[LOCKED]Covid-19 Vaccination Validation

mayhem8Veteran

Vget - I don't think you can/will see that in the US. They can't even consider making the vaccine mandatory (as far as I know) with a vaccine that only has Emergency Usage status. Pfizer has applied for full approval. Once that happens, I think that perhaps employers may be able to require it.

One place where you "might" see this is nursing homes, but with the elderly having been vaccinated, they are at a lot less risk and nursing homes historically have trouble getting and keeping good staff, so there's that. An employer can try to require it, but the employee always has the option of finding work elsewhere.

“ Sad to see so much disrespect, fear, and anger... in a swingers forum, and in today's world. One of the things we loved about Hedo when we visited was the wide variety of people, and nearly without exception, everybody was nice, kind and respectful.”

Don’t let a few bad apples ruin the bunch. This was a decent thread for a week, then the same common players that ruin every other thread showed up. I have them all blocked and can’t see their comments, however, I can still see who posted. Everywhere you go there will be some kind of nasty scum factor that must be avoided, that factor here is those common posters. Keep that bright outlook, not everybody here walks around with a storm cloud over their head.

Sad to see so much disrespect, fear, and anger... in a swingers forum, and in today's world. One of the things we loved about Hedo when we visited was the wide variety of people, and nearly without exception, everybody was nice, kind and respectful. It was a model of a working society I wish we had in our own community back home..

We all make choices based on good reasons, based on what we know and we've experienced. I haven't lived another's life, so I'm careful when criticizing their beliefs... unless their beliefs include disrespecting my liberty.
With so many things in life, you roll the dice, you play the odds, time and circumstance picks the winners.

Hoping for a mandatory vaccination requirement. People who don’t want vaccinated can quarantine.

This anti-science and anti-fact bullshit is being pushed by pseudo “scientists” who are crazy people and fools

So does anyone else think hardkore is going to copy and paste their same whiney rant in another 7 hours?

There's really no point in trying to engage in conversation with anyone who thinks repeating something constitutes some sort of compelling counter argument. But I'm not here for that. I'm here for phrases like this: "For the record, I believe that people who think vaccines are evil, COVID is a hoax and/or refuse to take common-sense steps to reduce transmission like social distancing and wearing masks aren't just bad, they're fucking pus-filled chancres on the anus of humanity."

I mean, I read a lot, but most of what I read doesn't have that kind of immediacy and I bow in respect. ;-)

I don't know if it's worth the effort to reason with some. They don't read before they respond, just a knee-jerk reaction that doesn't begin to address the salient points in the thread. It's almost like Kevin Pollack's take on talking to Christopher Walken: He's not having the same conversation you are.

SIde note for Pollack fans: Marsupials are FAST!

Why does anyone care?

If you don't want to participate, you won't be forced to.

If you don't, or other people do or don't, that is another piece of information to use to decide if you want to fuck them, or they to fuck you.

What is the downside here?

If you'll read back through this thread nobody was proposing forcing anything on anyone.

If your call is to institute a vaccine validation, then what are your requirements for a person to achieve validation? Is it just add a frame to their profile picture? If so, and you believe this will work let me offer you some property I own with a gorgeous view of the ocean. It's in South Dakota, but it's dirt cheap right now.
If your requirement for validation is forcing people to provide private health records to a dating and hook up website that can hardly keep its own site running day to day, then I would like to introduce you to the internet newest ghost town....
I've noticed in my short time in this lifestyle, that regardless of where people stand politically, those in this lifestyle are geared way more towards freedom, and privacy, and threatening both those by forcing a validation system that invades one's personal health and life would most likely end very badly for this site.

There are lots of ways to discern if someone is being truthful about most things.

Just pay attention to the cues.

14 days.

The lifestyle depends on integrity in self-reporting. If you have herpes, you should tell people. If you have HIV, you should tell people. If you're secretly cheating on your spouse, you should tell people (though it wouldn't be a secret then, would it?). Giving people honest information to enable them to make informed decisions is just one of those things that good people do.

Bad people lie. They hide their herpes, their HIV status, their wives/husbands...if it stands in their way of getting what they want, they lie about it. That's happened throughout the history of mankind and will undoubtedly continue until the last spark of life fades from the universe. Shitty people are, if nothing else, perpetual.

Just because someone COULD lie about it (and likely will) doesn't mean it no longer has value. Good people who have been vaccinated should be able to easily share that status with potential partners. Good people who believe their play partners should be vaccinated should have an easy way to find them. This is a simple solution that a ridiculous amount of apps and websites both vanilla and LS have available. It should be available here too.

P.S. For the record, I believe that people who think vaccines are evil, COVID is a hoax and/or refuse to take common-sense steps to reduce transmission like social distancing and wearing masks aren't just bad, they're fucking pus-filled chancres on the anus of humanity.

Hardkore - It was just a suggestion from the OP based on seeing something similar on at least one other swinger site. It would obviously have to be voluntary only and on the honor system, and maybe even self-service (i.e click here to blah, blah, blah).

As with any other member suggested site improvements, the chance of them actually happening here on SLS is slim to none, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over this ;-)

Science never said the earth was flat or one should bleed people out to cure disease.

Science as a discipline was not codified until the mid 1800's, and there is still significant discussion about what it is...

Science is as science does (in his best Forest Gump voice).

I love science, I've won academic awards for achievement in science.

However, science exists in the framework of time. It's often incomplete, or just plain wrong.

A long time ago, science said the earth is flat, now science says it's round.
Science used to say the cure for disease was to bleed patients out, now the science has better methods.
Science used to say DDT was totally safe, and they sprayed everything including children, now we know it causes cancer.
Science used to measure people's feet and shoe fitting with radiation, now we know that's a bad idea.
Science once thought radium was a harmless miracle, now we know it's really dangerous.
Science at one time had doctors promoting cigarettes.
Science has promoted a lot of drugs, which have later been recalled due to long term disastrous results.
Science used to say that a healthy diet was low-fat and high carb, now it says low-carb and plenty of (good) fats.

Tomorrow's science will make today's science look as wrong and primitive as we see the "science" from our past.

Science is just our best idea at this time, knowing what we know... and we don't know everything.

Use "science" as one of your guides, but always remain skeptical.
Science is just a method, and it shouldn't be a religion.

Wayne: “ Science is people's opinions.”

And this is why conspiracy theories proliferate. When simple minded people give equal credence to a scientist using double blind peer reviewed studies and a guy making a YouTube video in his mom’s basement, you end up with inane comments like “ Science is people's opinions.”

I think I’m going to keep count of the days that pass before this excellent idea that many of SLS’s competitors are already adopting is implemented here. Since we can’t do polls, does anyone else have a guess on when it will be implemented?

I’ll go first : Never.
