I'm sure it's in the DB logs. If you look at my original block of the member, that timestamp, then compare timestamps of his private messages that would confirm it actually happened.
Member Block Not Working

I was on vacation last week. I tested the block feature this morning using multiple profiles and the blocks were instant. Using both a web browser and a mobile app, as soon as I blocked the other profile, the other profile could no longer send me a message. Even if the other profile was logged in and sitting on the message page with the message thread showing on their screen, if I tried to send a message, the message just disappeared once the block was in place.

So to sum up, I have not been able to recreate the issue you describe.

@calcanfun2 - I agree w/ you. And it's not a coldfusion thing, it is an incompetence thing. And I think their explanation "Blocks don't go into effect until the blocked member logs out of the site." is likely incorrect - blocks probably go into effect when a blocked member logs in, a subtle difference but nevertheless. They likely cache a bunch of things when a member logs in, e.g. which other members have blocked them, and don't update that particular data in the cache until the member logs in again. They could update that data in the cache more frequently at opportune moments.
You can drop the obvious and snarky patronization, AandJinNNJ. Yes it does timeout. But that's not the point. The point is, session timeout, no matter the length, isn't how blocks work on the vast majority of social platforms in modern community website development. Considering the privacy concerns and other sensitive aspects to this particular social platform topic, and as paid members, we have every right to express concern and expect meaningful feedback from site admin about how our information and privacy are handled.
Hmmm. I thought the site enforced an inactivity timeout. One would think the blocked party has to sleep at some point which should trigger said timeout and enforce the block.
Just an update. Response from the support ticket was "Blocks don't go into effect until the blocked member logs out of the site." to which I said "That's pretty useless in a case where a member is harassing you." followed by "It's the way the site was designed." --- my memory doesn't go back far enough to recall a site design relying on session expiration in order to activate a user block or ban. Must be a ColdFusion thing.
Nearly 24hrs and the support ticket hasn't even been opened yet. I think at this point, if it wasn't already, this thread is warranted as a cautionary tale.
Yep. Yesterday, including screen captures. No response.
Curious if, other than this post, you reported this via the ticket system to support.
I would assume the ticket system is more closely monitored than the forums by the support team.
Unblocked and then blocked again and that seems to have worked. Prior to that he was blocked but could still message, and unlike when you block other people the message history with him didn't go away upon deleting. That's a pretty major glitch that has us concerned about the integrity of the database and security on this site. It's also surprising that members don't have the option to opt out of allowing people to phone call them from the PM feature (or at least didn't see that option). These all seem reasonably more critical issues to address than improving SLS Radio...
Sunny1442 has been blocked and continues to harass us via private message and attempts to call us using your call feature. We click on his profile and it says he can't contact us via PM, which is BS because he's hammering our PMs right now.
