Bridge,

Do you know the names of the towns or regions your grandparents are from?

Games peopleplay? You take it or you leave it. Things that they say just don't make it right.

I missed seeing peopleplay post in games.

But I don't care, it's all psychobabble rap to me.

FF: Alan Parsons was the engineer on Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" album.

Good one, Good.

You seem to be on a roll (Kaiser or Parker House, dunno which)... Can you maybe take a look back in this thread and maybe answer my Alan Parsons Project question? ...I need an apolitical opinion.

I read somewhere the Constantinople cost Tim bucks too.

If that ain't a true story, it oughta be.

New Orleans, LA, Us

Good,

The Constantinople was the ship that brought my grandparents and dad to America in the 1930’s.

The came from bumfuck Italy...

True story.

FF: Most Forum posters read a little bit. Little words like If and it. But I can read big words too, like Constantinople and Timbuktu.

JW how many other people first learned of Constantinople and Timbuktu when they would hop on pop's lap and have him read something by Dr. Seuss.

I also learned about "Bumfuck Egypt" on Pop's lap. Mom wasn't too happy about that.

JW if the recent threads about cars and jobs are in the hopes of avoiding politics since even Games haven't been immune lately.

Lumberton, NJ, Us

HMMMM???

We've now had ... What's your first job? Then next came ... What's your first car?

What's next? ... What high school did you attend? and What's your first pet? or What's your mother's maiden name?

We will have everybody's security question answers at this rate.

Don't mind me I'm just being cynical, but really does everyone remember what the name of the street you grew up on was?

Mine was Timbuktu Drive, in Bumfuck, Egypt

So because there were no hurdles for YOU to place your vote, there are no hurdles for anyone.

Kind of like your fellow cult member saying that because he doesn’t know anyone who has died from Covid, it must not exist.

Keep flailing, you may eventually make a valid point.

"Sort of like your view of Alabama, huh?"

Not sure where you came up with that. Alabama had legal slavery much more recently than Egypt.

New Orleans, LA, Us

JW if I’m the only one who looks at the Games thread, sees that the last poster was peopleplay, and can’t help but think about The Alan Parsons Project?

I filled out my absentee ballot tonight, got the two witnesses signatures and sealed it into the prescribed plain brown envelope, ready to be mailed or more likely dropped off at my county courthouse as directed by the voting chairman.

Absolutely no suppression whatsoever for the 2020 election from my perspective. So simple that anyone could do it. Probably even you.

“All of this began when someone posted that there has never been a proven case of voter fraud.”

No one ever said that.

The current disagreement is you are denying that there is voter suppression when it is easily proven and it is, in fact, widespread.

Scamp: All of this began when someone posted that there has never been a proven case of voter fraud. I feel that I proved my point precisely, gave numerous examples of proven voter fraud with named convictions, from all over the country, including states that have very weak laws to states that have strict photo ID requirements, local elections to Federal. You wanted to debate the semantics of the argument and I bowed out when the childish name-calling began. Massive. Widespread. Whatever.

You declared victory already, move on.

"A false flag operation is an act committed with the intent of disguising the actual source of responsibility and pinning blame on a second party. The term is popular amongst conspiracy theory promoters in referring to covert operations of various governments and cabals."

About 15 years ago I traveled to Abu Simbel from Aswan. Egypt Air was on strike so the only way to get there was by bus. We traveled in a convoy of cars and trucks escorted by the military due to the Muslim Brotherhood issue. I have never seen anywhere even remotely as barren. It literally made the Mojave desert look like a garden. Nothing but rocks and sand. After about two hours we passed an "oasis area" where herds of camels were grazing. The vegetation was spiny weeds and brush like you would expect to see in a dry wash in Death Valley.

As for the system of government I'm certain it would be described as a "Republic" and not a "Democracy". You know, where the Pharaoh is elected by a vote of the people but many are prevented from voting for security reasons and, in any case a council of the priesthood is appointed to make the actual selection while taking into account the vote of the people and adjusting for the amount of male Hebrew slaves in each district...

Is “false flag” like “fake news”? Something your throw out there to discredit anything that doesn’t fit your narrative?

Voter suppression is very real and a few clicks of the mouse will give you all the evidence you need from credible sources but you are more likely to post some ridiculous story like you used to prove “widespread mail in voter fraud” that fell laughably short of proving your point.

My googling tells me a similar story, somewhat similar to 8inch's comparison to Timbuktu - just somewhere remote, inaccessible, or pointless. I dont remember hearing the term before the late1990s but apparently it goes back to the 60s or 70s.

Since the term doesn't seem to be older than the 1960s I don't think it had much to do with Africa being a dark and mysterious land, especially since while Egypt is geographically part of Africa, in most peoples minds it's considered to be more like the Middle East.

Fun Fact: Timbuktu is a real place of historical significance. In modern day Mali, and still a rather difficult place to travel to.

"Where exactly is this mysterious land "Bum Fuck Egypt" located?"

In the Navy, BFE was always my next duty station, or the place where the wife had to move while I visited far away lands and hung out with exotic, interesting people.

"The GOP is doing everything they can, legally and illegally, to suppress the vote."

Those draconian things like photo ID? only allowing living citizens to vote, and then only once?

It's like buying beer almost, I get it. Nobody is suppressing anything, it's another false flag.

Carlisle, PA, Us

While there is not much evidence for voter suppression, I support it whole heartedly. Until people realize voting is a waste of time in the monoparty system, nothing will improve, and the average pleb will continue to be alienated from political amd institutional power, while thinking they are participating in it.

that7girlRegular

Wow, that is very naive. The GOP is doing everything they can, legally and illegally, to suppress the vote.

DNLBVeteran

Nobody’s ever suggested stopping a “legally registered voter from exercising their constitutional right to vote”.

To pretend that’s the focus is ridiculous. It has always been about preventing those who are not legitimate voters or repeated voters, we can leave it there. Why would you want someone to be able to cheat? Is it really your intention that elections not be legitimate?
