My theory on the discrepancy is that conservatives don't like government, so they are not any good at it.
So they are sloppy, and nefarious characters take advantage of the situation.
Or it could be like Willie Horton. Conservatives are drawn to government service because that is where the money is. But they don't like, or don't care about the rules, so they get caught.
In any case, I think it comes down to disdain for the governing process.
Now go back and investigate as to the political leanings and make up of the investigating agencies, DOJ, FBI.

My feeling about both parties being similar has to due with the polarization and tribalism on both sides. Those on the right saying that all Democrats are evil and those on the left saying all Republicans are bad. As the Fearless Leader said... there's very fine people on both sides. Bad ones on both sides, too. But neither side seems to be working towards the middle anymore and not much gets done no matter who has the majority. Plus all of the elected politicians on both sides getting rich off of special interest money is kind of sickening.
But the point you make is well taken.

So, let’s see where that leaves us. in the last 53 years Democrats have been in office for 25 of those years while Republicans held it for 28. in their 25yrs in office Democrats had a total of three executive branch officials indicted with one conviction and one prison sentence. That's one whole executive branch official convicted of a crime in two and a half decades of Democrat leadership.
In the 28 yrs that Republicans have held office over the last 53 yrs they have had a total of (a drum roll would be more than appropriate), 120 criminal indictments of executive branch officials. 89 criminal convictions and 34 prison sentences handed down. That's more prison sentences than years in office since 1968 for Republicans. If you want to count articles of impeachment as indictments (they aren't really but we can count them as an action), both sides get one more.
Is not government such a lovely thing in America? You spend a lifetime building a business only to be destroyed by government and rules that government keeps changing on you.
Government has becomes an all powerful all corrupt enemy of the people and our freedoms. The enemy for those who to try to live the American dream of starting a business and becoming rich over time.

Obama and the Democrats took money from the Dairy lobby...lots of money. In 2015 the first lawsuit was filed against Trader's Joes in California over Soymilk.
Trader Joes won and was allowed by the courts to continue to call their Soymilk "Soymilk."
Democrats got pissed and put the date as of this year to end the use of "milk" for anything except as milk coming from a cow.
This is just one of the way Democrats fuck over business and are for sale to the highest bidder.

It has been going on for a couple of years now. It started in Wisconsin. I forgot the woman senator's name, but it is all about truth in labeling. The FDA had on it's books already the definition of milk being a lactation. So the senator was pushing for them to enforce it.

First the expense of new packaging and second what do they call it. Their market is established as almond milk. When John Kerry forced the makers of Apricot ketchup and Banana ketchup to change their packaging and name the word they used was sauce. Did not work. The consumer thought that Apricot sauce was a desert sauce for ice cream.
That is what kills the companies that make things and have to change the name of what they make. What would you call Almond milk that is not going to make someone think of a coffee additive?
