"Vance is a weird, awkward little guy whose chief political asset is the ability to impress Eric Trump and Don Jr. So, yeah, probably more of the same."

They're already calling him Trump's Mini-Me.

In his senatorial race, Vance far underperformed Mike DeWine, who ended 19 points higher in his gubernatorial reelection race. And recent polling shows him with a negative favorability rating.

Vance will excite his dedicated supporters, but I can't see how he'll win Trump any new ones.

Vance is a weird, awkward little guy whose chief political asset is the ability to impress Eric Trump and Don Jr. So, yeah, probably more of the same.

A study looking at the differences between blind and open symphony auditions found that 50% more women were passed through the preliminaries when the audition was blind.

Blind submissions for literature are a little muddier, because subject matter is even more of an identifier than biographical information. But for those magazines that do it right (you can't just have a white guy reading the submissions), it's led to an increase in publication of stories by women and people of color, including women of color.

Not a fan of Trump's hiring practices, hope this is Vance guy isn't more of the same

TBR - Strongly agree with your company's approach

"My company recently decided to anonymize the selection process.

Applications will be scrubbed of age, gender, ethnicity, even name.

I think it is a good move to get a more representative pool of applicants."

The application should be as sterile as possible so that people get to the interview process. Far too many people never get an interview because of age, race, gender.....IMHO, many a good potential employee never got the interview because of a checked box on the application.

I often wonder why, when it's predetermined that a specific person is going to be hired, do they waste others people's time and effort bringing them in for interviews. Is it ever explained to someone that they are hired because they check the boxes? If you hire someone based on race, gender, sex preferences are you setting them up for failure? Some many concerns on DEI imo.

But in your mind only white racist are dangerous. You don't mention racists and bigots from other skin colors. How come?

Stamford, CT, Us

@jand
Hardly. I specified white, under qualified men eho need to feel superior to others based on no evidence.
WCNs and bigots are repulsive and dangerous because you’re cowards.

Windowlicker.......suffering from being infected with the hate of white men. I have the fat boy 8mm blocked because he is open racist. You 2 are a match made in hell :)

@8”
That why white under qualified men gravitate to Don-OLD. He is an under qualified candidate.

He gives these people permission, to blame and look down at others, without cause. It’s all projection of their own failure onto others.

Donald announced, without cause that his IQ is over 200. A statement based on nothing other than his self delusion. Then he calls the Vp, stupid and not very smart, also based on nothing.

When the person is Black, or basically non-white or a woman, naysayers want to call them quotas and affirmative action hires. Others have to be over-qualified just to get the job.

White guys don't ever get their creds or qualifications questioned. So many have forged degrees and lied about employment history.

Remember Jimmy The Greek and the Dodgers' GM (Campaneris?) running their mouths on live TV? Remember the knock against the Black NFL QB? Now everyone either wants the Black QB or the running QB.

Tbr was very clear. Stupid shimp made a stupid comment that he couldn't back up. When he realized how stupid he looks he tries to twist. What a sorry ass coward. No worries Shimp, we can hash it all out soon in person. I'm sure it's just a big misunderstanding. Lol

New Orleans, LA, Us

Ffs j-off, you really are dense.

I posted “Voting against someone just because of their skin color or gender is racist and misogynistic.” and you twist that into me saying that unless you vote for anyone other than a woman or poc, I’m accusing you of being a misogynist and racist?

Then you agree with tbr when he says policies matter more to him? Are you really that stupid that you don’t know that was the point I was making? That excluding a candidate, regardless of their policies because of their skin color or gender is stupid?

What an idiot.

"she is a DEI selection."

You seem to be stuck on "there might be other candidates that are better."

There always are.

There are probably thousands of people that can farm better than you can. I know there are many people that can do my job better than I can.

I work in social science. In certain things, I can run circles around my colleagues. But it is not all about technical skills.

People of other ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender expressions, etc. bring I perspective on our work that I just don't have, being a straight, white, upper middle class male.

I guess what I am trying to say is that, all other things being relatively equal, DEI is a qualification.

Windowlicker.......what made Kamala Harris a better selection than say Tulsi Gabbard back in 2020. Kamala polled worse, dropped out first, got eaten alive by Tulsi in the primary debate, plus Kamala called Joe a racist during those debates.

JandE73Veteran
Tuscaloosa, AL, Us

Windowlicker......she is a DEI selection. She was picked off gender and skin color. Joe said so himself. Same way he made his Supreme Court selection. Just forget that there were other people deserving. They were eliminated based on their gender and skin color.

JandE73Veteran
Tuscaloosa, AL, Us

Tbr......exactly. The shimp and windowlicker can't seem to understand that. I have no idea why she/he is saying Thank you 3 times like a fool.

Stamford, CT, Us

@jand.
Im not calling Tim Scott a DEI candidate. You called the Vp a dei

Stamford, CT, Us

Thank you! thank you! thank you!

I would not vote for Tim Scott, and it has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

Your vote for him has nothing to do with the color of his skin either.

You like his policies. I don't.
