Message Enhancements

Need a signal to see if I was the last response in a Message thread. Some sites put (You) in front of the message preview in the list, or put a rounded Reply arrow icon to indicate I was the last response in the Message thread.

I'd like to have a visual indicator to show all messages I have not replied to. Maybe that is to keep the status Unread until I reply, or have an additional indicator.

In the current beta, I can only scroll down to see a few messages. Older messages are not loading and I don't see any way to view more messages.

Yes, a basic push notification that a message is there like Kik, FB Messenger, etc. It’d make keeping up with a convo very helpful. Thanks for the response as well

<p>The term push notifications can mean several different things. It generally is a push to a mobile device.</p>

<p>We have an item on our list to send message notifications about various events on the site.</p>

<p>If you are asking about email notifications that is also on our list.</p>

The number one biggest thing missing from SLS is push notifications. If I could request one improvement as a priority, this would be it above all else.

It would be great if you could determine if someone even opened your message. As another poster said, If I know they are not opening my messages, I know to stop sending.

<p>We are adding the ability to send inline images within messages directly to another member without requiring staff review and approval.</p>

<p>This process will use AI to validate that the image is not illegal etc. Those images will automatically expire after a yet to be determined time frame.</p>

<p>We actually had a discussion about this earlier today. We will be making some updates to the deletion process of messages.</p>

<p>Right now, you can delete the whole thread. I assume you mean you want to be able to just delete individual messages? </p>

3) Also, allow users to delete photos they have sent in message boxes. Sometimes, I don't want the receiver to keep my pic in the message history forever!

Like SDC does:

1) Insert three dots next to each message, allowing one to edit, delete, or reply to prior posted messages. All three are really helpful. I would love to delete old messages from months ago that I sent someone, giving me a fresh start to engage. As would I equally love to edit a message after I post it. And it would be nice to select a message box and reply just to that box and not everything else.

2) Create a check box that shows the writer if their message was read or even opened. If someone isn't opening my messages, it gives me a big clue to stop messaging them in the future.

These features would make messaging a lot more effective and efficient. I love them on other spicy or traditional message centers and use them all the time. Please incorporate them, as they have become pretty mainstream features everywhere in social media. Thx!
