What sucks is that many who used to recreate in ND, as in hunting/fishing, can't afford to do it anymore. People who travel there to visit friends and family can't afford the motels- IF they can find a vacancy.

Also, the higher paying jobs have attracted some not so desireable types seeking to make a quick buck

I didn't know that. I knew they grew throughout life and some very old ones reached large sizes, but I didn't know it was from ubiquitous telomerase expression.

Since our resident enzymologist is not chiming in, I'll just point out that the "wet heat" of 116 °F that he alleges kills enzymes is easily achieved in a pot of boiling water.

FF: Lobsters and one type of jellyfish are immortal and can only be killed by an outside source. Living creatures strands of DNA get shorter as they age except the lobster possesses an enzyme called telamerese which allows their cells to replicate again and again without issues due to aging.
