I used to like Kettle One but it’s not as good.
I am a single malt scotch whisky or Irish whiskey guy.
Blended, bourbon, or rye whiskey is too sweet for me.
If it is a scotch, the smokier the better.
Based on some of the prices bantered around, I'm glad I'm not a fan of bourbon, or whiskey of any kind. My go-to alcohol (spiced rum) is $10/handle here in NH. I'll mix that with diet cola or root beer.
About the only way I tolerate whiskey is mixing something like Log Cabin (in small amounts) with hot mulled cider, where I basically can't taste the whiskey.
This was an annual camping trip. The organizers brought a bunch of bottles to share and we all chipped in a few bucks.
They had some nice bottles in the past but this was the first time they brought something like this, and they only shared it with a few of us.
We also had some Dragon's Milk Origin which was pretty good but couldn't compare to the Blanton's.

We attended an excellent bourbon tasting a few weeks ago. The best and smoothest was one I hadn't heard of before, and can't recall now. But I do recall it's $600/bottle.
I'm envious. The only time I drank Blanton's Single Barrel (not the Straight From The Barrel variety) was at the end of a successful hunt in Wyoming. Someone in another hunting party had a bottle and offered to share it. I was intrigued by the cap and I'm willing to try a bourbon- especially one that's free.
An exceptionally nice bourbon, but I know it wasn't 131 proof. Sadly we (4 bourbon drinkers) didn't finish the bottle or I would have asked if I could keep the cap. :-)
For the bourbon aficionados out there, rabbit & I enjoyed a bourbon tasting that was capped off with a Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel single barrel that was originally shipped to Japan.
The bottle is notable for its horse and rider cap and hand written labels, one side in Japanese, the other in English which lists the proof (131) and alcohol volume % (65.5) along with when the barrel was dumped and what barrel and warehouse it came from.
For me, this was the smoothest, richest flavored bourbon I’ve ever had. It might have to go on my Christmas wish list!
