,

Just for the record, dropping "mail" and going to IM only is one of the dumbest attempts at "site improvements" I can imagine.

Us (along with many other members) did not, would not, and simply refused to even use the IM when it was an alternative form of communication, for multiple reasons that are all covered in the many responses above.

From that data which is actually spelled out on many, many profiles that state "NO IMs", you surmised that eliminating the email option was the correct path forward????

Yes, I am a lifetime member, and so no, you won't get any more money from me anyway, so I can only assume you do not give a rat's ass what I think. Nonetheless, this is my opinion.

There are some good improvements being made just not here. The improvement is the fact we just now signed up on SDC and Kasidie. It seems those websites find their email services of value. Hmm, I wonder if they sponsor Lifestyle Cruises as well. ......I guess we are moving on...

IM sucked (not a good way) but so far this is worse!!!

I must say I'm a bit confused by the new mail configuration. It's like everything is just an instant message instead of being able to actually write a few sentences about yourself. This is going to do wonder's for the decent single mail trying to make an impression on couples that are already of sick of single males sending one line emails with dick pics attached.

We're seeing a lot more of the screens that say

"We're sorry, it appears the web page you are tying to access seems to be having problems.

Our support staff has been notified. We will correct the problem as soon as possible. "

I like that we can only attach a public picture via email.

I love the fact the Mail (back and forth) will now be gone and with Video Chat We now will know if 1. It's a couple or a male shopping for the couple. 2. Are they together? 3. Pictures match the video 4. Are we dealing with coherent people or just folks getting high and making bad decisions. Bring on the True/Real swinger and out with the Fakes and Flakes. Hallelujah.

I'm not "Hatin", rather, respectfully and enthusiastically disagreeing with an earlier post that would seem an attempt at educating the great unwashed in the finer points and cost of operating a site. First and foremost, whether the poster or even the owners of SLS agree or not, we Lifetime members are of great value to the site on a number of levels. Our first value is/was, we provided a significant influx of money on the front side; Money site owners could use to purchase servers and bandwidth capacities without incurring the added costs of borrowing. Second, the numbers of Lifetime members a new or potential member sees when initially browsing SLS builds confidence in the value and the validity of the site. A new or potentially new member's confidence is raised with a reasonable belief that, if there are that many people who have chosen to become Lifetime members, leading them more easily commit to registering with SLS rather than some other site. Third, Lifetime members are committed to the site and provide an invaluable resource to the site owners as to what members want that will add value to the site and what we don't want that will devalue it. The last thing that comes to mind is as simple as a trusted resource to review and approve new photos and profiles. What would the additional cost to the site be if they had to pay someone to review every new posting or photo added to the site.

My last comment about this is, the poster indicated that after paying processing fees and taxes, the site would only receive $21.41 of a $29.95 fee for a 3 month subscription. Given it's only Wednesday and the site currently shows there are 8301 new members this week. If we allow that only 30% will actually register for a 3 month membership after the initial trail, that leaves a weekly net in excess of $53K or more than $2.7 Million income annually. I think they can afford to keep the lights on AND restore the email so many members so obviously want.

All I gotta to say after reading about the site improvements is

LOL...

IF a survey is being conducted, or you value ANY of your customers' opinions, please place MY vote to the 'switch' to IM-Only communication as a step backwards. My preference? The way it 'was'!

If this is an improvement for the site, where is the blog of users that like it.

LOL, we see a banner at the top stating "click here to see what's new" and we land on a 404 Page not found. How's that for a summation?

So after MONTHS and MONTHS of "give us your suggestions for site improvements"...THIS is what we receive??? So many other good and creative solutions to fix this site and improve functionality and give a fresh look and actually provide benefits to paying subscribers and THIS is what was in the gift wrapped box???

(shakes head in utter disbelief and walks away slowly as the music fades)...

Gone is the damn mail. Management has a "better idea".
You can no longer write a paragraph. Only read two or three lines at a time.
Wasup ! Bangin' ! Hey Baby !
Is the new and improved form of communication.
IM SUCKS

Gone are the days of reading mail without actually acknowledging it was read...

And now it to top it all off, it's only working on some profiles and not others that we send out a message.
