hello, shoreplayer. I think everyone here can hear you. Maybe you know what “OA” means, too(?).

Hello...

AA means African American.... Hello

I was most definitely joking lol. I love how you can't tell who in here is being serious and who isn't. I wonder if the OP ever figured things out :)

DNLB,

I’m almost 60yrs old, which means I’m grumpy, and I rarely laugh except in a tiny sound proof corner of my brain.
Your last post had me laugh out loud... scared my wife.

TTV,
Looks like you caught one. :)

@DNLB

I agree and if we are thinking of the same "frequent poster", I believe they may be the same person.

I think the sarcasm font works just fine, and that the SLO guy was aptly named. There's only one other fora constant responder that seems to be wrong every time they touch their keyboard....

Dear TheTravelVeteran,

For some reason, the sarcasm font does not work here. That means you have to rely on someone else's sense of humor for the sarcasm to get through.

As you can see, that's not a reliable method.

Re: TTV, the sarcasm gene is strong with this one ;-)

Every red-blooded American male under 60 knows that the WWF and WWE are the same entity. The name was changed to protect those guilty of making billions (The McMahons), while providing questionable entertainment, or something like that.

Yep...Up until the WWF comment, he had me, hook, line, and stinker. I swears.

Hello TheTravelVeteran.....
Just to ask, it sounds like you may believe we "repliers" to this original topic post are teasing a black couple, or are being generally insensitive to black people. If I'm wrong, then okay. To affirm my view, though, I don't believe either thought is correct. But even IF true, I see nothing wrong with light teasing (as you've done, too) of one another, as a foil to the incessant bullshit about Race hatred that now saturates our every waking moment.

I looked at twofortwoinpa's photo, and they don't appear to be (as you maybe suggested) a black couple, and now, I'm thinking that even they may be unsure of what "AA" means in this particular "lifestyle." Your "Anglo American" definition further illustrates the confusion.

The gist of this is, the constant and increasing onslaught of the use of initials, or abbreviations or acronyms in modern American communications can be daunting, as we attempt to decipher them. In fact, I believe many people purposely use these shortcuts to intentionally confuse, simply to show how clever they (think they) are. As I see it, others have agreed here by making light of the fact that these non-word shortcuts often leave a ? hanging in the air. Anyway, I don't see an actual perverse racial tone, as such, to to any of this light dialogue.

I really am shocked with the people in this forum.. AA and everyone just jumps to the black couple huh? The nerve

AA actually stands for Anglo-Saxon American or ASA.. In the late 70s, the American Statistical Association sued for the initials, so it was then changed to AA.. Kind of like WWF sued WWF and now it's WWE

So if you see AA on a page, it has nothing to do with us. It's a sign that the couple is German

Yeah, 888 is correct....it's just kidding. Not much else to do since SLS disenfranchised and is denying critical service to many or all of us paid-up and life members.
So, back on point; It wouldn't hurt for you, to spell ou(, rather than abbreviate. That's a pet peeve of mine, but not enough to get heartburn over. :-) .
Best Wishes, and Good Cheers.....SLO

two4twoinpa: Welcome to the forums and try not to sweat the little stuff; they know your question was serious, albeit creativity stretching it's not so serious legs, these guys are just funning with you folks.

if they are NOT black, they might be in AA (alcoholics anonymous) ?

Here's a novel idea, next time you see it in a profile ask them what it means

Shelton, WA, Us

Suppose it could all be in your frame of mind. Say your missus is looking for that BBC, or maybe just a R(egular)BC, and the couple has a female for your enjoyment, than an AA couple is just about as good as it could possibly be. Unless of course, you have found one of those elusive Unicorns that most only get read about.

If they turn out to be impressively incredibly sexually talented couple, have diverse knowledge of every topic known to mankind, can cook like that chef at that restaurant down the road that you have to wear a button shirt too, and have a bar full of whiskey and tequila - then maybe they should carry an AAA couple label.

But seriously, those who have suggested that an "AA Couple" does indeed reflect that they are an African American couple, are correct.

_______
two4twoinpa,

I think you might be an "AA" couple!

Anacortes, WA, Us

Hmmm. If not African American then I have no idea. Maybe something like A+ or AAA rated? That doesn't sound like a common description unless other people see it in a local area and follow suit.

I'm pretty sure though if you see "RA" on a single male profile it stands for "Racist Asshole".

Orrtanna, PA, Usa

Thanks to all those who gave a serious reply. We've seen abviously non-AA people say they are looking for OTHER AA couples. It's confusing. To those who gave a demeaning response, FO.

Wonder what' part of Africa they're from? Seriously, calling themselves "AA" to indicate they're black is a bit "out there."

My first thought was that they are both recovering alcoholics. Hence, "AA," meaning "Alcoholics Anonymous." ("The first step to recovery is to admit you're an alcoholic.")

"Course, it could also indicate that they see themselves as being "Abslutely "Awesome!", too. :-) ... (Also a bit "out there.")
