According to their Twitter feed, there's "great news," but no official word of a sale.

Seems to us that if this site wanted it's members to keep everything here rather than go elsewhere, then the site would make sure it was everything it's members needed. You can't behave in a manner which makes it look like you don't give a crap about your members and then whine when your members try to take things somewhere else as quickly as possible.

That being said, we never believed the other messaging app was going to close. Far too popular and valuable and if recent updates are to be believed, it's not going anywhere after all.

Sorry to be put on your "do not fuck list" on that basis but, once again, whatever. At the risk of offending the other person who jumped my shit for the , actually legitimate criticism, of being off topic, I have a couple of observations:

First, you were already on my "Pretty unlikely to fuck list" because, simply stated, you were on my "unlikely to ever meet" list. Why? Spoiler alert: You live 2,000 friggin' miles away and have your profile blocked to single men.

Then there is your odd suggestion that you would go to the politics forum, which you apparently find unsettling, and seek out people to ostracize because they don't share that distaste. Again, whatever, but I think that's silly. I've never once gone to someone's forum history when considering asking them for a meet. There are few enough people on here I find a) attractive, b) interesting c) in the same area d) mutually interested/compatible and e) not a fake or flake. If they pass a-e, I'll have a drink with them and see if we have any chemistry in person, which we'll figure out in five minutes, and will have nothing whatsoever to do with how we vote.

It may shock you to hear that I'm much more circumspect in person than I am in here as I realize that (duh) politics is a boner killer. As is discussing my hassles organizing a company barbecue with a vegan, someone's less than awesome taste in clothes or any one of a thousand other topics. But this is, another spoiler alert, "an open forum" defined by Webster's as "a place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged". I'm just not going to be on pins and needles to avoid offending anyone who doesn't apparently get, or chooses to pretend to ignore how pervasive politics is to life these days and who hasn't put their big kid panties on before coming to an "open forum". And that post in question BTW slammed NBC news for their shallow coverage of KIK which I contrasted unfavorably with Fox news, a hyper partisan based business model which I don't even consider to qualify as a crappy news business. If that offends a few people who like Fox news? For the final time: whatever.

And finally to the guy who suggested I was killing his boner? Dude if you seriously have a boner while reading a thread titled "Waynes reply to Kik posts" you should probably see a urologist.

Also agree with the remark about using posts in Politics as a ‘qualifier’. Spot on.

That was a slam on TV news sources in general but whatever. I suppose that some people actually take Fox news seriously and don't see it's claim of being "fair and balanced" as a joke. Once again, whatever.

And CBS just ran a story about that now defunct messenger service. Apparently in their view it was a "haven for child molesters" and "popular with teens". Which distinguishes it from every other chat app ever exactly how I wonder.

I suppose that's why people watch fox news: They get outrageous and inflammatory stories about made up nonsense as opposed to incredibly shallow, anecdotal and unilluminating observations on actual things happening in the world such as one might find on CBS.

I was placed in timeout last week for mentioning an app that is set to shut down later this month. However, the messages to alert me to this could not specify the why, just that I needed to correct my wrong.

And yes to all, the messenger on here is horrible. It is not email, and it is not a messnger......it is just a useless in-between.

As you may have noticed as you peruse the multiple threads on this topic, even as 95% of users complain about the switch from email to a virtually useless IM system, the admins insist we are wrong and that the new system is fine just as it is.
