Chime for SLS IM's is Muted

chime missing here also.... and new mail notifications.......

don't hold your breath waiting for it to be fixed....

Add me to the list the liked the (now missing) chime, but understand why you would want to be able turn it on and off. A lot of times I'd just leave myself logged in while watching TV and it was nice to get the "door bell" notification to alert you that someone is trying to chat.

While your at it, Tech Support...please bring back the personal email notifications of SLS mail. It would surely cut down on the amount of time we have to log in constantly check for new SLS mail.

looks like I was right Wayne says he doesn't know how long it might take to "fix" the IM its a big part of the site and I miss it !! any one else ? let them know that ? parec 60

its nice that SLS is trying to fix the IM now all we have to worry about is how long it will take a week ( already gone by ) a month coming up on that , six months ? a year ? or more ? I'm figuring its going to be at least 6 mos and then it won't work so they will have to try again . just going by past experience on SLS

Two points.

First, it would be nice if SLS would actually announce what was being worked on beforehand in a separate forum post or front page message. Instead, we get features that randomly go schizo or turn off completely, and after several days (sometimes, weeks) of members asking questions on the fora, someone from management belatedly puts up a forum message in a random thread and depends on word of mouth for the info to spread.

Second, there's no reason why tech support can't work on modules separately from the live site. Rebuild/upgrade the module, test it offline, and then plug it in.

I believe the muted chime is kindly a relief. It's bad enough that SM flood the screen at times and the overlay window covers what ever function of the website we are using at that moment, yet there also has to be an annoying door bell notification to get every local person to you attention drawn to you as well. If this is not intentional from admin, as previously posted, the ability to optionally turn the sound off is a definite welcome.

Instead of the intrusive overlay window, how about a flashing tab with the option to preview who is IMing?

The chine is nice until you check them at work. I would rather not no have the chime, unless it was an option to have on.

My IMs are in an almost constant state of loading recently. I think by the time it finally loads it just shows the message without the chime because it's been there a while.

Same here . I missed messages since it quit yesterday !!! can you fix it Please ?

Lol...I'm trying to find a way to turn it off on my phone.

We continue to miss IM's now that the doorbell chime is gone. I restarted our PC, looked for a setting and asked another user, but the chime is gone. Any ideas why? Not that I was a fan of the obnoxious doorbell, but some audible notification would be useful.

Now watch...it will start working as soon as I submit this question ;)
