Message read notification

I can't agree more! Definitely would be a good way to weed out certain people from your searches

We second that Travelers.. speaks volumes when they have been on and messages sent but not returned.

For us its next lets move on says all we need to know!

I don't personally care if it shows read or unread. If they have been online after the message was sent and did not reply, it was ignored either way and I assume they are not interested. As others said however, the elimination of the mail and only having the messenger now was a definite downgrade here.

They need to fix it .... I'm a founding member and it seems like we keep getting more and more things taken away. If we knew it had been read that would keep people from sending multiple emails and probably being a pain in the butt ... It would be so nice if when we write someone they could be respectful and say either a simply yes or no ..... Does anyone what agree with me in they

In the old system, you could read emails without opening them, so you still couldn't necessarily tell if someone had seen your message.

When the site had the e-mail feature you could see if your message was read if you were a paid member. Not so since SLS went to the message system & did away with the e-mail.

This would also allow us single males to be less annoying if we know our message has been read or not. If they read and ignore, then move on. But if you are not sure if it was read, you may give a 2nd or 3rd shot...

Why can't the site have a way of telling us that a message sent to someone had actually been opened and or read. It's really disappointing that we have no way of knowing if the person we sent it to read it. It would definitely take the unknown aspect out of there is an interest.
