Just like when they implemented the 'unsatisfactory and wildly unpopular IM system'; forums and comments related to disbelief, anger, bafflement, etc. were 'locked'.

The reason for 'shutting it down' is nothing more than, by locking, the thread gradually gets buried and then forgotten about.

#1 reason for us: As parents, we're never going to put an app on our phone that's 'swinger specific'. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't have young children. One unlocked phone and we're outed to the only people we truly give a shit about keeping the LS hidden from: our kids.

The advantages of any other app over the SLS app are so overwhelming, it's clear they've not bothered to do one iota of research on their competitors.

Va- my guess is that as long as you stay in site, they have your eyeballs for ad clicks and views.

I’m curious as to what percentage of their revenue is as based vs memberships.

@Wayne
Advantages of using an outside messenger -
Each person can have there own account, this allows others in a particular chat to know who is saying what.
Being able to quickly and easily share pics without having to upload to SLS, wait for it to be approved and then assigning to a gallery.
Gifs and emojis.

I wonder why it's never occurred to SLS that we prefer to use alternative means of communication precisely because of the limitations and deficiencies of SLS.

But by all means, SLS, go ahead and just keep clamping down harder on everyone. I'm sure we all appreciate your insistence that we never be allowed to ride bicycles without training wheels or stay up past 10 pm.

Continuously and deliberately frustrating the experience of your clientele has to be the stupidest business decision I've ever heard of. Other sites continue to become easier to use while SLS continues to become more difficult. The fora are the only reason we come here anymore. Everything else is a huge pain in the ass.

Sorry, Wayne, but as an argument, that's poorly thought out and unconvincing.

I was in no danger, but I've been threatened by an SLS member. I can't imagine why you think you could control that, regardless of the medium used. And SLS's messaging system doesn't allow multiple users nor does it give audio alerts. In contrast, one of the groups I'm in has had about 75 short posts so far today by a dozen people and I had to turn sound off for a while.

The IM here is very like what I used in the late 90s. Except on my phone, it's not terrible, but it's inflexible and doesn't adequately address my needs as well as other options, including text messages.

Wayne replied in another thread then locked it. Here is his reply.

"A good alternative for private messaging is using this site. That is the whole purpose of this site being created. It is specifically for swingers. It makes no sense to create a profile on this site and then use it to direct people to another site. Your putting yourself at riskbecause we cannot see and control what happens on that other site and if someone does something bad against you, we cannot see it and take action against them."

The problem is, whenever anyone has complained about threats or intimidation or other issues in an email or im, you and the other admins have taken a hands off approach. You never took action against anyone before so why would we believe you would now?

And who cares how we communicate after meeting on this site? Are you going to start banning any conversations that refer to text messaging too?

Not.to mention that your messaging system still sucks.
