<p>All event notifications still go through the old mailbox system. The old system is being phased out, but is not completely gone yet. You should see a green banner across the top of your page with a "Click Here" link that explains the new features. It has been there since the site added the new system.</p>

New group members need to be added to the mailing list manually by the group owner as it does not happen automatically, there's a pretty easy "add everyone" shortcut in the Tools section
JnJ, It probably works well for all of the legacy people on the list. What about NEW members?

I've seen no changes to the group/bulk mail features. They still work as before. I've bulk mailed our group numerous times since the change. They so show up in the "Archived Mail" folder and not the "Messages" one though.
So what happened to the emails from groups we subscribed to? Like invitations for parties etc. Are they going to messages? I have only gotten a couple by archived mail system and none through messages. How will groups invite us?
