Opinion please. Lifetime, renew, run?

when I first signed up for lifetime it was worth it. since then they stopped notifying us we have an email. I dont check this site everyday but dont want to keep a couple or female waiting... its hard enough being single on here but when they think I am ignoring their email they will move on to the next. Now we cant seem to view half the pictures or allow or deny pictures. I think SLS better fix alot of things or they wont be in business much longer

We are Lifetime Members here and were lifetime members on another site, which is buying up lifestyle sites all over trying to create a national presence. For the sites they are buying, the lifetime members are given 3 months to convert to monthly members or are jettisoned. Lifetime means the life of the site, not your life.

The second site was OK when we purchased a lifetime membership but went downhill for years. Now it is getting lots of upgrades, but has become a mostly porn site, lots of dick pics and now videos, masquerading as a site for members to meet. I dared criticized them and they said I was ungrateful and revoked my lifetime membership, no real loss although I occasionally appreciated the amateur porn. SLS has tons of programming issues and a worthless app, but it still the best from what I can tell for actually meeting real people.

The comments I read on this forum are mostly spot on but I am most thankful that Wayne and everyone else working here has think skins. Wayne et al, if you could do one thing please once a month tell us what issues the programmers see and what they are working on. No more surprises.

I am fascinated that you are considering staying on after having used the site for as long as you have. If I hadn't already paid for a lifetime membership, we would have moved to some other platform ages ago. The recent mess was just another crappy thing in a long list of "why can't this site be like every other dating site and let me control my shit?"

Go ahead and click on a profile this morning and see how long it takes to load. If that is acceptable performance, then by all means pay!

It is the investment of time I am concerned about, not the cost of the product. Obviously we have paid more monthly being members on and off since 2015.

@moekathy. Hi. I have, in no way, experienced what you told of on the forum. Following that: I can't even remember the lifetime membership from my joining sls. Certainly less than I paid for my last pair of stilettos. :) hugs

Once you pay for a lifetime membership, two things will change for you:

1) You will become "matried" to the site, and will have a harder time justifying paying for another site if you are unhappy with the site or it's features.

2) Your opinion of the SLS service will no longer matter to SLS.

If you are okay with that, then by no means pay. Consider it as sunk cost if you can afford it.

If we were to do this all over again, we would not sign up here. We have used different sites in the past and they were much friendlier and more fun than this site.

Our cost for a lifetime membership has turned out to be about $1.35 per month at this point and keeps getting lower.

As frustrated as we get with this site it's been a pretty good value.

If the site ran reliably, even at the "two monkeys humping a Commodore 64 in 1985" level that we've all known and loved, I'd recommend going Lifetime. The community here is the main draw, not the site functionality itself.

But with the "improvements" over the last couple of years... 50-50 at best.

As far as this single lady is concerned : a lifetime membership was the way to go
There is no comprable website in my experience . Cheap at twice the price and no monthly billing.

My current issue is time. We have finite amount of time we can play. Mommy and daddy can only play when the kids are away.

I want a website that works. I don't have a bunch of time to sit around hoping pictures will load or hoping the chat function will. Why spend the time when I can use it else where. Thank you all for your responses. We will talk it over more and make a decision.

WOW DJ your advice is hilarious.. quote from YOUR PROFILE: "First off, I'm married and she does not know. So if that is an issue - let me know".

No photos, cheating and wow just wow .. You Sir are not a swinger but a cheater who belongs on Ashley Madison... SERIOUSLY !

Most swingers do not play with married guys cheating.. and you give advice!

Now as far as SLS website.. we are a Lifetime member.. it was the best buy for the buck at the time. YES lately many issues, many people from CL which closed down are now here..many cheaters are now here( Kat had 3 last year and called them out during our first or second meet... we always find out) vs real swingers.. We looked at SLS as a one night one payment and use it mainly to stay in touch with our already friends with benefits we have established.. clubs, events and hopefully things will improve. We are meeting some new single guys next week and played with new ones last year several times.. so one just has to weigh all options and whats best for you..

Taking any advice from a married cheater on a swing site is a joke!

I paid for mine a long time ago, but with the issues with the site in the past and lately, I would spend my money elsewhere. Plus I'm not sure if you would get your money's worth anywhere with the flakiness of people on these sites these days. It seems a lot like chatting, but few actually want to meet in person. But that's from a guy's perspective.

As others have said, I wouldn’t There are way better sites out there. SLS has numbers though depending on your area SLS may be the thing or the other sites may be your thing. For example Bay Area California is not a SLS thing, but central ca is SLS. If I had to do it over again SLS would not be in my top 5. Every one I talk to hates SLS but are forced to use it. We have friends that let their membership laps since they can sign up for parties as a free member. But for hot dates etc they use other sites and skip SLS entirely.

I am expecting this to be locked or even deleted.

The cost of a lifetime membership is less my annual Starbucks bill. Is it worth it? Well, that would depend on whether the sum represented a significant outlay relative to income or whether you would have to give something up (my lifetime membership was paid for in 2012, so any sacrifice is long over), how much use you would get, and whether you could get a similar experience elsewhere.

I think there's a real opportunity for other sites to clean SLS's clock, but that's been true for the last couple years and it hasn't happened yet, so if I had to make the decision, I'd use the metrics above.

We can honestly say that if we entered the lifestyle today, SLS would not be on our list of sites worthy of our money. There are a number of reputable sites out there other than SLS that simply put, are just 1,000x better at everything than SLS is. Given the last 2 weeks, there's no way I would ever recommend paying for this site the way it is now.

The negative side: I'd struggle to find a reason to buy a lifetime subscription here again. It was absolutely a value when we did it, but you knew what you were getting back then. I don't feel that way now. The app is getting major love on a consistent basis while they treat website as a bastard stepchild. We don't (and won't) use the app, so we're getting the short end of the stick pretty consistently. We also have privacy concerns that are (imo) now even greater given the "virus"/security precautions we've experienced recently.

Here's the other side of that coin: A lifetime membership costs less than we normally invest for a weekend at a resort. We have had more success playing here than we have at the resorts we've visited. For us is made financial sense. If you're the type of person that feels comfortable investing money on the off-chance you'll get laid, then go for it. If it doesn't work you've not lost much. If it does then the gamble paid off.

I would still go on a month to month basis until you see if the site gets improved. There have been numerous over the past couple of months. I think it has a lot of people considering if they will stay on here.

My husband and I had stopped our recurring payment to the site about a week before the incident. In the past we used it as a way to show when we were actively seeking. If not looking/able to play we would stop the subscription until ready again.

We didn't want people contacting us and not knowing and possibly offending someone. We've paid more in the long run. Recently we thought we would just buy the lifetime pass. Cannot purchase the pass until this months subscription expires, which is tomorrow.

Now after the incident I can't even upload new pictures. We took the old ones down for safety precautions.

Looking for opinions. Should we get the lifetime pass and hope the site gets fixed, give it another month subscription and see then decide, or just cut all ties? Opinions please
