But on the other hand perhaps under the category of additional "vetting" we should allow the Republican National Committee to commission a dossier of murky details, with nefarious sources and feed that into the National Security apparatus and then only leak the details to certain sympathetic new sources. It's just vetting, correct?

Fun..... He got vetted more than any president in history? He never held a political office. They were playing catch up with him. Politicians get vetted all the time. Some of it is public, like in the case of Senate confirmation hearings, other cases are more secret to guard sources and methods.

As for some of the testimony being one way under oath and different in the news, I think that is a reasonable point of contention. But I'd say that was more political grandstanding than anything nefarious.

Then just to clarify you have no problem with President Trump (the opposition party) using the National Security apparatus to make sure there are no secrets lurking in Candidate Biden's history? It's just vetting, correct?

Phx...... We already do extensive vetting of our politicians. They generally get vetted many times during their political careers. Look how many times Kavanaugh got vetted before his appointment to the supreme court. It was like 5 or 6 times. Trump never held a political office. Of course we would do extensive investigation on someone who has never been vetted for political office before. As for the secrecy, we routinely hide the sources and methods of how we investigate people.

Joe , I understand exactly what you are saying . But to go behind his back not do the vetting publically is wrong . For these people under oath to say No collusion , then immediately run to CNN , ABC, , NBC basically all news media and tell another story is wrong . I will say this again there is an illness in this country it is beyond hate for some people it is madness. Sure. As long as we as a country are OK with an opposing political party using the National Security apparatus to vet some but not all candidates. If true then we as a country should be fine with the current President using the National Security apparatus to "vet" Joe Biden, his Vice-President candidate and all potential administration or cabinet members. Of course there would be very limited disclosure to the one being vetted, the press and the public about the tactics said National Security apparatus uses to vet. Sure, what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Nobody asked for this information to be released during a bad virus. . All of this information could have been released immediately after the interviews under oath. But these people drug it on and on. When Sally Yates under oath can say what I was hearing I could not believe. This is not about politics , this is about a soft coup attempt. My goodness. All this talk of “treason” is seriously disturbing. In the military, we were taught that treason was one of the, if not thee most agregeous offences a person could commit. This is why it is still punishable by death. Yet many in here, many in the media and in Congress and even the president, toss this word out with such ease and disregard for its seriousness. I find this disgusting. Especially coming from the highest office in the land when he refers to "fake media" or our elected representatives as treasonous. It is very divisive.

If there really is RUSSIAN COLLUSION by Trump that is very good. In my 10th grade World History class in 1959-1960 the first year teaching 23 year old told us something. He was so smart, used the words "VIET NAM", can you imagine in 1959? He told us the day will come when the three super powers will pair off two against one. U S A, RUSSIA or CHINA. remember this is 1959. It is smart to pair off with RUSSIA and U S A against CHINA.
