[LOCKED]Covid-19 Vaccination Validation

mayhem8Veteran

Wayne, you're correct. It started that way and morphed into how does one actually validate that someone has been vaccinated. It explains why it started in the Website threads topic. It probably doesn't belong here based on what it has morphed to, but since the Feds have decided the private sector should "fill this void", it really isn't a political discussion as much as it would be a Travel related topic.

If it moves to Politics, I'll probably just create a thread under the Travel related threads to discuss that aspect of it, because this topic is evolving and it will be of interest to anyone planning on international travel in the near future, and perhaps even domestic travel to some degree (i.e. Hawaii for example).

"Now those of you that wish to follow the science of whoever you choose"

LOL

People don't have their own science...

Actually, the purpose of this thread was a suggestion for a “I’ve been vaccinated” icon that a person could voluntarily turn on or off on their profile. We are taking it into consideration.

"And you can ask potential “friends” any questions you so choose but is it really necessary to impose some sort of covid vaccination requirement on the site?"

This really isn't about that. Say that you want to fly to Hawaii, and they as a state require some sort of proof that you've been vaccinated. How does that work? There is already a black market for fake vaccination cards.

There are whole countries that are considering "vaccination passports". We ourselves are looking at some international travel next year and will be in at least 5 different countries, so this can effect us and matters to us how this all plays out, as it may for others that want to travel.

Rookies - This topic has to do specifically with how one validates (to others) they've been vaccinated. A "vaccine passport" has been bandied about and this is more or less what this thread is about.

FWIW - Yes, I agree we have a lot of different Covid threads and some definitely overlap, While there's no guarantee any thread will stay on topic, it is different than the other Covid threads.

At one point there was a more generic Covid thread, but it got out of hand and SLS locked it. Since then, a number of subtopics have popped up instead.

"I don’t see this topic really helping anyone"

If you're not comfortable with the discussion it doesn't mean others feel the same.

Weird, I wonder the same thing when I see FB, Twitter, you tube deleting posts that don’t agree with their narrative. I’m not trying to impose restrictions but I don’t see this topic really helping anyone. We can all make our own choices and include whatever you want in your profile regarding covid. And you can ask potential “friends” any questions you so choose but is it really necessary to impose some sort of covid vaccination requirement on the site? Ok, I’m done

San Luis Obispo, CA, Us

I don't understand people who want to impose restrictions on a discussion in a public forum.

And M & C my comments were not directed at you. I have pretty much figured out my opinions of a few others on here. We’re good!

Mayhem,

That was absolutely not directed at you.

Murrells Inlet, SC, Us

The comment was posted because I see no need to beat the topic to death. I’m not against vaccinations, I’ve had both Pfizer’s, and I had the virus. But if those of you that are so concerned about this virus that has a what, 98% recovery rate, then why not practice abstinence, pretty sure that’s been proven to be 100% safe. Now those of you that wish to follow the science of whoever you choose, by all means follow it, but I’m not about to live my life like some want have to. If some have their way we’ll be in masks for the rest of our lives. Seems even on a LS site you can’t even have a differing opinion anymore without being labeled as an extremist. Now say some more negative things about me

MandC - Hopefully I didn't come across as hateful. I really just wanted to know why Rookies posted what they did. I didn't see that as hateful/negative either. Just a bit unrealistic as in, "Please don't discuss a topic that annoys me."

I do totally get what you're saying though. Differing opinions use to be more of a, "I guess we'll just agree to disagree" kind of thing. Now it's more like, "Shut the fuck up or I'll blow your face off with a bazooka you stupid piece of shit fucking asshole!" Well, maybe not that bad, but I get your drift ;-)

We're old enough to remember a time where there was respect for differing opinions without the negativity and hate of people being told what to think.

OK, I'll ask - Rookies - "Can we cease and desist on posting comments on this subject, please...enough is enough"

What is the problem with discussing this? It's very unlikely we'll see this in the US, bit for those of us that travel, we could run into it elsewhere.

You also have the option of simply ignoring a topic. I pretty much ignore all of the politics threads rather than complain about them. You are of course welcome to complain, not that it will do any good ;-)

Rookie...Can we cease and desist on posting comments on this subject, please...enough is enough...

This is an important topic for all of us...it must go on until we all follow the science and get our lives back

Didn't want to read though all the replies...

But...

This "request" to a website that does not even require people to update their ages or pics on a yearly (or even Decade) basis...

Funny... Keep asking!

And the way Wayne talks you'd think they've implemented many suggestions from users. Whomever should I believe???

"It's a perfect time to test out whether SLS will ever implement a change suggested by the user base."

Haven't seen it so far...

The best part of threads like this is I get to add a new collection of dumbasses to the "block" list.

I think this is a FABULOUS idea. It's a perfect time to test out whether SLS will ever implement a change suggested by the user base. Now everyone hold your collective breath...

In the meantime we'll watermark our own pictures (assuming we ever feel safe uploading pictures here again after the Great Crappening)

To quote a willing rookie, With all due respect that’s my choice, thanks for your concern.

Nobody is forcing you to read this thread.

It won't be easy to falsify the covid vaccine...records of your shots are kept securely, otherwise they don't get paid...

Hop, that would be even more funny if it didn’t have a hint of truth to it. I can see VAbitchcouple’s profile pic in my mind. Matching masks, needles in their left arms and Vac card in the right hand. Mayhem probably has a copy of the Vac card tattooed on their foreheads.
