LOL

My ex would pick the bones out of smelt. The fried, breaded skin is crunchier than the teeny-tiny, itty-bitty bones in smelt.

She also refused to eat canned salmon when she realized there were bones and skin in it. She used to eat salmon parries or salmon salad I made with canned salmon until one day she watched me make it and saw the canned salmon had bones and skin. But that's not why she's an ex...

She didn't like to suck cock and definitely didn't like cum in her mouth either.

Yeah, I like smelt myself but would take pollack any time over smelt. No bones, for one.

"Seems they've been struggling to find enough smelt and supplemented it with pollock."

Bargaining for smelt by substituting pollock. What a deal.

He who smelt it dealt it

Last night was the annual "World's Largest Smelt Fry" (60th year I think) the Brooklyn Park Lions Club has every year. I've been going for 30+ years with my brother, dad, his wife, his 2 sisters and my uncles. My dad's last sister died last year so I'm the only one left.

The sides have evolved a bit over the years. It used to be coleslaw, baked beans, potato chips a roll w/butter. Now it's coleslaw, rice, mac and cheese and a roll w/butter.

Might be the last World's Largest Smelt Fry. Seems they've been struggling to find enough smelt and supplemented it with pollock. They normally go through 1,500 pounds of smelt but sounds like they could only get about 1,200 pounds last year and 1,000 pounds this year.

Authentic Brazilian BBQ is actually hairless clam.

What a downer! Don't you dare ruin Brazilian BBQ for me or I might be upset.. lol

And I don't need a name correction. I know what it is.

Dinner before bowling turned out to be two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on gluten free bread. After bowling, I unwound by washing dishes and then made a fried egg over-medium and put ketchup, then shredded cheddar cheese on the egg and put that on gluten free bread.

I'm all out of gluten free bread; I need to buy more.

Fun Fact re: "Mongolian" anything.

What we call Mongolian (usually beef) is not Mongolian at all. You might guess this is an American invention. Usually, you'd be right. But not this time.

"Mongolian" BBQ/beef/etc is a Taiwanese invention drawing no inspiration at all from Mongolian cuisine. Wu Zhaonan, a street vendor who fled from Beijing to Taiwan, invented it in the 1950s inspired by Chinese food. He originally wanted to call it Peking, but given Taiwan's lousy relationship with mainland China, instead just chose the name Mongolian because it just sounded cool and because most people in Taiwan knew zilch about actual Mongolian cuisine anyway and thus nobody would call him out on it.

I was all set to reheat leftovers & make a salad when Phoebert decided he wanted Chinese takeout!

He's having Mongolian chicken and I'm having beef with broccoli - both with fried rice and egg roll. And there's a quart of the House Special soup. Pretty sure we'll have some leftovers!

And we have strawberries for dessert - probably with vanilla Greek yogurt. ;-)

Sorry WS7. I was tired and not thinking correctly. I been having some work done on my house (new roof and siding) and it's taking a toll on me. I only have about another week to go and the hammering will stop. LOL

Of course. The Momoinlaw tried some too and decided it was too Momofuking spicy so she had the pad thai without the extra chili crunch.
