The old message system was better... this new IM system should have been kept an option for members to chat privately and more direct.. not changed to the only way communication.. many members did not like being sent IM directly... they preferred the message first.. and then moved to IM... now communication between members seems to be much harder... please bring back the old messaging system... worked so much better...

This New mail and Message system is horrid before you could at least send a mail and the party you were sending it knew but this message thing 90% of the time you never see the message until you log on the next day Also how do you write to a "free member" to at least Say Join People Write SLS and complain who knows someone might hear you
Lucky for all of us there are many other sites that seem much more user friendly. SLS has had problems and now the mail feature is gone. No reason for this when we all pay to be on SLS. We have talked with friends at LS events who are all tired of the SLS changes and have slowed migrated elsewhere and been very happy.
I don't like the limitations of the text message format. It's a flawed way to correspond with your friends and new aquaintenences. The whole setup needs an overhaul.
This IM setup is a nightmare! Bring back Mail and the BIRD!
Actually, they have made some statements here on the fora, but it would take a lot of effort to find them. So it's not surprising that folks have missed them. Which is just as well, because those statements are less than charitable. Basically it can be distilled down to:
"Suck it up, buttercup"
and
"Text is text, when it comes to any kind of messages. So if you can't make sense of IMs that have been chopped up into 255 character chunks, then you must be stupid."
The disdainful attitude from management is probably worse than the software clustergrope itself, if my own reaction is any indication.
It is shocking that the SLS powers have not even made a statement regarding the changes. You would think they would want to address this if even just for damage control, let alone to say why they decided to screw this (and us) up!

Missing the BIRD. New IM is a mess, bring back the mail or provide both. The decision to do away with mail, is an epic failure. Someone at the this site, listen to your membership and return the mail.
Logging in and seeing the bird fly was what we always looked forward to,kinda like Christmas morn for horny people .I know sls doesn't care but think we will look for other places to spend our money ...smdh

The BIRD was one of the most unique and innovative ideas implemented by SLS. We all love the BIRD because getting the BIRD had become synonomous with "getting lucky". The BIRD worked harder (obviously) than the pussy starved techno-geeks we depended on to expand our social network and communication tools. After more than 10 years of faithfully flapping its wings and delivering salacious content to fulfill our sexual desires, the BIRD was wrongfully relieved of his duties- FIRED to downsize and streamline a company which already has just a handful of Millennials at the helm. The didn't even the give the BIRD a chance to say FUCK IT, I QUIT! I am filing an EOE claim with the Department of Labor and appealing to PETA on behalf of the BIRD. This Shit Ain't Right!
