Email notification delays
SLS just forwarded an email from my draft registration board reminding me I only have 3 months to register...

We got a notification in our personal email today for the FIRST TIME IN NEARLY 2 MONTHS!! Improvement? Issue addressed? Random luck? Enquiring minds want to know! :-)

We aren't getting anything in our email either.
Group/bulk emails all have to be approved by SLS before they're sent out. I've seen it take from a few hours to a day and change. We're sure to get all of our bulk/group email submitted by Thurs. afternoon so they have enough time to get approved. Nothing really gets done over the weekend so if you miss them on Friday it won't show until Monday. Kind of a pain in the ass but with some planning we've been able to make it work.
Even the ads are late for inbox. A Orgasms house party for the 18th of September was received yesterday, really?

We've been in Savannah since Friday and received multiple messages from several profiles, we have not received notifications in our personal mail box. We do get SLS advertisements (you know Swinger wives and Swinger couples emails) The adds always make it into our inbox.
Of course, the most likely explanation is that SLS is getting behind on their monthly kibble budget for the IT gerbils.
FYI: A new cert with have a message at the top banner that there is a new cert waiting your approval.

Thank you CatchyNickName! I hate to ask this but do I check this by going to "tools" and then "my certs" or is there another way? When I check "my certs" nothing is there.
Could be a new cert that's pending. Check those first.
Our bird is flying but when we go to mail, no messages appear. Is there any way we can fix this?
And it gets weirder. Received another email at 7:27pm on the site, got the notification on my outside email at 11:59pm. So earlier in the day it's within a few minutes, same day later in the evening it's just over 4 hours.
There's some really crazy inconsistencies in the notifications though. I just had another forummer email me at 2:46pm CST today, and I received the email notification on my outside email at 2:57pm CST. But emails from a few days ago were more like a couple of hours between.
It's like Dr. Venkman's comment on hairless pets. Weird.
And by the way, does "forummer" sound dirty to you? Or is it just me?
There was a time when the notifications were immediate. I was on the site a year or so ago and got an email alert BEFORE the email showed up in my SLS inbox.
Now it is at least 24 hours delayed.
As usual, the excuse is they are “upgrading” something or another and every time they try to make an improvement in one area, it messes up something else.
It’s become laughable how bad the tech team is on this site.

I am posting today because I just received email notification (9/14/18) about SLS message left for us on 9/10. I know when we first signed up for SLS late last year the email notifications came a little quicker, maybe within the hour of receipt. I think these long delays started within the last couple of months. The trick is to check for messages every day? But then this defeats the purpose of having email notifications. I hope whatever ails the system is fixed soon, this is a nice feature to have available.
Possibly the worst part of the user experience is that free members don't know the extent of the problems until they decide to pay for a membership. Then they find out that the "features" all are rudimentary at best, and completely inoperative at worst. (Oh, well ... they got your money. Nothing you can do about it now. Paid for a lifetime membership to save money? Sorry!)
Ekserb2...Same for us...Nothing for over a month. We too tried fiddling with the settings, turning off and then on again etc. We've missed opportunities as a result. Lets cross our fingers and hope it improves.
You get notifications? I get none. I've tried all the notification options and still get nothing. I used to get timely emails until several months ago, but then they started arriving hours after the messages and stopped shortly thereafter. I've complained only to get a canned response: "We are aware of the issue and we are working on it." For months?!? WTF?
