No permanent pets since our Gracie dog passed. But we've been temporary fosters to several dogs since the beginning of the pandemic. Incredibly rewarding seeing them all find forever homes and knowing we had a small part in making that happen.
Pets?
We had 3 rescue dogs over the years. 2 Chihuahuas & a Dachshund. After they crossed the rainbow bridge, we fostered 2 kittens. They're ours now. Foster fail. Lol!
One 10 yo Siberian Husky that we rescued from a local junkyard and four cats; three from rabbit's rescue days post Katrina and one that I rescued in the dead of winter in Ohio the year before I moved to NOLA.

One smallish (18lb) dog. A Pomeranian/Westhighland Terrier mix who doesnt like it when we have sex, she goes under the bed. If she is laying on the bed and we dont want her there, all we have to do is let out a moan and I can smack my own ass and she jumps down and hides.
We had a cat for a long time who died at about 19 a few years ago. We then decided we were ready to not have pets.
We have been "temporarily" watching our daughter's cat for 6 years.
CATS, CATS AND MORE CATS......but only one at a time....my cats through the years have lived to 18 years old average.......
Plus, we feed a stray colony of 5 in the back yard.........Cats are the freedom pets...you can leave for 4 days leaving enough food water and litter,,, and alls well when you get back........can't do that with a DOG.....and contrary to non-cat-believers, they are very affectionate and trainable......
I would never own a dog,,, i'm not picking up ANY warm shit in a plastic bag--EVER.
1 fawn and white boxer, 1 supposed to be a Australian terrier. The terrier thinks he runs the place. The boxer is just a big lovable goofball.
One Chihuahua and one that is some Chihuahua but mostly mutt. The second has no sense of personal space and the first is almost always cold, so they spend most of their time sleeping in some sort of Mobius strip configuration.
2 cats inside, 2 conures- all rescued pets, and 2 feral cats outside that i got fixed and feed (was 3 but 1 hasn't been around for a while)
One Lab / Basset / ? mix, and one rescue dog ? mix, ( I think he's part spaniel, because whenever we go for a walk, his nose is glued to the ground, and he has that sway), that are here part time. Which is whenever my Daughter comes to visit, or goes on a trip and I take care of them for her.
190lb Saint Dane (Saint Bernard/Dane hybrid) really just looks like a thicker Dane. And wife is slowly talking me into either a mini donkey or a cow after the chickens get here. Just waiting on the coop.
2 boxers , Smokey & Bandit . Smokey is a 4 month old sealed point brindle, Bandit is a 5 year old fawn
2 pomeranians. Both female from the same liter. They have never spent a day apart in thier lives.
Just curious who all has pets and what do you have?
I have two rescue cats. One is 1/2 bengal and the other is 1/2 savannah.
